Mountain State Midseason DL Film Evaluations (Pt. 1)

Colleges will evaluate prospect film from the midpoint of the season to assess their progress this season, as they update their recruiting boards. He's totaled 42 tackles, 17 TFLs, and 3.5 sacks in six games so far this season, which should have him in the mix for the Stydahar Award as the state's top lineman. He's transformed his body over the years and now projects to the next level as a defensive end or tackle with a high ceiling for the position. Davis has the size and athleticism to develop into a future standout at the college level and is showcasing that potential as a senior this season. He's played primarily middle linebacker in the past, but has given the Cardinals some good reps along the defensive line this season. That position seems to benefit his skill set and size the most, as King has grown a lot through the years. He may lack length, but King's quickness and power are translating well to his new position. He's built off his success during the summer camp season, where we got to see his size and athleticism on display, and expected some good things from him this year. EDGE feels like his best position at the next level unless a college program still utilizing a fullback gets eyes on his senior film. It was always going to be an uphill battle for him with his size to play offensive line at the next level, but his frame and skillset would translate well at that spot in college. Kovacs has improved in every facet since transferring into the Bulldogs' programs, and it's translating to on-field success as a senior. He's bigger, stronger, and more explosive, which is leading to a lot of havoc created in the middle of the line of scrimmage. He's done a great job for that program since his underclassman days and has continued that into his senior season when healthy. Elder is relentless in pursuit off the end and could play as an EDGE or grow into a defensive end at the next level.
