Throughout the month of January, we'll be putting the spotlight on some of the top individuals from the 2025 football season. From All State Teams to our Player Of The Year award and much more! In today's post, we're recognizing the best of the best in each class. This is our 2025 Players Of The Year By Class. From 6A-1 all the way down to Class A-2. These nine players were the best of the best in their respective classes. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more individual spotlights. And be sure to check out our PRZ-Oklahoma YouTube Channel for exclusive (and free) video content recapping the 2025 football season!

6A-1 Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] - Senior Running Back - Jenks

Jenks senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] entered the 2025 football season as one of the best football players in the state. After the year he had, against some of the best competition in the state, you can make a very strong argument that he finished the season as the best player in the state. Jones rewrote just about every page in the Jenks record book for running backs. He finished his senior season with 265 carries for over 2,000 yards and 41 touchdowns. As we've always said when it comes to Jones, he is so dangerous in the passing game and he showed that, finishing with 38 catches for over 400 yards and five touchdowns. Jones' performance in the win over Mustang in the regular season put the single game records at Jenks to a spot that might not ever be touched. And we'll be honest here. When we looked at the career records for Jenks at the start of the season and where Jones was at, we weren't sure he would end up on top but he shattered the record and what should be talked about more is the fact that he did it in only three seasons with the Trojans after spending his freshman season at Broken Arrow. Jones is headed to Oklahoma State and just capped off a very remarkable four years, terrorizing opposing defenses in Class 6A-1 from start to finish.

6A-2 Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] - Senior Quarterback - Sand Springs

6A-2 was one of the toughest classes to narrow things down to one player. All four semifinalists had at least one player that had a very good argument for why they were the best player in Class 6A-2 this season. But when it came down to it, we gave the edge to Sand Springs senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] for having a serious role in leading the Sandites to their first state title in nearly six decades. Webb threw for nearly 2,600 yards and 23 touchdowns this season while also being a red zone nightmare to run defenses, finishing with six touchdowns on the ground. Webb has long been considered one of the state's best baseball prospects in the 2026 class. Starting with his major step up in 2024, it became apparent that he was also one of the state's best quarterback prospects in the 2026 class. He's headed to Texas State to play both baseball and football. And like we mentioned earlier, he was one of those Sandite players that was homegrown on this team. We're sure that he probably had a few people reaching out and trying to pull him out of there (it's just the nature of this era unfortunately) but he remained loyal to the Sandites and he capped off his career with the state championship.

5A Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] - Junior Running Back - Carl Albert

There wasn't much debate on this one. Carl Albert junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] was the best player in Class 5A this season. He helped guide the Titans to another 14-0 record and another state championship. Back in August, we thought that Matthews had the ability to have a breakout season but we certainly didn't see this kind of production coming from the junior standout. Matthews finished with 254 carries for 2,033 yards and 44 touchdowns. The 44 touchdowns on the ground broke Xavier Robinson's single-season rushing touchdown record that he just set a few years ago. Matthews also threw three touchdowns and returned a punt for a score. Matthews was simply a touchdown machine this season for the Titans. In 9 of their 14 games this year, he had at least three rushing touchdowns. He scored in every single game and again, when you're breaking a rushing record at a program like Carl Albert, you're clearly the best player in Class 5A for that season. Matthews is also one of three underclassmen that are featured on this breakdown. He's already hungry to chase his own record in 2026 and help guide the Titans to another state championship.

4A Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='473754' first='Cruz' last='Campbell'] - Senior Quarterback - Tuttle

Tuttle senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473754' first='Cruz' last='Campbell'] helped guide the Tigers to a 14-0 record and the 4A state championship. Class 4A had an incredibly deep group of contenders for the top honor in this class but when you look at what Campbell meant to the Tigers, his production and his overall clutch factor, it was a no brainer. On the season, Campbell threw for over 3,100 yards and 42 touchdowns with only one interception. He completed 71% of his passes and also added three touchdowns on the ground. But the most important pass was the final one of his high school career. With his team trailing Elgin in the 4A title game, Campbell marched the team down the field and threw the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to play. Campbell went 27-1 as Tuttle's QB1 over the last two seasons, with the only loss coming in the 2024 title game against Elgin. In our opinion, there aren't many quarterback prospects that have improved as much as Campbell did from his sophomore to junior season. And we've said this before but it deserves to be repeated. When we've watched Campbell up close and in person, everything he does on the football field looks incredibly easy. There's a reason why Tuttle had one of the highest scoring offenses in the state. They had a field general who worked with surgical precision and helped them capture another gold ball.

3A Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] - Senior Running Back/Defensive Back - Sulphur

Sulphur senior running back and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] is our Class 3A player of the year. Mobly and the Bulldogs had to settle for the silver ball in each of the last two seasons, losing two tough championship games to Lincoln Christian. But for Mobly, there has been no doubt that he's one of the best overall football players in the state. He's listed as a running back and defensive back here but he's played many more positions than that over the last two seasons. This year, Mobly finished with 120 carries for over 1,000 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also caught 45 passes for nearly 900 yards and nine touchdowns. It should also be mentioned that Mobly split carries with another 1,000+ yard rusher this season. Defensively, Mobly had over 100 tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. We've talked about and written about Mobly quite a bit over the last 18 months. He is without a doubt one of the best "big game" players in the state. If it's a big game, Mobly is going to perform at his best. That was evident this year, when he battled through injury to take over the second half in Sulphur's big win over Washington. When the lights are the brightest, Mobly routinely is the best football player on the field.

2A-1 Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] - Senior Quarterback - Jones

Jones senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] helped lead the Longhorns to a perfect 14-0 record and the 2A-1 state championship. Despite facing three-time defending champion Washington, Hansen and the Longhorns didn't back down in the title game and showed why they were the best team in the class all season. He led an offense that was borderline impossible to stop with his ability to torch defenses with his arm or his legs. Overall, Hansen threw for nearly 2,700 yards and 33 touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes. On the ground, Hansen also added 129 carries for well over 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns. We've seen first-hand how Hansen can beat defenses in a variety of ways. As a junior, Hansen was getting used to being QB1 for the Longhorns after playing multiple positions during his sophomore season. And as a junior, Hansen was one of the better quarterbacks in the class but they were still looking to get over that hump. This season, Hansen and the Longhorns would not be denied. He played great all season and he was a key leader of a Jones senior group that was not going to come up short again. Hansen was just one part of their championship run but you take him off this Longhorn team and they look completely different.

2A-2 Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='1328091' first='Cooper' last='McCord'] - Senior Quarterback/Linebacker - Adair

Adair went 14-0 and beat Vian in an instant classic for the 2A-2 championship. In that game, senior quarterback and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1328091' first='Cooper' last='McCord'] left everything he had on the field. He was a warrior for all 48 minutes and it was a perfect representation of the senior season he had. Offensively, McCord threw for nearly 2,600 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also added nearly 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. Defensively, he also had just shy of 100 tackles, two sacks, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He had a fumble recovery and an interception in the title game, in addition to all of his production on offense. McCord came into this season as one of the better small school two-way players in the state. And it became pretty obvious early on that he had reached a new level this season and the Warriors had a very special team. McCord has a gas tank that is never running on empty. It seems like he always has at least one more play in him, if not considerably more. McCord and the Warriors were not going to be denied, as they won the school's first state championship in a decade. The team's motto this season was "GRIT" and there is not a better example of that from one player than McCord.

A-1 Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='1328118' first='Kamieon' last='Compton-Nero'] - Sophomore Quarterback/Defensive Back - Rejoice Christian

Rejoice Christian captured a second consecutive state championship and it was a sophomore that helped guide them to another gold ball. It was apparent when [player_tooltip player_id='1328118' first='Kamieon' last='Compton-Nero'] was a freshman, that he was a special athlete and was going to have a very successful career. He was a role player for the Eagles during their 2024 championship season but the keys to the offense were handed over to him going into the 2025 season. Compton-Nero would not only take the keys to the offense, he would lead them to new heights in 2025. Offensively, Compton-Nero threw for nearly 2,600 yards and 38 touchdowns while also adding nearly 800 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. We mentioned that he's a special athlete and he was also very productive on defense. He finished the year with nearly 100 tackles and five interceptions. Three of those interceptions were returned for touchdowns. Compton-Nero has fully established himself as one of the state's best overall prospects. And while we don't know whether he ends up playing offense or defense at the next level, one thing is certain. We get two more years of him playing Oklahoma high school football and that's a very good thing.

A-2 Player Of The Year - [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] - Junior Quarterback/Defensive Back - Talihina

This might have been the easiest class to crown a player of the year for the 2025 football season. Talihina went 14-0 and captured the school's first state championship in nearly six decades. They also have one of the best stories after the program had to forfeit the entire 2022 season. They rebuilt and a few years later, they are state champs. Junior quarterback and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] has led the Golden Tigers on this journey back to the top and the numbers he's put up along the way are without a doubt the best in the state. Offensively, Griffith threw for over 4,100 yards and 53 touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. He also added over 1,300 yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground. 75 offensive touchdowns is good enough to earn this award but there's more. Defensively, he also added 74 tackles and six interceptions. He forced four fumbles and recovered three fumbles on the year. From a stat-perspective, there isn't another player in the state that has better numbers than Griffith. He's helped lead Talihina to back to back state championship games and they captured the gold ball in 2025. He's the real deal and should be talked about more across the state as one of Oklahoma's very best athletes.
