Bixby's [player_tooltip player_id='1689504' first='Connor' last='Arant'] has taken over the top spot in the state's 2028 class rankings. Arant has had a very strong nine months since the start of the 2025 season. At the start of his sophomore season, Arant was a rotational player but his playing time continued to grow throughout the season and by the end of the year, he was a key two-way piece to what the Spartans were doing. On offense, Arant is a terrific tight end that gave the Spartans a huge red zone target. Defensively, Arant came off the edge and terrorized opposing quarterbacks. Since the end of his sophomore season, Arant has seen his recruitment absolutely explode with major P4 offers from all over the country. Right now, he looks like the best prospect in this class.

Piedmont speedster [player_tooltip player_id='1599209' first='Knoxtyn' last='Rallo'] continues to be one of the more underrated athletes in the state. He's knocking on the door of being a top ten overall prospect and he certainly has displayed that kind of talent over the last two seasons. Rallo first got on our radar during his freshman season. He was one of the first 2028 prospects in the state to receive a D1 offer. Then his sophomore season, he took his game up a completely different level. We put on the tape from last season and were blown away by his overall playmaking ability. There wasn't much on the football field that Rallo wasn't able to do and do at a very high level. He's certainly a 2028 prospect that needs more love moving forward because he belongs near the top of this class.

The first of two standouts from Plainview on this breakdown, [player_tooltip player_id='1259549' first='Dominique' last='Coursey'] is a prospect to definitely keep an eye on this offseason because the arrow is pointing up in a major way. Offensively, Coursey emerged as one of the big play threats for the Indians at the wide receiver position. Defensively, he also emerged as a lights out linebacker that racked up the tackles and was incredibly productive on that side of the ball. Coursey is starting to get noticed by college coaches and it's a matter of when, not if that he blows up in a major way on the recruiting scene. Coursey is another athlete that will immediately pass the eye test. We're looking forward to seeing him in person during the spring when team camps take place.

It was around this time last year that we first caught Westmoore standout [player_tooltip player_id='451430' first='Tommalik' last='Benson'] in person and in our opinion, he's been one of the better prospects in the state's 2028 class ever since. Benson had a terrific offseason leading into his sophomore season. It was a sophomore season full of growing pains as Westmoore was incredibly young and definitely went through the fires of 6A-1 competition. But now looking ahead to the 2026 season, there's a lot to be excited about when you consider how much Westmoore has coming back now. And the conversation, in our opinion, starts with Benson on both sides of the ball. He's a terrific wide receiver but he's also a lockdown cornerback on defense. The athletic ability is off the charts here.

There weren't many players in the state's 2028 class that had bigger breakout seasons than Cushing's [player_tooltip player_id='1633137' first='Lane' last='Simpson'] had in 2025. Before the season began, Simpson definitely looked like he had the potential for a breakout season but we still needed to see it. Not only did he emerge as the top receiver in their high-powered offense, but he was also one of the best ball hawks in the state on the defensive side of the ball. Cushing has been able to produce a few of these two-way stars over the last few years. All signs point to Simpson being the next guy on that list. He's just scratching the surface on what he can be moving forward. He's also the perfect example of a player that is, without question, equally as valuable on both sides of the ball.

It was around this time last year that we first caught [player_tooltip player_id='1537428' first='Gage' last='LeFrere'] in person and the arrow has been pointing up ever since. LeFrere saw plenty of playing time for Pryor as a freshman but mostly on the defensive side of the ball. As a sophomore, he played both ways and was a fun player to watch as the Tigers had arguably the best season in recent memory. A month ago, LeFrere announced that he was on the move and landed with 6A-1 champion Bixby. A couple things stand out about this move. First, it's obviously a step up in competition for LeFrere as he joins one of the top programs in the country. But it will be interesting to see how Bixby uses him and his abilities on offense and defense this spring and into the fall.

Norman North sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1834568' first='John' last='Paul Lundquist'] is the perfect example of a prospect where you're not sure what position he projects to at the next level but there's no doubt that he's a fantastic football player. Lundquist first got on our radar around this time last year while he was playing on the 7v7 circuit. It was clear that he had a lot of athletic ability and it really stood out on the defensive side of the ball. Lundquist was productive for Norman North during his sophomore season but we're really excited to see how his role continues to grow during this offseason and into the 2026 regular season. We got another chance to see Lundquist at a 7v7 event recently. He was one of the top two-way players in his division, making a ton of plays on both sides of the ball.

Rejoice Christian standout [player_tooltip player_id='1642605' first='Holt' last='Wilson'] is a 2028 prospect that we cannot wait to see in action again this fall. Wilson was one of the better two-way players in this class last fall and he was also dealing with nagging injuries. Despite not being 100 percent, Wilson was still incredibly productive on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he was a weapon at the wide receiver position. Defensively, he continued to be one of the better ball hawks in the state. Moving forward, we're looking forward to seeing Wilson healthy and playing at a high level. There's a good chance his production on offense absolutely explodes this fall. He's another example of an underrated two-way player that definitely should be talked about more moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1164601' first='Jett' last='Frankum'] is another versatile standout from Plainview to keep an eye on moving forward. Frankum had a fantastic sophomore season and we cannot wait to see what he does for an encore in 2026. We first watched Frankum in person when he was in middle school. You could see flashes that there was a playmaker there and he has certainly lived up to the hype so far in high school. Frankum took a major step forward as a two-way weapon for Plainview during his sophomore season. Personally, we think that he still has room to grow and there is a lot of really good football in his future. There's no doubt that Plainview has a few young names to be very excited about. Frankum is one that has proven to be incredibly productive.

Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1748512' first='Cal' last='Whitnah'] enjoyed a breakout season with Harrah in 2026 and we're excited to see what's next from him. In December, Whitnah made the decision to transfer over to Choctaw and will join the Yellowjackets as they try to contend for the 6A-2 title once again. Whitnah immediately gives Choctaw a weapon that they can use in a variety of ways. He played quarterback last fall but was incredibly dynamic with the football in his hands. And one thing that we've learned with Choctaw over the last few years is how creative they can get with dynamic athletes. Don't be surprised if Whitnah moves around and the Yellowjackets take full advantage of the athleticism that Whitnah plays the game with moving forward.
