He is also very elusive in the open field, showing the ability to make moves to make defenders miss with ease. Meaux also caught eight passes for 80 yards and a touchdown as a freshman. Jayvian has received some college interest and I expect a lot of eyes to be on him heading into his sophomore year.

Through nine games, Meaux leads his team in rushing with 173 carries for 1,425 yards and 25 touchdowns. Once Meaux hits the open field, he has shown the explosive burst of speed to run away from the defense on long runs. He is also very elusive, using quick cuts to make defenders miss with ease. Jayvian has also caught one touchdown pass this season. Meaux will be a top prospect in the state to keep an eye on as he continues to develop throughout his high school career.

Meaux has very impressive elusiveness in the open field, showing the ability to make quick cuts to make defenders miss with ease. He has also shown the speed to run away from the defense once he hits the second level. Jayvian has also caught one touchdown pass this season and his 19 total touchdowns has him as the leading scorer in 2A through the first six weeks. Meaux should definitely be a player to keep a close eye on as he continues to develop over the next four years.

Widely considered the top Running Back in the class of 2029 in Kentucky — and I am in agreement with that. Jayvian Meaux Jayvian Meaux 5'8" | 165 lbs | RB Danville | 2029 State KY is an excellent mix of speed, balance and full body strength. The definition of a workhorse back, he runs low to the ground and bounces around the field like a pinball. Speedy and agile with excellent change of direction. Cuts effortlessly and uses vision that simply can’t be taught. One of the fastest 2029 prospects in the state, Meaux had a record-breaking year on the track at Bate Middle School. Meaux placed in the State in the 100M, 4×1 and 4×2 in May 2025. He recorded a 100m PR of 11.35 and an 11.54 at the Kentucky Middle School Meet of Champions — which placed him fourth.

Bate Middle School standout turned Danville High School prospect Jayvian Meaux Jayvian Meaux 5'8" | 165 lbs | RB Danville | 2029 State KY was clearly a focal point for the 8^th Grade Kentucky Future Stars. Despite being kept off the scoreboard in terms of touchdowns, the starting Running Back got the most touches of any skill player on the roster.

The Kentucky offense struggled to find balance and consistency throughout the afternoon, but Meaux did everything in his power to effect the outcome–and one could make an argument he could have been named MVP. I don’t have official stats, but per my notes he carried the ball 10 times, highlighted by three runs of 12-yards or more. He was also targeted twice coming out of the backfield in the passing game, with his lone reception coming on a well-designed slip screen in the third quarter.

Meaux looks like he was born to play the position, as he combines toughness and the ability to break tackles with his verified 11.35 speed in the 100m. I’d compare his running style to that of a pinball, but more athletic than that. His ability to absorb hits, stay balanced and reaccelerate was a thing of beauty when I last saw him play in March 2025 at the Battle of the Regions. He was the best 2029 RB I saw that weekend.

To say that Meaux had a very busy weekend for Region 2 would be an understatement. He was the prominent feature back in the running attack and finished the weekend with four touchdowns in total. Meaux played hard and gave a ton of consistent effort. Running with impressive balance, he broke countless tackles and showed of some impressive acceleratation when he got to the second and third levels of the field. Additionally, he has gotten noticeably thicker since I last saw him in June with the Kentucky Future Stars and has really started to hit his stride as a balanced, all-around Running Back.

Jay’vian Meaux has KY Future Star pedigree and runs the rock like he was born to do it. He packs a big punch in a smaller package, bringing all the goods. His contact balance is nasty, and if you don’t stop him before he reaches the third level, he’s gone. He has the vision needed to be a threat inside, and his agility allows him to shed tackles easily on his way to big yardage. Don’t overlook his return ability either—this kid can go!
