Roy is a great athlete on the edge. This past season in track and field, he won the OCC-Buckeye title in the 110 hurdles for Newark. He's good at using his hands to create leverage and rip inside. The Spartan commit has great athleticism off the edge and can be an early-down run defender right away. He's a true dual-threat player who can make plays both on offense and defense. As a receiver, his route running is smooth, and paired with his after-the-catch ability, he's one of the most dangerous receivers in the state. As a defensive back, he's very technical and can play press, off the line, and supports against the run. He's got great ball skills and can jump on any pass thrown his way. Michigan State has seen Eli's physical development and confidence grow and has nabbed his commitment in March. Eli has no problem standing tall in the pocket and driving the ball downfield for big plays. Overall, he is an efficient passer who works the intermediates very well and has good timing with his targets to work the sidelines on breaking routes. He has great length and athleticism that pair very well as a boundary corner or safety. On the boundary, you are taking a big risk testing him deep due to his speed and frame to break up passes or intercept passes.
