is a complete dawg on the gridiron. At the wide out and defensive back spots, he has all of the ball skills you need to be an impact player at either position. For Mims, he’s got those skillsets for both sides. He is the real deal and he’s must see!

immediately draws attention as one of the tallest players on the field. His ability to change direction with bounce and balance makes him difficult to contain. Lining up both outside and in the slot, he creates mismatches wherever he’s placed. In the red zone, Davion is a trusted target, His quarterback can put the ball up and be confident Davion will come down with it.
He also shows strong field awareness, keeping his feet inbounds along the sideline and in the back of the end zone. The September film already highlights his impact, and his end of season tape should be even more impressive. Davion continues to show why he’s considered among the top players in his class.

already stands at an impressive 6 feet tall. He has all the makings of a true WR1; someone who not only looks the part but plays it with confidence and control. Despite his height, Davion moves with surprising nimbleness, showing the ability to adjust smoothly and position himself to make plays. His vertical capabilities set him apart, as he combines his natural length with explosive leg power to out leap defenders and high point the football. Add in his knack for acrobatic, difficult catches, and it’s easy to see why he’s a mismatch nightmare for opposing secondaries.
What excites coaches and evaluators most is how much untapped potential Davion still has. His size and pass catching ability already overwhelm defenses, but there’s another level he can reach as his route running continues to sharpen. Getting more tape of him in open space will reveal just how much of a threat he can be when given room to operate.

is a red zone nightmare for defenders and a go-to target when the field gets tight. With elite sideline awareness, body control, and the ability to contort midair, he consistently makes contested catches near the boundary. Davion tracks the ball effortlessly over the shoulder, never losing focus, and reels it in from long distances with exceptional hand-eye coordination. Whether it’s high-pointing a jump ball or dragging a foot inbounds, he’s a reliable deep threat built for big plays.
Once the ball is in Davion’s hands, he’s electric. A true YAC specialist, he makes defenders miss with quick-twitch movements, sharp cutbacks, and fluid hips that allow him to turn routine plays into highlight reels. Built like a track star, he combines speed and elusiveness to torch defensive backs downfield and take the top off any defense. Expect this receiver to be a problem for secondaries for years to come.

In his second season as a member of the Silk City program, Mims has seemingly gone from a member of the team to one of the weapons on the outside that are more relied on. He reports himself up two inches and 10 pounds from last year’s seventh-grade season, now at 6-foot and 145-pounds. In his mid-season film, there are several more-than-encouraging plays. His tape shows off the ability to make catches in the red zone, along the side line, deep downfield and in the quick game. With that said, the film is difficult to see in some situations, so I look forward to getting more opportunities to check out the Patterson native.
