This shouldn’t be a surprise to see MJ as one of the three best available athletes. The dual threat athlete offers so much to a next level program. His athleticism opens the door for position versatility, but he also has the talent to play QB at a high level. I always enjoy watching MJ throw the deep ball. The football explodes out of his hand and usually has a high arc, but it doesn’t float. Mitchell is able to get plenty of velocity behind it as he drops it in a bucket to his WR. The senior QB is also elite at moving around the pocket with his sudden agility and quick feet. Plus when he takes off you better have a DB in good position to take an angle on him and cut him off before he can really get loose in the open field. MJ is a weapon that will be able to see the field at the next level.

in our mobility build. MJ is an outstanding athlete who also happens to have an excellent arm. MJ’s mobility works in two ways. The first is the most fun. Whether it be designed runs or scrambles off script, MJ is the best WI has when he breaks the pocket and line of scrimmage. He has elite acceleration and his agility and elusive running in tight quarters is the best I have watched. MJ is just as dangerous when he keeps it as when he lets it rip downfield. The other way his mobility is dangerous is that he can stay in the backfield and/or pocket and buy time to give his receivers time to get open. Those are killer scenarios for the defense because MJ is so hard to contain. If you don’t get him down quickly he is usually going to make you pay.

. The senior signal caller was slinging it around the field during the D3 Championship game. While the Crusaders came up short, MJ did what he could to keep them in this game. He was aggressive with his decision making, pushing the ball deep downfield on multiple occasions with pinpoint accuracy and easy arm strength. It was impressive watching the ball jump out of his hand so naturally with velocity in person. MJ is also an exceptional athlete who was able to buy time in the pocket with quick twitch change of direction, burst, and sliding and when he had to had no problem taking off and running. Mitchell is the top available QB in the state and a versatile athlete on top of the passing prowess.

MJ is a big play waiting to happen every time he takes the snap. With his arm or his legs. Even with his dual threat abilities, MJ was one of the state’s top TD throwers in 2023. He has an arm that can hit any part of the field with pinpoint ball placement. Another major bonus to support MJ’s potential to lead the state in passing TDs is his big play WR Marvanous Butler- Brown Marvanous Butler- Brown 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Catholic Memorial | 2025 State WI will also be returning to the field, taking the top off of defenses. We usually wouldn’t start off this type of article with a QB but MJ is not your standard pocket passer. MJ can completely change the game with a single throw or a single run. The dual threat athlete has game breaking speed with elusiveness to get him through the front seven when he breaks the pocket. MJ has great vision as a runner and has that innate playmaker ability to make the off the wall play look easy. Then you add in an arm that allows his offense to attack the entire field. His range isn’t limited and the mechanics of the athletic QB are so consistent, allowing him to be an accurate passer. I’m very excited for the season to get here so we can see that standout QB get back to making plays.

The best available QB is the Catholic Memorial dual threat stud. MJ piled up 40 total TDs in 2023 with an impressive display of arm talent and athleticism. MJ’s arm checks the boxes of a D1 caliber signal caller. He easily can let it rip and push the ball 50 yards downfield with a tight spiral coming out of a smooth and quick release. MJ is poised in the pocket because he trusts his OL and his legs to buy him time if needed. Mitchell also shows the much needed ability to pinpoint exactly where he wants the ball and then place it there. When it all breaks down, or when it is designed for him, MJ can break a defense with his legs. The top end speed is there that can carry to the next level, and his elusiveness increases that threat on the ground. Check him out!

has put himself in the middle of it following his first year as the varsity starter. MJ is now listed at 6’2″ 185 lbs, with plenty of room to continue to fill out his frame. The tape shows a player where the sky is the limit. The arm talent is so impressive, yet natural. The ball jumps out of his hand when he goes deep. Over and over we see that he has the ability to drop the ball on a dime 50 yards downfield. Both the deep accuracy and arm strength are there in spades. MJ is also able to drive the ball on a rope in the short to intermediate levels with pinpoint accuracy. Where Mitchell further separates himself is on the ground. He can break a game open on any carry with his quick twitch agility that leaves deadeners tackling air. The long speed is there to crate the big plays. His vision with the ball is on par with any RB in the state as well. Check out the tape below. The D1 offers have started coming in. Plenty more are sure to follow.
