Earlier this week, we unveiled the first batch of rankings for the state's 2029 class with the Top 25. Throughout the next few days on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we'll be breaking down each prospect in the rankings, along with a handful of players outside of the Top 25 to keep an eye on moving forward. In this breakdown, we're putting that spotlight on the prospects ranked from #6 overall to #10 overall. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2029 prospect breakdowns, along with ranking updates for the 2028 and 2027 classes.

Carl Albert's [player_tooltip player_id='1741146' first='Wyatt' last='Cordray'] is listed here as an athlete and all you have to do is throw on his freshman film and see the first three plays. You see him making plays on offense, special teams and defense. Offensively, Cordray is a big target in the passing game and projects to being a hybrid tight end-type prospect with his size and overall frame. Defensively, we could see Cordray end up moving around and playing a few different positions in the front seven. Cordray is a legitimate three-sport standout with basketball and baseball being his other sports. He's also a 2029 prospect that was pointed out to us in May that he was one of their up and coming potential stars. We think that it's only a matter of time before he blows up as a true D1 recruit. He has some impressive tape at the varsity level already.

Whenever we start a ranking update, we always run across some new names that we didn't know much about prior to starting the process. Edmond North's [player_tooltip player_id='1828664' first='Rhodes' last='Molenda'] is one of those players and man do we think his ceiling is incredibly high moving forward. Molenda is listed at 6'4 and 255 pounds and played significant time for the Huskies against 6A-1 competition. He also found a way to produce at a high level on the line of scrimmage. Then you look more into Molenda and you see that he's a very successful heavyweight wrestler. We're sold. Molenda is going to be a problem for opposing offensive linemen for the next three seasons in Oklahoma. Molenda's freshman film on the varsity level is impressive to watch but the thing that excites us the most is the fact that he's just scratching the surface.

Stillwater's [player_tooltip player_id='1833738' first='Cyrus' last='Johnson'] is going to be a two-way name to watch for the Pioneers over the next three seasons. Because of that, we have Johnson listed as an athlete, knowing that he was very productive on both sides of the ball as a freshman. Between what we saw of Johnson in person and then what we watched on film, we are leaning to the defensive side of the ball because he really impressed us with his lockdown skills at the cornerback position. And the moments that really stand out to us is when Stillwater was playing their toughest competition. Johnson was matched up against some really good athletes and held his own as a freshman. Johnson is also one of several prospects in this initial 2029 ranking that comes from a proven next level bloodline. But he backed up the hype with his play on the field.

Metro Christian quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1829254' first='Brody' last='Smith'] had a very successful freshman year at Regent Prep before it was ended prematurely in week nine against Talihina. Smith came into his freshman season with plenty of hype. He's the son of former Tulsa QB Paul Smith and already picked up an offer from the Golden Hurricane. Would Smith live up to that hype? You be the judge. In their first game against Haskell, Smith threw for 470 yards and three touchdowns while also adding 98 yards and a touchdown on the ground. It was safe to say that the hype was real. In January, Smith moved from Regent Prep to Metro Christian. And we've been on the record plenty of times before about Metro Christian and quarterbacks. The Patriots are one of the best programs in the state when it comes to producing quarterbacks that put up numbers and can compete at a very high level. We're looking forward to seeing him with his new squad in the spring.

Rounding out the top ten and the fourth-ranked OL prospect in this initial ranking is [player_tooltip player_id='2124457' first='Austin' last='Skinner'] from Westmoore. Looking back on Westmoore's 2025 season, it's easy to get caught up in the record but when you actually look at the personnel on the field, this was an incredibly young Jaguar team so the lumps they took this season could end up paying off in the future. With Skinner specifically, he lined up a lot at left tackle and he's a prospect with a high upside. First off, he's one of those prospects that doesn't look like a freshman. Skinner also moves really well for his size and age and as he continues to get smoother, he's going to turn into a dangerous pass protector. Skinner and his twin brother (more on him in another article coming) are a solid foundation for Westmoore's future.
