is the first of two Wildcats on this breakdown, debuting at #8 overall and the top linebacker in this update. Williams has been outstanding on both sides of the ball this season. He got on our radar following his freshman season in 2025. His freshman film was incredibly impressive and while he has the physical traits to be a next level guy, it was his immediate production that flashed to us. This season, Williams has emerged as a legitimate two-way star for the Wildcats. He’s still terrorizing opposing offenses from the linebacker position. But he’s also using that athletic ability and overall strength at the running back position. He’s a guy that certainly plays running back like a very talented linebacker.
Piedmont rode the promising sophomore early on the opening drive. He ran with intent, often falling forward to gain more yards. Then scored the opening tuddy. While he was productive on the ground, it does feel like Williams collegiate future could lie on the defensive side of the ball. Pairs with Mason to give them an athletic and rangy off the ball linebacker duo. If he takes cues from Mason, Williams should emerge as a tackling machine.
We really like what Piedmont brings back in their front seven and specifically at the linebacker position. One of those younger players you need to remember moving forward is 2029 linebacker Brody WilliamsBrodyWilliams

and we think he’s primed for a monster sophomore campaign this season. Williams got into games last season in various moments and was productive when he was on the field. He already has good size and can absolutely fly. We think he could see his production on the defensive side of the ball absolutely explode this season. But Williams also showed last season that he could be an asset to the Wildcats on offense as another running back.
