Players to Watch for the Class 6 Playoffs

Besides a setback against Dinwiddie last month, not much has slowed the Knights down on either side of the ball. Javaris Thomas Tucker is amongst the state leaders in sacks with 14 and junior defensive back Christopher Ward already has 5 interceptions. Offensively they are stout up front and fast on the outside, their are many reasons why they were given a bye in Region Quarterfinals. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fairfax:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Lions have hit a bit of a snag late in the year dropping 2 out of their last 3 matchups. The ship was righted a bit with a win over Woodson last week and Fairfax's defense will be toughed to be scored upon. Davon Tolson recently selected as Patriot District player of the year is capping off an excellent career for the Lions, while Daryn Caesar, Jahson Payne and [player_tooltip player_id='1297914' first='Harry' last='Maltese'] all received all conference selections. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1707640' first='Anthony' last='G Mrad'] has been one of our breakout linemen for the 2027 class, he too received first team all conference honors and should see a rise in our upcoming rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Alexandra City:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Similar to their upcoming regional opponent Fairfax, Alexandra City loves to run the football and only throw if absolutely needed. Seriously expect their matchup this Friday to be completed in less than 2 hours as both teams may throw 4-5 times per game. The Titans are explosive and fast offensively behind senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1298612' first='Alpha' last='Jalloh'] and highly regarded 2027 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='766325' first='D'angelo' last='Duarte'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mount Vernon:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Mount Vernon Majors are fun to watch with one of the fastest offenses in the region. Senior wideout [player_tooltip player_id='1298523' first='Matthew' last='Moret'] was understandably voted National District Player of the year, all he did was catch 17 touchdown passes.... The Majors have more weapons too including [player_tooltip player_id='1297732' first='Dawit' last='Volcy'], [player_tooltip player_id='1718078' first='Arion' last='Cole'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1717823' first='CJ' last='James'], with a matchup in the quarterfinals with Lake Braddock looming, they need all of them step up.
