Ocean View Seahawk Shootout Preview (Part 1)

<p>32 Southern California teams will gather at Ocean View High in Huntington Beach for its annual passing tournament.</p>   <p>There are eight pools of four teams. Here is a brief look at the teams competing in the event.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>BEACH POOL</strong></h2>   <p><strong>SAN CLEMENTE</strong></p>   <p>San Clemente graduated some key talent at the skill positions but have some intriguing returners, including quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2121939' first='Preston' last='Beck'], who went 6-1 as a starter as a sophomore. BYU commit [player_tooltip player_id='661909' first='Jaxson' last='Rex'] is the only returning receiver who got a lot of run last season, but the Tritons just added San Juan Hills transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1858610' first='Ryan' last='Matheson']. <strong>Cade Hogan</strong> and <strong>Jackson Branch </strong>are intriguing returners in the secondary along with Rex. San Clemente transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1758285' first='Eiler' last='King'] figures to be the starter, but <strong>Preston Getz</strong> and [player_tooltip player_id='1229814' first='John' last='Pintar'] are other quarterbacks to watch. Texas State commit [player_tooltip player_id='1639259' first='Luke' last='Frith'] is one of the top two-way players in Orange County. <strong>Cooper Chila</strong> is a good two-way player to watch for the Stallions and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1658274' first='Noah' last='Howell']</strong> is a quality returning defensive back. Junior <strong>Brody Bevan</strong> got some varsity playing time last season and freshman <strong>Jayden Hansen</strong> is a big sophomore with a lot of upside. <strong>Sam Kennedy</strong> is a receiver to watch along with tight end <strong>Owen Stirrat</strong>. New Mexico commit [player_tooltip player_id='1611185' first='Damani' last='Porras'] is back after having 1129 yards receiving with 13 touchdowns last season. Porras also had six interceptions on defense and <strong>Kingston Fasavalu</strong> is another young secondary player to watch. The Chargers may turn to junior quarterback <strong>Tommy Tombleson</strong> at quarterback.
