Throughout the next few days on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we'll be breaking down each prospect in the rankings, along with a handful of players outside of the Top 25 to keep an eye on moving forward. In this breakdown, we're putting that spotlight on the prospects ranked from #16 overall to #20 overall. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2029 prospect breakdowns, along with ranking updates for the 2028 and 2027 classes.

RELATED

- Breaking Down The Top Five 2029 Prospects

- A Look At 2029 Players Rounding Out The Top Ten

- 2029 Prospects Knocking On Top Ten Door

Sapulpa tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1751862' first='Brodie' last='Chalakee'] is another 2029 prospect that was on our radar prior to the start of the 2025 season. We first watched Chalakee in a 7v7 tournament and he was absolutely dominant. His mix of playmaking ability and size made him a prospect we wanted to keep tabs on moving forward. Chalakee moved from Coweta to Sapulpa in the offseason and gave the Chieftains a prospect that has a high ceiling moving forward. Now, full disclosure, there isn't much film out there on Chalakee so the picture on him as a prospect is incomplete right now. We're looking forward to seeing him in person this offseason to see how much he's grown as a player and evolved his overall game. But despite that, we go back to what we said at the beginning. The playmaking and size make him a name to know.

At the start of the 2025 season, Southmoore's [player_tooltip player_id='1607996' first='Dai'Zjon' last='Wilson'] was on our radar but it was as a running back. That changed following his freshman season because Wilson started for the Sabercats on defense and produced at a very high level. He finished the year with 50 tackles and a pair of interceptions. You throw on the film and you see a player that looked very comfortable competing against 6A-2 competition. He made plays close to the line of scrimmage as an inside corner and he also looked comfortable as a roving safety that could find the ball and attack. His speed was something that had our attention back before the season and that speed was on full display when it came to getting from point A to point B in a hurry. There's a lot of potential for Wilson as an overall athlete moving forward.

A big theme with this initial 2029 ranking has been younger brothers stepping out of the shadows and making names for themselves. Stillwater's [player_tooltip player_id='1828955' first='Rocky' last='Kolone'] is another example of that. His older brother Nehemiah has been one of the top 2026 edge defenders for a while now. So when we put on the tape of Rocky from his freshman year and see a lot of similar traits that we saw from Nehemiah when he was a freshman, you don't need to watch much more tape to be sold on the younger Kolone as a prospect to watch. It's still early for Rocky and all the film we watched was at the JV and freshman-ball level. But the traits are there, the DNA is there and he's on a path to being a disruptive guy on the varsity level. Whether he's lined up at linebacker now or as an edge rusher in the future, buy stock now.

Ada quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1704522' first='Gabe' last='Gurley'] is another 2029 name where it feels like only a matter of time before he has that breakout moment under the Friday night lights. Gurley backed up a three-year starter at Ada during his freshman year but he's in line to take over a very explosive Ada offense. Gurley went up to our PRZ camp in Missouri and performed incredibly well. He's registered to participate in our Oklahoma camp this weekend. This will be our first chance to really watch Gurley in person. But everything we've seen on film and talking with our other PRZ writers, Gurley has the makings for being a breakout player in the near future. His ability as a pure passer has impressed but there's also another side of him where he's athletic, quick on his feet and his a weight room warrior so strength is not going to be an issue.

We are very high on Plainview moving forward when you see all the young talent they have coming up in the 2028 and 2029 classes. Another example of that is [player_tooltip player_id='2124478' first='Gray' last='Barrett'] on the defensive side of the ball. Barrett saw meaningful minutes on both sides of the ball but it was defense where the tape really impressed us for this initial ranking unveiling. Barrett also played tight end for the Indians but it was what he did on defense as a linebacker that got our attention. Simply put, Barrett was a player where he would see ball, get ball. The nose for the football and the instincts was the number one trait that stood out to us. Now, we've already said this in the last month a few times. But Class 3A is going to be an absolute blood bath with the level of team talent. Barrett and the Indians will be tested this fall.
