Nearing the end of the season for the middle school athletes, it's time to start digging into the X-Files and review some of the best film I've come come across on X. Since there are so many players to highlight, this will be a continuous series looking back on tape from September, October, and end of the year highlights. Stay tuned for the Instagram version coming out soon.

Make sure to check out the previous articles about the 2030-2031 classes and follow me on X at @jondavalosFB for up to date player evaluations!

[player_tooltip player_id='1638549' first='Josiah' last='Singh'], quarterback for the Montclair Cobras, put together an impressive performance, throwing for two touchdowns and 140 yards through the air in one of his latest outings. He showed remarkable composure under pressure, keeping his eyes downfield even as defenders closed in. What stood out most was Josiah's touch on the ball. He consistently placed it just over the defensive line and into his receiver's outstretched hands with precision. His ability to shuffle within the pocket and find the open window made him look well beyond his years in command and poise.

Josiah also displayed great chemistry with his receivers, particularly with [player_tooltip player_id='1635999' first='Trent' last='Lee Jr']., forming a dangerous duo that defenses struggle to contain. On one of his throws, he trusted Trent, placing the ball far out in front where only he could reach it, demonstrating both confidence and timing. It's clear he's done some growing since the last time I saw him take the field too, physically and as a field general. His combination of vision, accuracy, and poise makes him a young quarterback to keep an eye on for the future.

https://twitter.com/Jerseyjuice7/status/1978204321876455768

[player_tooltip player_id='1530475' first='Davion' last='Mims'] immediately draws attention as one of the tallest players on the field. His ability to change direction with bounce and balance makes him difficult to contain. Lining up both outside and in the slot, he creates mismatches wherever he's placed. In the red zone, Davion is a trusted target, His quarterback can put the ball up and be confident Davion will come down with it.

He also shows strong field awareness, keeping his feet inbounds along the sideline and in the back of the end zone. The September film already highlights his impact, and his end of season tape should be even more impressive. Davion continues to show why he's considered among the top players in his class.

https://twitter.com/Cantguard_Dae/status/1970886675460162008

[player_tooltip player_id='1508894' first='Vincent' last='Venuto'] is a player I had the chance to watch a few weekends ago down in Jackson, NJ, and he made a strong impression that Saturday afternoon. Vincent's tape is just as good, highlighting all of the attributes coaches look for in a signal caller. His athleticism in the pocket stands out as he is able to extend plays and keep them alive with his movement and awareness. One of the highlights was a perfect cross body throw on the run that found his receiver in the end zone, showing both arm strength and control.

Vincent's highlights also showed that he can deliver an accurate deep ball that can stretch the field and also rifle the ball in on short passes across the middle. The film matches exactly what I saw during the All-Star tryouts: poise, confidence, and precision. Vincent continues to show why he's a quarterback to keep an eye on.

https://twitter.com/Vin_Venuto2/status/1976752949809627563

Carmelo, a standout running back leading the charge for a dominant team in Toms River, is a shifty back with a big burst out of the backfield. Once he finds space, he's nearly impossible to catch, using his speed and quick lateral movement to slip past defenders. What truly sets Carmelo apart, though, is his vision. His ability to read the field, spot openings, and cut through lanes to daylight makes him a constant threat every time he touches the ball.

https://twitter.com/CarmeloFoendoe/status/1974939565875175792

Christian, in my opinion, was one of the top five players at the Jersey Shore All-Star tryouts a few weekends ago. A lightning quick receiver most comfortable in the slot, he consistently finds ways to get wide open and make plays. Christian's hand-eye coordination stands out the most in his tape, allowing him to haul in tough catches with precision. Don't let his size fool you either, he competes for the ball with strong hands, aggression, and the body control to adjust midair. Check out the rest of his film on X for more highlights that showcase just how dynamic he can be.

https://twitter.com/CSchicchi2030/status/1976634805899968779
