Madrid is a trench prospect with the tools to make an impact on both sides of the ball but his defensive upside stands out. During his freshman season, he showed flashes of being a disruptive force up front, using his size and strength to battle through blocks and affect plays. With Arapahoe set to replace key contributors along the line, Madrid is in a strong position to step into an expanded role. His ability to shed blocks quickly, maintain leverage and finish plays makes him a reliable option moving forward. As he gains experience and continues developing physically, Madrid has a clear opportunity to solidify himself as a key piece and elevate his stock this season.

Madid measures in at 5’9 229 pounds. I had the pleasure of seeing him at one of our PRZ combine events. Madrid has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, good speed, and lateral agility. He has good strength to win the reps against the offensive line. Due to his size, it’s easier for him to get a lower pad level and out leverage bigger OL. Good hand placement and very good hand strength. Good bull rush and spin move. Watch out for Madrid as he goes into his next season with some more notches on his belt.

A rising young defensive lineman out of Denver South. Madrid has a quick twitch to his game. He has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, good speed, and lateral agility. Madrid used his good strength during the drills to get one ups on his opponent. Madrid has good hand placement and good hand strength. His shiftiness was on display throughout the event. He has quick feet paired with a powerful bull rush. Keep an eye on Madrid as he continues his development going forward!

Madrid turned heads on the defensive line, combining a strong base with quick, violent hands to drive through blockers. During 3v2 drills, his first step quickness and hand usage allowed him to consistently disrupt plays in the backfield. Whether rushing from the inside or outside, Madrid demonstrated the speed and skill to beat offensive linemen and finish at the quarterback.

Bryon Madrid has had quite the disruptive middle school career as a two-way lineman for the Mile-Hi Thoroughbreds. At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, Madrid is a bit of a tweener at this point – not big enough on a national scale to hang in there as a defensive tackle, but not crazy-athletic enough to be a pass-rushing defensive end. That said, when it comes to Colorado 2028 prospects, there’s not many more that consistently get into the backfield like Madrid does. He’s got a mean streak to him and isn’t afraid to mix it up if the situation calls for it. Fires off the ball quickly and gets into the offensive linemen’s chest first, he then follows it up with quick-action moves that clears the lane to the backfield.
