There can only be one on the field and it's easily the most scrutinized position in all of football, the Quarterback! At 6'2" and 200 pounds, the multi-sport athlete has the strongest arm in this class, made evident by a fastball that's been clocked at 89 mph. The Ironmen have D1 recruit [player_tooltip player_id='1907950' first='Carson' last='Schoen'] locked in as the day one starter, in addition to Soph. Marchetti has an opportunity to play early in high school, as the Spartans lost a pair of PRZ Next Middle School Camp alumni in Derek Zammit (University of Washington) and Justin Merriman (transfer to St. Frances Academy).

A Tier 1 Quarterback in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.

Without question one of the premier 2030 QBs in the state of New Jersey as of August 2026. The righty out of Westwood in Bergen County has a cannon for an arm and can make every throw needed on the field at this point. SJR is bringing in a ton of talent at all positions and the 2025 BCJFL All-Star should have very little problem getting the ball out of his hands and into the hands of his playmakers this year and beyond.

A Tier 1 Quarterback in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.

After taking a reclass year and playing with Silk City in 2025, Ciliento Jr. had interest from a number of non-public schools in the state, but he ultimately opted to stay home and play at Wood-Ridge. He comes in with excellent size for a freshman and possesses advanced arm talent at this point. Furthermore, he's expected to get the keys to the offense and should be the day one starter.

A Tier 1 Quarterback in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.

A prospect that didn't jump on to my radar until the late spring in 2026, [player_tooltip player_id='2337008' first='Elijah' last='Wallace'] is an intriguing one to keep an eye on. His size and athletic ability check the boxes, standing 6'2" and 165 pounds while also excelling in track. He was a big reason for the success of the Carteret Bulldogs Pop Warner program in 2025 and will now add that ability to an already deeply-talented 2030 class at Shabazz. He's raw fundamentally as a QB, but that can be coached into him as he moves forward.

A Tier 1 Quarterback in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.

As is the case with several of the Tier 1 Quarterbacks in this New Jersey 2030 class, DePoder is not only a name to know at QB, but also on the baseball diamond. The 6'1", 160-pounder has been clocked with a fastball at 75 mph. DePoder was QB1 for a Gloucester City Mustangs program that brought home and SJIYFA Championship in 2025. It's not often that a program like The Hun School takes an incoming freshman at QB, but that's the case here. Bienko was an NJSYFL All-Star in 2025 and his body is now catching up with his football IQ and decision making, having gown three inches and put on 15-20 pounds. The Morristown native has the "IT factor" and will have the benefit of developing for two years behind current Indiana-commit and PRZ Next camp alumni, [player_tooltip player_id='943155' first='Lukas' last='Prock'].

A Tier 1 Quarterback in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.

Last season the Washington Township Minutemen Junior High Team was riddled with talent at every position on the field, and the straw stirring the drink was QB1 [player_tooltip player_id='1719449' first='Jaxson' last='Battista']. The big righty is nearly 6'2", 180 pounds and sports a very solid build. Battista should fit right in, as new Hermits HC Bill Belton clearly has an affinity for big Quarterbacks with PRZ Next Middle School camp alumn [player_tooltip player_id='1140616' first='Frank' last='Hoerst'] (6'4", 205) and [player_tooltip player_id='1647472' first='Dylan' last='Dellanoce'] (6'2", 185) already on the roster.

A Tier 1 Quarterback in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.

On film and looking at picture of him, he absolutely looks the part of a Quarterback that will make some noise in Bergen County and beyond over the next four years. A Southpaw with a solid build, who also plays baseball. Looking at recent QB training clips, he moves well in the pocket with nimble feet and displays a powerful arm. A Tier 1 Quarterback in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.

The only New Jersey 2030 Quarterback that attended The Rize 2026, Marchetti has long been a QB in this class that coaches have known about. The Chatham native played his 2025 season for Silk City and is set to begin his career at DePaul Catholic.

A prospect that didn't jump on to my radar until the late spring in 2026, Elijah Wallace Elijah Wallace Elijah Wallace 6'2" | 165 lbs | QB/ATH Shabazz | 2030 NJ is an intriguing one to keep an eye on.

He's off to Gloucester Catholic where the Rams went 0-11 last year and 2-7 the year prior.

When looking at the future in terms of Quarterbacks with the biggest upside, the list has to start with Hudson Bienko Hudson Bienko Hudson Bienko 6'0" | 155 lbs | QB Hun School | 2030 NJ . It's not often that a program like The Hun School takes an incoming freshman at QB, but that's the case here. Bienko was an NJSYFL All-Star in 2025 and his body is now catching up with his football IQ and decision making, having gown three inches and put on 15-20 pounds. The Morristown native has the "IT factor" and will have the benefit of developing for two years behind current Indiana-commit and PRZ Next camp alumni, Lukas Prock Lukas Prock Lukas Prock 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Hun School | 2028 State NJ .

Another one of the five Quarterbacks that the Crusaders are bringing in with this 2030 class, Martino is a promising prospect in several aspects. In 2025 he served as QB1 on an NBJFL Championship-winning Ridgewood team, but was also seemingly a double digit-a-game tackling machine at Linebacker. Also regarded as a stud on the baseball diamond, I think taking a wait and see approach is best here. With that said, there is no question he's one of the best pure football players in the state of New Jersey.

Arguably the top dual-threat QB in all of South Jersey, Holy Spirit got themselves a very talented playmaker in Sullivan McCarthy Sullivan McCarthy 6'1" | 165 lbs | QB Haddon Heights | 2030 NJ entering the HS ranks. He has looked sharp in 7v7 action this summer as he approaches the season and I fully expect him to keep ascending over his high school career. Looking at his film from his 8th grader season in 2025, he looks more than comfortable escaping the pocket under duress and making throws on the run.

Rounding out the Tier 1 Quarterbacks in this New Jersey 2030 class is incoming Green Wave signal caller, Tyler Masella Tyler Masella Tyler Masella 6'1" | 192 lbs | QB Delbarton | 2030 NJ . Like a few other Tier 1 QBs, Masella opted for a reclass year in 2025 and got his body ready for the grind of HS football. Following the 2024 season he was named a NBJFL All-Star for his play with Montville. He likely won't see varsity time this year with former PRZ Next Middle School Camp MVP Gavin Gilardi Gavin Gilardi Gavin Gilardi 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Delbarton | 2028 State NJ and another PRZ Net Middle School Camp alumni Jayden Schmalz Jayden Schmalz Jayden Schmalz 5'9" | 165 lbs | QB Piscataway | 2029 NJ both returning from a year ago. With that said, he is physically ready and should develop nicely as we look forward.
