Analysis

[player_tooltip player_id='254550' first='Ethan' last='Royal'] was a no-brainer selection for me at the quarterback spot after leading the Huskies to a state championship last season. The combination of Thomas-Wright and Davis in the backfield would just pound defenses into absolute submission. At the wide receiver position, I think the combination of speed and playmaking ability between Thompson, Anderson, and Fletcher is incredible, and all three of those players can play any spot in the formation as a receiver as well. We didn't do a separate tight end article, but Hawkins' versatility is a major plus, as he's a willing blocker and can split out in the formation as a receiver on the outside, while also playing some edge on defense.

Analysis

This was a hard group to really only pick 5 guys. I like having options at the center spot, and three of these players can play the position: Johnson, Hodson, and Albright. White and Albright at tackle are athletic players who can excel in both pass protection and run blocking. Hansley-McNair is a powerful interior run blocker who can stunt defensive tackles at the line of scrimmage in pass protection. Boh Johnson and Hodson can also be successful at the guard position, and are garnering recruiting attention from college football programs.

Athletes

[player_tooltip player_id='1321028' first='Amario' last='Spence'] – West Iredell
[player_tooltip player_id='378926' first='Davion' last='Jones'] – Hough
Nick Rankin - Palisades

Analysis

These three athletes all can be major contributors on offense if their respective teams need them to be. Spence can be a three-down running back, as he showed some excellent receiving skills out of the backfield to go along with a punishing running style with the ball in his hands. Jones hasn't had to play much receiver as he's been on some talented teams the past couple of years, but he's proven to be a major playmaker on that side of the ball with his speed and overall athleticism. Rankin has the ability to play a number of positions on the field overall for the Pumas, and they trust him in key spots to make special plays with the football in his hands.
