, a receiver whose tape immediately grabs your attention because of his rare blend of size and speed. At 6’2”, 170 pounds, Alvarez brings a physical profile that stresses defenses in every phase of the game.
First and foremost, his explosiveness stands out. Alvarez consistently wins vertically, taking the top off defenses on deep routes. At the same time, he shows the ability to turn short throws—like drags and crossers—into long touchdowns with his acceleration and open-field speed. Add in his impact on kick and punt returns, and the theme becomes clear: when the ball is in his hands, big plays follow.
Equally important is his dominance at the catch point. Alvarez uses his length, leaping ability, and strong hands to win contested situations. He finishes through contact, maintains control through the ground, and routinely makes difficult catches in traffic. His concentration and body control allow him to pull in acrobatic grabs that most receivers simply can’t make.
Because of that complete skill set, Alvarez has consistently shown up in the biggest moments. Game after game, he proved why he is Don Bosco’s most dangerous offensive weapon. In a class loaded with talent,

reminded everyone why he’s Don Bosco’s top playmaker. Early in the game, St. Joe’s brought heavy pressure, and Alvarez immediately made them pay. He created separation in one-on-one coverage and turned a deep ball into a 50-yard touchdown, setting the tone for Bosco’s offense.
All season, Alvarez has been one of the most reliable receivers in New Jersey. In the championship game, he showed it again — winning his matchups, getting open quickly, and giving Carson Schoen Carson Schoen 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Don Bosco | 2028 NJ a trusted target whenever the blitz came.

left no doubt that he’s one of the most dynamic pass catchers on the field. In the first half alone, he found the end zone twice—one score came on a catch that highlighted his run-after-catch ability and speed, while the other showed his ability to stack a defensive back, separate vertically, and win up the sideline. Alvarez wasn’t done there. He capped off his stellar night with a third touchdown from backup quarterback

, proving he can thrive no matter who’s under center. What stood out most was how consistently he created separation, tracked the ball deep, and used his size and athleticism to dominate one-on-one matchups. Alvarez showed why he’s Don Bosco’s most dangerous receiver and a nightmare for opposing secondaries.

was a bright spot for Don Bosco’s offense in the non-public A championship. While the team struggled to establish a ground game, Isaiah flashed his high-end potential as a receiver.
In the first half, he made an impressive catch where he broke away from the defense, showcasing his hands and ability to gain yards after the catch. His tall, long frame gives him a large catch radius, making him a natural fit as an X receiver.
While Isaiah needs to work on consistently catching the ball and maintaining focus, his physical tools and flashes of playmaking ability suggest a bright future ahead.

Isaiah Alvarez from Don Bosco stands out in the 2027 wide receiver class, primarily due to his impressive physical attributes and athleticism. Standing at a tall and long six feet, Alvarez possesses good arm length, which he effectively utilizes on the field. As an athlete playing wide receiver, Alvarez’s athleticism is evident in his gameplay. He showcases solid foot speed with the ball in his hands and excels at going over the top to make plays. His blazing speed allows him to win vertically against defenders, making him a dominant force on the field. However, while Alvarez’s physical gifts are undeniable, there is room for improvement in his technical skills. To maximize his potential and longevity as a wide receiver, he needs to focus on refining his technique, including changing direction, improving his suddenness, and honing his footwork. It’s crucial for him to develop these aspects of his game rather than solely relying on his athleticism. With all the tools at his disposal, Alvarez has the potential to become one of the top players in his class. His development in terms of technical skills will be key in determining his future success as a wide receiver. It will be exciting to see how he progresses and refines his game in the coming seasons.

Isaiah Alvarez has the potential to be a sneaky-good wide receiver in the class of 2027. One to force the issue, Alvarez goes up and gets the ball, high pointing receptions with his hands. Considering that he was playing freshman ball, Alvarez ran sharp routes for this level, creating space and often putting defenders’ hips in a poor position. When at safety, Alvarez appears cooler than the other side of the pillow, gradually back pedaling without ever panicking. This allows him to stick with most receivers deep and maintain great positioning to drive over the top on the ball. Lastly, he has recovery speed and competes, looking to tip passes rather than play the hands. Alvarez’s speed was most clearly on display when he served as his team’s quarterback. Because he played freshman ball last fall I an curious to see how his speed and skills translate to varsity. Undoubtedly, Alvarez will have no lack of competition to push him in camp.

Alvarez is one of those prospects that keeps me on my toes and humbles me, because I’m not sure why it took me so long for me to find out about him. He’s going to be a really, really good player over the next four years at Don Bosco Prep. Between his size (6-foot, 150) and ball skills, he’s going to be a difference-maker on both sides of the ball. You can line him up at either X or Z and the deep ball should be an option against most competition. On the defensive side of the ball, I like him (at this stage in development) as either a corner or a safety. There’s a lot to be really excited about with this kid.
