The Anoka Tornados enter the 2026 season with one of the most talent-loaded rosters in 6A, and despite going 0-9 last season, their potential for a single-season turnaround is ridiculous. Meet some of the top prospects from Anoka!!

Sieben has been a fast riser in the recruiting space this offseason, snagging 7 offers, including an FCS offer from St. Thomas and multiple D2 offers from major powerhouses like Minnesota Duluth and Northern State. The Tornados' QB1 put together some great tape during his junior year and is building up to a massive senior campaign at the offense's helm. The dual-threat gunslinger brings a variety of tools to the table. His pocket escapability is very impressive, and not only is he capable of flowing with the play and scrambling for a big gain, but he's also excellent at extending the time to throw before delivering a dime downfield. Some of the throws he makes off-platform under pressure are astounding, and made me replay the tape several times. His arm talent is enough to truly stretch the field deep, but also brings speed to the table that can create massive chunk plays off designed runs. Anoka has a very, very promising QB1 ahead of next season, and I think if Sieben is on, the sky is really the limit for what they can achieve.

One of the highest-rated RBs in his class, Rush has finally started to get the attention that he deserves after a very successful start to the camp circuit, earning 7 offers, including an FCS one from Drake, as well as several D2 ones from schools like Concordia St. Paul and Northern State. I've broken down his tape before, and every time I view it, I'm very impressed. Touting 4.5 speed, the aptly named Rush is a bruiser and incredibly explosive everywhere. Despite being a thick back, Rush is very nimble and has repeatedly shown he can make rapid cuts both at the line and downfield. He's not afraid to run someone over as well, and does an excellent job of lowering his shoulder and running his feet through contact. The amount of arm tackles he can break in a given play is very impressive, and he's liable to break off a short run between the tackles for a massive gain at any moment. He's also got an upside as a receiving back, touting solid hands, especially on deep balls. He's come a long way from his freshman season on varsity, and I believe the best of his evolution is still on its way.

Fresh off receiving offers from schools like UW-Stevens Point, Augsburg, UW-Eau Claire, and a D2 snag from Jamestown, Borchers enters his senior season as one of the more underrated LBs in AAAAAA. His junior tape is very encouraging. Borchers is comfortable playing as both an on-ball and off-ball linebacker, providing a legitimate threat off the edge while also being perfectly adept at serving in space. He does an excellent job of shedding the first block he comes in contact with, whether it be quickly displacing a lead blocker or fighting off a big OT. Borchers wastes no time in his pursuit of the ball carrier either. Despite playing with this aggressiveness, he maintains a solid football IQ. He doesn't really get baited into leaving his responsibility and can make plays in the opposite direction due to his quick hips and determination. He's big, physical, and a grinder. Get ready to see a lot of Borchers in 2026.

A DB who has started to garner hype throughout the offseason, Sweet is a talented athlete who has flown massively under the radar, and despite that, has put up some sick junior film. As a DB, Sweet has a bunch of utility both as a tough run defender and also as an athletic man coverage safety. Some of my favorite film comes when he plays in or just outside of the box. Sweet does a great job of playing downhill and is often able to meet ball carriers within a yard or two of the LOS. Some of his tackles are reminiscent of those from a talented wrestler, and if he's not able to bring the ball carrier down, he sure can blow up the play, still leading to a big-time TFL. The effort he gives while pursuing a ball carrier is both admirable and eye-catching. He currently holds one offer, and I imagine he's going to continue to stack them over the course of his final season with the Tornados.

A high-level prep golfer who also amassed 10 catches for 158 yards and 2 TDs last season, Ylkanaen provides a valuable target as a depth wideout in the pass-heavy Tornados offense. He doesn't have a ton of junior tape, but I liked what he had put out. On it, the 2027 wideout shows off some solid speed, but even more impressive is his body control and high-pointing of balls, all of which combine to make him a legitmate deep threat. He's got a pair of catches on film that snapped my head to attention, and if his upside is as dramatic as those TD catches, Ylkanen could end up being a very underrated receiving prospect during his senior campaign.

Ryther is a safety who put up eye-popping numbers on defense (51 TTck/2 TFLs/ 3 PBUs) during his junior season, but also managed to make an impact on the offensive side of the rock as a wideout (71 Rec Yards/1 TD). Late in June, he snagged a D2 offer from Minnesota State Moorhead and also snagged Os from NAIA member Dordt, D3 powerhouse UW-Eau Claire, and perennial MIAC Championship contender St. John's. Standing at 6'1" 190 lbs, Ryther has a commanding presence on the field, and is fast enough to blow by defenders when posted out wide as a receiver. His real talent is on defense, however. The first thing I noticed was Ryther's closing speed and physicality when tackling. This kid lights up receivers (legally) and does a solid job of forcing incompletions after contacting the wideout. As is required by almost every safety in Minnesota, he's also an effective run stopper. Despite playing deep outside of the box, he's able to make big-time tackles, sometimes even TFLs on triple option or zone plays. He does a great job of playing alley-to-alley, and you can often see him tracking the near hip and leg of the ball carrier. Ryther is trending to be a major stock riser ahead of his senior season.

A beefy DE who stands at 6'3" and 250 lbs, Langer finished his junior season with 38 total tackles, 6 TFLs, 2.0 sacks, and 2 FFs. He recently received offers from NSIC members Minot State, Bemidji State, and SMSU. His tape is packed full of nasty highlights, lining up anywhere from a 4I to a 9, and making plays everywhere. He's got a solid get-off from the line, especially for his size. Langer does a great job of punishing offensive linemen who fire off with their head down, and often requires a double team; otherwise, he'll either be in the backfield blowing up the play or plugging up run lanes. He's strong enough to out-muscle linemen, sturdy enough to blow up a pulling guard, and quick enough to blitz a slow tackle. Langer is a monster on the defensive line and should be a commanding force on the Tornado's defense this fall.

Olamide "Ace" Oyewole is a thick defensive lineman who stands at 6' and weighs a solid 240 lbs. I've spoken about his talents before, and I'm still impressed with what he was able to put on tape last season. He's a bulldozer in the trenches, often showing off a high motor and pursuit that is typically uncommon from a DT. The effort he puts into shutting down screens or chasing ball carriers cross-field is commendable, and oftentimes he's successful in that endeavor. He punishes offensive linemen with slow feet and proves to be a stout gap controller when guards shoot out to cut block him, still rarely giving ground. When Oyewole gets his hands on a ball carrier, the effects are often devastating, as he swallows them up and throws them around with minimal effort. I really like the upside of the Anoka defensive line heading into next season.

The Anoka Tornados enter the 2026 season with one of the most talent-loaded rosters in 6A, and despite going 0-9 last season, their potential for a single-season turnaround is ridiculous. With these 8 explosive prospects returning, it's hard not to like the potential they possess. Meet some of the top prospects from Anoka!!
