I've already gone behind the scenes on this update, giving fans an idea about our thinking and decisions within the rankings.

Here, we're going in-depth on some of those stock-risers, starting with the quarterbacks. Here are our 2027 QB stock-risers.

Hulbert had a prior commitment during the Cleveland practice I attended before the season, so I didn't get to see him throw live. Had he been there, maybe I wouldn't have been so late to push him up the rankings. There's been little drop off from a fourth-year to first-year starter, something that probably shouldn't surprise us, given the track record of recent Rams quarterbacks. Hulbert commands the offense well and delivers with accuracy.

Watson burst onto the scene in Charlotte two years ago, but missed last season, re-emerging as a junior at Seventy-First. After some rust to start the season, he's gotten better every week, contributing with both his arm and his legs. He's a bigger quarterback who gets into rhythm when he runs the ball and gets hit, and that's something he's done more often in recent weeks.

McGarrigan isn't the flashiest passer, but he's effective, and he's putting up career numbers as a junior. A pocket passer with a quick release, McGarrigan is comfortable spreading the ball around--Apex Friendship has four receivers with over 20 catches and 250 yards on the year. He's not the biggest guy, but can deliver with velocity to all fields.

I love that Sigler trusts his arm and takes some risks, so much so that the interception numbers don't concern me. The recent transfer has a huge arm and has showcased above-average athleticism as a junior. His arm talent is undeniable, and I like how he's showing continued improvement this season.

Ormandy has grown tremendously as a quarterback over the years. He broke onto the scene as a younger player known for his erratic arm and athleticism. Now, he's a veteran quarterback who leads the offense well and he's a huge reason Garner is one of the most improved teams in the state. He still has that athleticism and big arm, but he's a more complete passer as well.

Sullivan and the Porter Ridge offense have taken a more measured approach this season than last year's "feast or famine" offense. Part of that is trusting Sullivan more to see the whole field and spread the ball around, rather than using his big arm to hevae 50-50 balls toward the end zone. Honestly, we'd like to see him take a few more risks, but that versatility, combined with time in the weight room, has moved him up our rankings.
