About Jimmel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is all about versatility and precision. As a wide receiver, I'm focused on running sharp routes, making explosive plays, and using my speed and agility to create separation from defenders. On defense, as a safety, I'm all about reading the offense, making quick decisions, and delivering hard, clean hits.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is defined by resilience and focus. I'm always pushing myself to improve, staying calm under pressure, and never backing down from a challenge. I lead with confidence but remain humble, always supporting my teammates and striving to be the best version of myself on and off the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm involved in a nonprofit where I mentor and support youth in the foster system, helping them navigate their challenges. I'm also an active member of my church, where I participate in various community activities. These roles are important to me because they allow me to give back and make a positive impact beyond the field.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through my involvement in football and community service. On the field, I lead by example, staying focused and motivating my teammates to give their best. Off the field, mentoring youth in the foster system has taught me the value of patience, empathy, and the importance of giving back to the community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've faced significant challenges balancing my academics with the demands of being an athlete. Managing time effectively and maintaining focus on both my studies and sports has been tough, but it's taught me discipline and perseverance. I've had to work hard to keep up with schoolwork while dedicating myself fully to the game, and it's made me a stronger, more organized individual.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that not only has a strong football program but also values academics and personal development. I want a place where I can continue to grow as an athlete and a student, with a supportive community and coaching staff that helps me reach my full potential both on and off the field.

Huntington Beach receiver Jimmel Champion Jimmel Champion Jimmel Champion 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Huntington Beach | 2027 State CA announced his commitment to Wyoming on Thursday.

Champion caught six passes for 94 yards with a touchdown for Huntington Beach last season and had an interception on defense in just six games. He transferred into Huntington Beach from Salpointe Catholic in Arizona.

He also had offers from Boise State and Colorado State among others. Champion is one of two players from California in Wyoming’s 2027 recruiting class and one of three receivers.

With the second-fastest shuttle time (4.31) and the third-fastest L-drill (7.03) of any receiver in attendance while being 6’1″ 180 lbs, Jimmel Champion Jimmel Champion Jimmel Champion 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Huntington Beach | 2027 State CA is a rare combination of size and athleticism. He’s a serious deep threat with speed, length, and great hands, while also being a very solid short-route runner who has no trouble getting open in tight spaces. He moved around the field very fluidly and has all the physical tools most coaches are looking for in a star wide receiver. Look for Champion’s recruitment to start heating up as he gets more meaningful reps for Salpointe Catholic this fall.
