Schmalz is a wideout who has both tested well on the camp circuit and put up solid film and numbers during his junior year. He's been garnering a bunch of MIAC interest and is just waiting for those offers to start rolling in. On his 2025 tape, Schmalz proves to be a solid route runner and staunch deep threat. He does an excellent job of reeling in tightly contested passes, and his body control near the sidelines is very impressive. Once the rock hits his hands, Schmalz is liable to break off a big chunk gain at any given moment. He's got a multitude of plays on tape of him breaking tackles shortly after the catch, and is a reliable target for his QB both underneath and across the deeper layers of play. Keep an eye out for this ranked Tornados wideout.

Despite only playing 3 games on defense last season, Buxton's recruiting stock has exploded, and deservedly so. He's snagged 4 D2 offers from colleges like Minot State, Black Hills, SMSU, and Bemidji State. I've spoken highly about both his upside and his junior tape on both sides of the ball before, and I'm not about to stop now. As a defensive end, Buxton possesses such a great blend of speed and power off the edge that makes him a nightmare to deal with, regardless of the situation. He's quick enough to bend around slow OTs, and powerful enough to succeed with a bull rush against any number of offensive linemen. The effort he gives while pursuing the ball carrier is very admirable. It doesn't matter if he's currently being double-teamed or if there's a run play going to the opposite side of the field; Buxton will find a way to the ball carrier one way or another. I'm super excited to see what a full senior campaign looks like for Buxton.

One of the more intriguing prospects in the class of 2028 is Anoka's own [player_tooltip player_id='1651474' first='Alpha' last='Assibu']. He's a solid QB2 going into fall camp, but his athletic upside, combined with his stellar sophomore tape, has me really excited for his future. This kid pops on film early and often. He already boasts a solid frame at 6'3", but his arm talent is legit and on full display. His ball placement is often nothing short of stellar, and Assibu has seen great success throwing on the run as well. He excels at hitting deep and intermediate throws, and while his touch can be a little inconsistent, the upside is exceedingly clear. He's a sick runner as well. Not afraid to take designed runs or scramble when the play breaks down, Assibu runs hard and will take a lick if it means scraping up some extra yardage. There's a lot to be excited about when discussing the future of Tornadoes football.

Boylan is a 2028 MLB prospect who put forth a stellar season on varsity last season as a sophomore, tallying 41 total tackles and 2 FF in 9 games. He boasts a fair amount of recent tape, and on it he shows off his grit and toughness early on. Boylan does an excellent job of playing downhill, flowing gap to gap in pursuit of the ball carrier, without creating cut-back lanes for the running back. Once he attacks a ball carrier, Boylan excels at running his feet through contact and can stonewall them at the point of contact. I really like how hard he fights through blockers, especially at the line of scrimmage. His motor is very admirable, and he's proven to be a legit and physical run stopper very early in his career. I'm excited to see where Boylan can go from here.

Boyce had a breakout sophomore campaign last season, tallying 246 rushing yards and 4 TDs while averaging a solid 4.3 ypc. He also caught 3 balls for 79 yards. His 2025 tape is impressive. On it, he showcases impressive contact balance, speed, and power, especially for a sophomore. I really liked his vision, both as a ball carrier and as a pass catcher out of the backfield. He's able to anticipate run lanes opening and closing and can gash defenses in a variety of ways for explosive gains. Boyce has fantastic patience when letting screens develop, baiting out defenders until the last possible second before the ball is thrown. He also doesn't mind waiting a step behind the LOS so the play can develop. The tape and athletic upside are clear; there's a reason why Boyce is ranked so highly, and I expect big things to come for the 2028 prospect shortly.

Hunter already possesses the frame for a potential elite DB, and he ended up testing out of his mind this spring at a PRZ combine, leading to his stock rapidly skyrocketing. He doesn't have a ton of varsity tape, but his JV tape is legit, and it's led me to become quite excited for when he gets serious minutes. He's levels far above most of the wideouts he's lined up against, outmatching them physically in almost every way. Hunter does a great job of punishing QBs for lofting rainbows toward wideouts and will high-point passes before picking them off for serious gains. If left alone on an island with a wideout, Hunter can erase them from the field of play. He's physical at the point of attack without drawing a penalty, and does an excellent job of using his hands to break up passes. Very rarely do you see a JV DB use his hands as well as Hunter does. I'm super eager to see him lined up in that Tornado's secondary this season.

Quickly rising as one of the top 2029 prospects in the state, Sieben (not to be confused with his older brother) is making his own name for himself on the camp circuit and on the varsity field. As a freshman, Sieben brought down 22 receptions, 223 receiving yards, and a TD. Having that varsity experience as a freshman is invaluable, and his 2025 tape isn't anything to sneeze at either. His route running is wild for a freshman. Quick hips and explosive feints allow him to throw DBs off his trail, getting him open early and often. He's athletic enough to contend, if not outright beat, varsity 6A DBs off the ball, and if Sieben needs to go up and get the rock, he's more than capable of coming down with a contested jump ball. The body control he possesses is something you see out of veteran varsity athletes, and there are multiple incredibly difficult catches along the sideline that he makes look easy. I'm very excited for Sieben's future, and he's an athlete I'll be watching closely over the next couple of years.
