OK Recruiting Report - Week 8

<p>With Fall Break taking place for so many across the state this past week and high school games being played on Thursday night there was an uptick in gameday visits for many prospects across the state. Additionally, a number of players earned new offers while one player announced his commitment as we head into week eight of the high school football season in Oklahoma and college recruiting really starts to ramp up. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Offers</h2>   <p>Broken Arrow senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='649663' first='Octavian' last='Roberson'] announced an offer from NCAA D2 Nebraska-Kearney and NAIA Missouri Valley University. Roberson has drawn interest from fellow D2 member Pitt State. Roberson is a dynamic running back in a loaded Tigers backfield. Roberson is a dynamic runner that reads his blocks well and can turn a small hole into a big play. He is also a capable receiver down the field out of the backfield.</p>    <p>Jones cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='1703876' first='Derek' last='Templeton'], a class of 2028 prospect, announced an offer from the Kansas Jayhawks on Tuesday. Templeton holds offers from Kansas State, UTSA, Arkansas State, and Tulsa. </p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1828591' first='Bobby' last='Pennon'], a 2027 Choctaw defensive back, has seen his recruiting ramp up after <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/10/ok-recruiting-report-week-7/">earning his first Division I offer last week</a>; he has added another from Central Arkansas on Tuesday. Pennon has an offer from Northwestern Oklahoma State at the Division II level. </p>   <p>Standout freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2154350' first='Maverick' last='Owens'] adds another offer this time from the TCU Horned Frogs. The Bixby Spartans cornerback and receiver made it happen on special teams this past week with a 53-yard punt return touchdown as the Spartans blasted Norman North, 58-0. Owens holds offers from Tulsa, Oklahoma State, UCLA, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, SMU, and Memphis. </p>   <p>TCU also offered Spartans sophomore offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1833634' first='Gavin' last='Wilson']. The 2028 prospect holds offers from Tennessee, Auburn, Arizona State, Missouri, LSU, Oklahoma, UNT, Baylor, Kansas State, Arkansas State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Purdue, and Tulsa. </p>   <p>Putnam City senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1706518' first='Kahmi' last='Herrera'] announced his first offer on Friday as Brevard College extended an offer. The same day Herrera finished with 13 carreis, 118 yards, and 2 touchdowns versus Putnam City West. </p>   <p>Booker T. Washington senior defensive end Jacob Gross announced Sunday he has earned an offer from NAIA Langston University. Gross visited the Lions this weekend, where he received the offer. </p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1833388' first='Jacob' last='Johnston'], a Mt. Saint Mary 2027 prospect along the line, announced he has received an offer from Division III Buena Vista University (Iowa). Johnston holds an offer from Capital University, University of St. Mary, Kansas Wesleyan, Oklahoma Baptist, Austin College, and Hendrix College. </p>   <p>The Tulsa Golden Hurricane staff, led by head coach Tre Lamb, have been unabashed about their goal to recruit locally. TU has extended an offer to [player_tooltip player_id='1836729' first='Sean-Cole' last='Keyes']. The Edmond Santa Fe 2027 defensive backfield is currently verbally committed to Missouri State, a Conference USA member. He also holds offers from Lindenwood, Illinois State, UT Martin, and Army.</p>   <p>Choctaw running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1748506' first='Brock' last='Day'], a 2027 prospect, announced Thursday that he has been offered by Sterling College. </p>   <p>MidAmerica Nazarene offered [player_tooltip player_id='1828174' first='Kasun' last='Horton']. A nose guard and offensive lineman for Berryhill, Horton is a 2027 prospect who holds offers from Lawrence University, Capital University, Cornell College, Hampden-Sydney College, and Hendrix College. </p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1837942' first='Tucker' last='Stull'], a Moore Lions senior tight end and wide receiver, has earned an offer from Sterling College. He also holds an offer from Hendrix College and Kansas Wesleyan.</p>   <p>Missouri Valley University offered Victory Christian linebacker and long snapper Gabriel Wilson, a class of 2027 prospect, as part of gameday visit to the Show Me State this past weekend. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Commitments</h2>   <p>Choctaw Yellow Jackets offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1831265' first='Aaron' last='Hale'] announced his verbal commitment to the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos. Hale is a 6-5, 280-pound left tackle for Choctaw that is relentless in his blocking in both the run and pass game. He holds offers from Midwestern State (Texas), Northeastern State (Okla.), East Central (Okla.), Northwestern Oklahoma State, McPherson College (Kan.), Southwestern Oklahoma State, Hendrix College (Ark.), and Graceland University (Iowa). </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Visits</h2>   <p>With so many playing games on Thursday this past week it allowed for student-athletes across the state to make visits on Saturday to numerous colleges and universities for game day.</p>   <p>Norman North EDGE, outside linebacker, and tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1851082' first='Brody' last='James'] made a trip to West Texas as he took in the Texas Tech Red Raiders route of Arizona State in Lubbock. Wildcat also received an offer from North Dakota State College of Science he announced Monday. The Vols offered Jax this summer. Wilkerson is highly recruited with offers from Ohio State, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Arizona State, SMU, Iowa State, Utah, Missouri, Ole Miss, TCU, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Tulsa, and Oklahoma State. </p>   <p>Lincoln Christian senior lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1101282' first='Lincoln' last='Torres'] verbally committed to Harding University this past June and took an official visit to the Bisons this past weekend.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1837243' first='Andrew' last='Havens'], a 2027 Bixby Spartans tight end and outside linebacker watched the Missouri S&T Miners earn a 28-21 victory over McKendree. </p>   <p>Tulane hosted a trio of Piedmont Wildcats in [player_tooltip player_id='1828021' first='King' last='Underwood'] (Class of 2028), [player_tooltip player_id='2374517' first='Jeremiah' last='Millhouse'] (Class of 2029), and [player_tooltip player_id='2244459' first='Brody' last='Williams'] (Class of 2029). </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/KingUnderwood28/status/2111628956294140393?s=20 </div></figure>   <p>Cascia Hall 2030 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2243558' first='Manhattan' last='Duffie'] visited Baton Rouge for the LSU versus Mississippi State game. A defensive back and quarterback, Duffie holds offers from Memphis and Texas State. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ManhattanDuffie/status/2111853426560950434?s=20 </div></figure>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1834121' first='Connor' last='Cannon'], a 2028 athlete for Yukon, visited Colorado State University - Pueblo this past weekend. </p>   <p>Edmond Memorial linebacker and running back [player_tooltip player_id='2128291' first='Morgan' last='Lesch'] was in Waco, Texas for TCU-Baylor. The Baylor Bears offered Lesch following his camp participation in June. </p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1701928' first='Quaid' last='Smith'], a 2027 offensive lineman for Harrah, visited the Emporia State Hornets this past weekend. Smith has been offered by Arkansas Tech, East Central (Okla.), Northwestern Oklahoma State, Ottawa University (Kan.), McPherson College, Independence Community College, and Langston. </p>   <p>The SMU Mustangs played host to one of the top 2028 in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='1328118' first='Kamieon' last='Compton-Nero'] and one of the most under-the-radar prospects in the '28 class in [player_tooltip player_id='1838145' first='Josiah' last='Hardy']. Hardy holds an offer from Texas College in Tyler, Texas but the invitation to visit SMU shows he has the ability to draw the eyes of a Power 4 program.
