We've said it before but we'll say it again here. Bixby has been one of the absolute best programs in the state at producing offensive linemen and the 2028 class is no different. You can make the argument that the Spartans have the state's best overall 2027 prospect starting for them at left tackle. And they might have one of the best overall 2028 prospects starting for them at right tackle. [player_tooltip player_id='1833634' first='Gavin' last='Wilson'] has exploded onto the scene this season and is not only a newcomer to the 2028 rankings but he's debuting in the top ten and as the #1 OL prospect. Needless to say, Wilson has been outstanding for the Spartans on the offensive line. The film shows an OL prospect that doesn't look like a current sophomore. His footwork is really impressive and he looks like he constantly has the upper hand in his match-ups. Bixby's offense is elite and it starts on the line of scrimmage with their emerging stars at the left and right tackle positions. Tulsa coaches have also taken notice, offering Wilson earlier this month.

It took two quarters of football in the season opener to be sold that Jenks linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1829699' first='Kade' last='Klein'] was going to be a name to know in the state's 2028 class. Klein is debuting in this latest ranking update as the #2 linebacker and he's firmly in the top 20 for overall prospects. Klein is an absolute monster on the defensive side of the ball and his motor is one that doesn't seem to slow down. We got a chance to watch Jenks in person back in week zero in the first half of their game with Edmond Santa Fe and it seemed like Klein was consistently in the backfield. Jenks had a very young defensive unit coming into this season so it seemed obvious that they would have some players have breakout moments early on in the season. Klein was one of the very first on that list. Jenks linebackers have had a lot of success over the last five years and Klein could be the next guy up. He's going to be a name to remember as a defensive wrecking ball.

Hominy running back [player_tooltip player_id='1709321' first='Malakhy' last='Harris'] is listed here as a running back but he's more like an offensive utility weapon. He is just as impactful at wide receiver as he is at the running back position. He also has been productive on the defensive side of the ball but we can't ignore all of the productive games he's had on offense. So when we started working on this ranking update, we knew that not only Harris would be a no doubt newcomer but he would debut in a high spot. So that's the good news with the Hominy standout but the bad news is his sophomore season has come to an end. Harris suffered an injury a few weeks ago and will miss the rest of the 2025 season. He was off to a fantastic start as the ultimate weapon for the Bucks to use on the offensive side of the ball. Despite the bad news, Harris is going to be a player to remember moving forward, especially with Hominy having a big senior class, having Harris back in 2026 will be big.

This offseason, Collinsville lost a two-year starter at the quarterback position to a transfer and all of a sudden, that's a position that had a ton of question marks. Not anymore. Heading into week seven, we're convinced of a few things with quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1884281' first='Carter' last='Vaughan'] in this offense. First off, he immediately passes the eye test from a physical standpoint so he's going to get a lot of attention moving forward. He can make some very impressive throws and his ceiling as an overall passer is incredibly high. Vaughan is another 2028 prospect that we didn't know anything about coming into this season but it didn't take long to come away very impressed with his overall game and potential moving forward. Now, the Cardinals still have one of the best running backs in Class 5A and that's where their offense shines. But Vaughan is a name to remember as we head down the stretch of the regular season. He's debuting as a top five 2028 QB.

Del City quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1703435' first='Syncere' last='Overton'] is our final prospect on this breakdown and he's currently listed as a quarterback but it is crystal clear when you watch him on film or in person that he's a dynamic athlete. Overton missed the first month of the season but since he's returned, he's been absolutely electric at the quarterback position. He has had success throwing the ball but he is at his best as a dynamic runner, eluding tackler after tackler. We caught Overton in person earlier this season and he probably finished with over 200 yards on the ground alone. In that game specifically, Del City could have run the ball on every play and the result would have been the same. Overton is clearly making up for lost time from the beginning of this season. He has Del City right back in contention in Class 5A. And if he continues to be the playmaking runner at the quarterback position that we've seen so far, the Eagles will be in a very good position.
