2026 PRZ KY Preseason All-State Teams: 2A Offense

<p>As we enter the month of September, the 2026 high school football season is officially underway in the state of Kentucky. With that being said, I have been releasing my Preseason All-State Teams. After already covering classes 3A-6A, I will now turn my attention to 2A, starting with my 2A Preseason All-State Offense.<br></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Quarterback:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1157497' first='Dre'mail' last='Carothers'] is the top returning quarterback in Kentucky. He is coming off an impressive junior season in which he completed 287/427 passes for 4,022 yards, 49 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 15 games. Carothers throws a very pretty deep ball, using his arm strength to stretch the field and touch to put the ball in a spot where only his intended receiver can catch it. He also has a great feel for pressure, showing the ability to maneuver in the pocket accordingly to avoid opposing pass rushers while keeping his eyes down the field to find the open receiver. Carothers also ran the ball 33 times for 111 yards and a touchdown last season. Dre'mail is committed to Louisville where I think he has a chance to be their quarterback of the future. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Running Back:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1311186' first='Jayvian' last='Meaux'] was one of the most productive running backs in the state as a freshman, carrying the ball 230 times for 1,869 yards and 31 touchdowns in 12 games. He is a very difficult player to bring down in the open field as he has the strength/contact balance to bounce off defenders and the elusiveness to make them miss with ease. Meaux also has the burst of speed to run away from the defense once he hits the second level. Jayvian also caught eight passes for 80 yards and a touchdown last year. Meaux currently holds offers from Louisville, Tulane, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect many more to come his way over the next few years.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Wide Receivers:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1200706' first='Tyler' last='Fryman'] is one of the most talented players in the entire state, regardless of class or position. He is coming off a very strong junior year in which he led his team in receiving with 62 catches for 1,320 yards and 23 touchdowns in 13 games. Fryman is a very dangerous deep threat, using his speed to his advantage to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease. He is also electric in the open field as he is able to use his elusiveness and speed to turn short passes/screens into big gains on a regular basis. Fryman also scored four rushing touchdowns, threw a touchdown pass, and returned three punts for touchdowns last season. He also made an impact on defense as a junior, recording 35 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two interceptions. Tyler is committed to Kentucky where he will play both football and baseball at the next level. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1200708' first='Sam' last='Pearson'] played a key role in LCA' state title run last season, finishing the year with 25 receptions for 480 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 games. Pearson is very difficult to guard in man coverage as he does a great job of using his speed and quick breaks in his routes to create easy separation. He also has very reliable hands, showing the ability to make catches away from his body, no matter what type of coverage is around him. Pearson also made an impact on defense as a junior, finishing the season with 23 tackles and a team-high four interceptions. Sam is committed to Ohio where I can see him developing into a productive receiver at the next level. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1130910' first='Rashad' last='High'] will be looking to build off a solid junior year in which he caught 25 passes for 300 yards and 10 touchdowns in nine games. High is a long, athletic wide receiver who is very reliable in contested catch situations. He does a great job of high-pointing passes then using his strong hands to bring in catches through contact. High has also shown the ability to get up the field quickly after the catch to pick up extra yards. He also scored one rushing touchdown last season. High currently holds multiple Division I offers and I expect more to come his way this season. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tight End:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1715695' first='Conrad' last='Hart'] is one of the best tight ends in the entire state. He proved to be a reliable target in the passing game last season, using his speed to pose as a vertical threat and strong hands to make catches in traffic. Hart is also impressive after the catch, using his speed and strength as a ball carrier to pick up extra yards with ease. Conrad finished his junior year with 16 receptions for 190 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games. He also scored two rushing touchdowns last seasons and played a role on defense, recording 47 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks. Hart is committed to Kentucky where I can see him having a successful collegiate career. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Offensive Line:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1701050' first='John' last='Carrico'] is one of the top returning offensive linemen in the state, regardless of class. He lines up at right tackle where he is impressive both in the run game and pass protection. As a run blocker, John explodes out of his stance and drives his man out of the picture with a sense of urgency. He finishes his blocks with a ton of physicality, ending in a pancake block on a regular basis. In pass protection, he has shown the footwork to mirror opposing pass rushers with ease while maintaining a strong base, not allowing easy penetration into the pocket. Carrico holds several Power 4 offers and I expect them to keep piling up for him moving forward. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1715693' first='Brayden' last='Smith'] is a player who has been high on my radar for a while now. Smith lines up at right tackle where he is a dominant run blocker. He is very effective when asked to down block as he drives his man inside with ease to create a running lane for the ball carrier. Smith also does a great job of getting to the second level and picking up blocks in space. Brayden holds an offer from UT-Martin and I wouldn't be surprised to see more come his way soon. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2105821' first='Nick' last='Greer'] caught my attention with a very strong sophomore season at center for LCA. Greer is very impressive in open space as run blocker, showing the ability to pull from the center spot and get up the field to pick up blocks. He finishes his blocks through the whistle, often several yards down the field. In pass protection, Greer does a great job of picking up stunts/blitzes and maintaining a strong base while absorbing contact. Nick currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way over the next two years. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">To wrap up my 2A Preseason All-State Offense, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1311355' first='Christian' last='Alsabrook']. Christian is coming off a strong freshman year at left tackle where he impressed as a run blocker. Alsabrook does a great job of running his feet through contact to drive his man off the line of scrimmage with ease. He finishes his blocks with a ton of physicality, resulting in frequent pancake blocks.
