[player_tooltip player_id='1366322' first='Braden' last='Ward'] - Senior Quarterback - Pryor

The Pryor Tigers continue to win at a high level and three-year starting quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1366322' first='Braden' last='Ward'] has them thinking about the state championship. We knew that Ward was one of the better quarterbacks in Class 5A coming into the season but he's been playing at such a high level that the Tigers are a serious contender for the 5A gold ball. He has Pryor coming into this week with a 6-0 record and he's produced every single week. In one of the games that we watched in person, his first four touchdown passes went to four different wide receivers. And the fun part about that stat was the fact that the Tigers were missing one of their better wide receivers in that game. There is no doubt that Pryor is not lacking playmakers at the wide receiver position but Ward is the engine that makes this offense go. Last week, in their showdown with Claremore, he led them to a big win, scoring a little over 50 points in the process. Pryor has never truly been in the state title conversation but they are now.

[player_tooltip player_id='1328091' first='Cooper' last='McCord'] - Senior Quarterback - Adair

Adair is undefeated and in the mix for the Class 2A-2 state championship and senior quarterback and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1328091' first='Cooper' last='McCord'] is a big reason why. McCord is one of the more experienced and productive players in Class 2A-2 and he seems to be determined to go after the state title this year. Offensively, McCord is a true dual-threat signal caller but he's definitely a player that beat defenses with his running and that's where he seems to be at his best. In one of the bigger games of the season, McCord was absolutely dominant on the ground as the Warriors beat Salina in week four. Defensively, McCord is also one of the team's leading tacklers and during that game with Salina, his impact was just as significant on the defensive side of the ball. A decade ago, the Warriors were led by a terrific quarterback as they took home a state championship. They are hoping that McCord can have similar success and lead them to Edmond in December.

[player_tooltip player_id='1161913' first='Wyatt' last='Atkinson'] - Senior Running Back - Perkins-Tryon

Perkins-Tryon senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1161913' first='Wyatt' last='Atkinson'] has firmly established himself as one of the top players in the state, regardless of class. Atkinson is one of the best running backs in the state and the stats back it up. He's run for more than 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns on a little more than 100 carries. He's averaging nearly 10 yards per carry this season but he's also impacted the game in all three phases. Atkinson also starts for the Demons on the defensive side of the ball at safety. In fact, he's one of the team's leading tacklers and he's also been a turnover machine. He's recovered two fumbles and come down with two interceptions. He's also scored by returning a fumble for a score and a pick six. And finally, he's also returned a kick for a score, giving him 18 total touchdowns on the season. Since district play began, Atkinson has also stepped up his game. The majority of his 15 touchdowns on the ground have been in the last three weeks.
