We started conference-wide coverage earlier this preseason, and we've been running one "every team's MVP" piece each day. So far, we've covered nearly 15 conferences. Here, we're looking at an intriguing conference in the Raleigh area, the Triangle Six 6A/7A Conference.

Editor's Note: Since we started these much later in the offseason, we rolled these into conference previews. We'll preview conferences in the future, but here, we're just focusing on team MVPs.

Felton Grove Galaxy

[player_tooltip player_id='2232659' first='Chase' last='Watts'] | QB

Felton Grove is gearing up for its inaugural varsity season, and the Galaxy have a pretty talented quarterback at the helm. Watts is a highly athletic quarterback with some passing upside. He ran for 17 touchdowns as a sophomore last year, and he'll look to keep defenses off-balance as a junior leading the varsity squad.

Middle Creek Mustangs

[player_tooltip player_id='1328747' first='Lex' last='Sevilla'] | QB

Sevilla was a two-year junior varsity starter before taking over on varsity and leading the Mustangs to a 6A state championship appearance. He was at his best in the playoffs, showing true dual-threat capabilities. The Mustangs lose a few key pieces, but return the deepest offensive line in the class and an excellent back seven on defense. There are a handful of defenders who should have big seasons, but Middle Creek will go as Sevilla goes.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='1880225' first='Connor' last='Smith'] (Edge), [player_tooltip player_id='2077458' first='Mark' last='Smith'] (LB)

Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders

[player_tooltip player_id='320308' first='Xavier' last='Hasan'] | CB

A Notre Dame commit and the No. 2 overall player in our 2027 rankings, Hasan leads one of just a handful of defenses with at least one FBS prospect at every level. He can play multiple positions in the secondary, and unlike some other lockdown guys, he's actually had excellent production, with 10 interceptions in the last two seasons. The offense is less experienced, but the staff is high on some of the younger guys at the skill positions.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='1318716' first='Griffin' last='Cockerham'] (Edge/TE), [player_tooltip player_id='1044292' first='Skylar' last='Alston'] (LB)

Cary Imps

[player_tooltip player_id='1969827' first='Anthony' last='Atunku'] | Edge/DL

Atunku leads a veteran defense for a Cary team looking to build on a historic 2025 season. The offense loses a ton of talent, so the defense will likely need to carry the Imps through the non-conference. Atunku had four sacks last season and has impressed this offseason as he's added size and speed. If he can give the Imps just a bit more, it'll help the defense continue to hold talented teams at bay.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='1922325' first='Erich' last='Grena'] (WR), [player_tooltip player_id='1895609' first='Jacob' last='Spinks'] (DB)

Holly Springs Golden Hawks

[player_tooltip player_id='1883038' first='Lamar' last='Daniels'] | RB/WR

Daniels is one of the most physically gifted athletes in the state. He's not a typical running back, given his size, but his sub-4.5 speed allows him to play anywhere on the field. The Golden Hawks will need both a big season from Daniels and a secondary playmaker to step up to improve on last year's record, given the difficulty of the schedule.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='2232685' first='Dylan' last='Crotts'] (DB)

Sanderson Spartans

[player_tooltip player_id='2112654' first='Chase' last='Bowie'] | QB

Last year was a "Year 0" of sorts for Sanderson, which relied on a talented 2028 class with little varsity experience. Those guys are now veterans with two years left, opening a window to true contention. Bowie is the team leader, a talented dual-threat quarterback who elevated his game as the season progressed last season. A strong secondary leads a young defense.

Others Considered: Chris Harris (CB), Zyion McKoy (CB)
