Fa’alafi is a high upside OT at 6’8” 360 lbs. Basketball player whose athleticism and natural movement translate smoothly to the OL and have resulted in his skyrocketing recruitment. Footwork and body control give him a natural feel for getting to the spot on time and setting angles. Shows he can accelerate his feet on contact and overpower opponents at the POA to create immediate movement. In pass protection, he shows the feet to stay in front when mirroring counter movements and the foot speed to recover without getting overextended. Still raw in his technique but the physical upside tied to his measurables and movement skills is elite. 14 from top programs such as Oregon, UCLA, USC, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Ohio State but will continue to pull in high level attention as he gains experience.

Fa’alafi had a breakout performance at the Under Armour Next camp where he earned an invite to the All-American game. He didn’t play last year due to the program at Bishop Montgomery being suspended and hasn’t played a lot of football. Fa’alafi moves very well for a guy as big as he is and can redirect pass rushers with a strong initial punch and a good post step inside. He has offers from USC, Notre Dame, LSU and Ohio State among many others.

Fa’alafi was the breakout player of the camp and it was the first time many people saw him compete. He’s a very good athlete for his size and has a good first step to the outside. For a guy who hasn’t played much football, his instincts are good. He won reps against the top defensive line recruit in the class and did a good job using his inside leg to post up and cut off the inside pass rush. Fa’alafi can redirect defenders and has a good initial punch.
