All across the Charlotte Metro Area in Week 2, there were big-time offensive performances, and we're going to highlight them here with a bit of commentary tacked on as well for select players. Please make sure you are sharing your performances with me via Twitter/X @pepman704, especially if you are in the Charlotte Metro Area, to be considered for inclusion! We will have this series all year long on Prep Redzone North Carolina, and we will recognize everyone – including linemen! Stats and film will help a TON when being evaluated for inclusion! All right, let's get started.

[player_tooltip player_id='1321028' first='Amario' last='Spence'] - West Iredell 8 Carries 210 Rushing Yards, 3 Touchdowns in victory over North Iredell - I have been impressed with Amario ever since seeing him on film a couple of years ago, and he's now starting to realize his immense potential in his game. He's helping lead a turnaround for West Iredell, starting out 2-0 for the first time in a while. With an offer from Toledo in hand already, expect more recruiting attention to come his way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1616134' first='Titus' last='Troy'] - NW Cabarrus - 160 Rushing Yards and game-winning touchdown in overtime over Central Cabarrus - Titus was impressive when I saw him at the CFI Carolinas MEGA Showcase back in May. Due to some player movement, he has an opportunity and is making the most of it as the primary running back for the Trojans. They are 2-0 and heading into an important game, a playoff rematch at home against Ashbrook this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1687747' first='Braydon' last='Walden'] - Lincoln Charter - 20-25 380 Passing Yards, 4 Passing TD's, and Rushing TD vs. West Lincoln - In a wild 72-49 game that Lincoln Charter lost, Braydon helped match the running prowess of West Lincoln with some impressive production throwing the football, and that's something we wanted to see after his Week 1 performance. Braydon, with his size and now shown passing ability, is a good bet to be a riser in our next rankings update from the quarterback position.

[player_tooltip player_id='378966' first='Savion' last='Lindsay'] - Ashbrook - 152 Rushing Yards and 3 Touchdowns in victory over Berry - Savion is really starting to come into his own now for the Green Wave, with a strong performance in an easy win to move to 2-0 on the season. Savion is meeting the heavy expectations from a stellar career in middle school, and continues to help show why Ashbrook is a legitimate 6A state championship contender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1608319' first='Max' last='Davis'] - Burns - 192 Rushing Yards, 3 Touchdowns, Receiving TD, 7 Tackles vs. Kings Mountain - After a disappointing performance as a team overall in Week 1 against Shelby, Burns showed some exponential improvement in nearly knocking off county rival Kings Mountain. Max was a big reason why, running behind an improved offensive line and showing incredible toughness and energy to be a major contributor on both sides of the ball. Burns moves into conference play now with some confidence and should start picking up some victories as a result.

[player_tooltip player_id='1305405' first='Jerrell' last='Crawford'] - Walkertown - 319 Passing Yards and 5 Touchdowns in victory over Parkland

[player_tooltip player_id='1706428' first='Aidan' last='Flynn'] - Charlotte Catholic - Three Field Goals, including a 45-yarder, in victory over Charlotte Christian - Aidan's three field goals were literally the difference in this game, as Charlotte Catholic won 16-7 against a rival in Charlotte Christian. The Cougars are 2-0 and are heading into a big game against Providence Day this week, which gives them an opportunity to really make a statement for the type of team they are this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1909760' first='James' last='Helms'] - Piedmont - 4 Pancake Blocks, 111 Rec Yards, TD Catch, 12 Tackles, 2 Tackles For Loss, Sack in win over S. Stanly - Piedmont Head Coach Daniel Dillard was effusive in his praise for his tight end's performance in this game, an overtime win for the Panthers. James graded out as the best blocker on the team, led them in receiving, and was also an impact defensive player. It's safe to say this young man is up for rankings inclusion in our next update in a few weeks when we reach the mid-season mark.

[player_tooltip player_id='1678610' first='Rashad' last='Lynch'] - Lincolnton - 269 Passing Yards, 4 Pass TD's; 60 Rushing Yards & TD in victory over North Lincoln

JaDarius McCombs - Mooresville - 9 Carries 139 Rushing Yards (15 Yards Per Carry) in victory over Sun Valley - What's special about Jadarius's performance here is that all of his work came in the second half of this game, as he did not play in the first half. At halftime, this game was tied at 14, and the result was a 49-14 Blue Devils victory, so that should tell you how much JaDarius means to this team, not only as a running back, but as an emotional leader.

[player_tooltip player_id='1670269' first='Nick' last='Cherry'] - Providence Day - OL - Named Offensive Player Of The Game In His Team's victory over Rolesville

[player_tooltip player_id='1692877' first='Justin' last='Smith'] - JM Robinson - OL - Several Pancake Blocks in victory over West Cabarrus - I watched Justin's film and was impressed with what he did in the running game. Justin was blocking to the echo of the whistle and moving defenders 10 yards off the line of scrimmage at times. It was a nice bounce-back victory for the Bulldogs, who go into an interesting game this week against AC Reynolds in Asheville.

[player_tooltip player_id='1136707' first='Nate' last='Baker'] - South Mecklenburg - OL - Nice combo of run blocks & pass protection in win over Comm. School of Davidson

Randon Mpilu - Harding - OL - Several impressive blocks in the running game & Special Teams in victory over East Meck - Harding dominated the line of scrimmage in this game, especially in the 2nd half, and Randon had several pancake blocks in this shift to a run-heavy Wishbone attack to take over the game. The Rams may not be able to do that to every opponent, but Randon showed some nice technique in his down and kickout blocks, fitting his defensive linemen and just putting them in the dirt repeatedly.

Allen “Bruno” Jones - Lake Norman - Tied School Record with 4 Rushing Touchdowns in victory over Mt. Tabor

[player_tooltip player_id='1277000' first='Damonte' last='James'] - Central Cabarrus - Over 140 Rushing Yards, 2 Touchdowns, 6 Tackles, 3 Pass Breakups vs. NW Cabarrus

[player_tooltip player_id='1600209' first='Raishawn' last='Elmore'] - Porter Ridge - 123 Rushing Yards, 39 Receiving Yards & 2 Touchdowns in victory over Ardrey Kell - So far, it has been interesting to see Raishawn primarily as a running back - typically he is known as a dynamic receiver, but more and more teams are simply getting the ball to their best players as quickly as they can, and this is another example of that. The East Carolina commit is a big reason why the Pirates are 2-0, and they are going into a good game against a talented West Forsyth team this week.

Paul Cauthen - Statesville - 128 Receiving Yards and 3 Touchdowns in victory over West Mecklenburg

Dorian Morgan - Lake Norman Charter - 151 Receiving Yards, 3 Touchdowns in victory over Garinger

[player_tooltip player_id='1321007' first='Jamouri' last='Nichols'] - West Charlotte - 254 Passing Yards and 4 Touchdowns in victory over Monroe - all in the first half!

[player_tooltip player_id='1607782' first='Aury' last='Greenfield'] - JM Robinson - 305 Passing Yards and 5 Touchdowns in victory over West Cabarrus

[player_tooltip player_id='1607878' first='Damien' last='Hayes'] - Jordan - 33 Carries, 235 Yards, 2 Touchdowns in victory over Southern Durham

Nick Rankin - Palisades - 3 Touchdowns in a rival victory over Olympic - The Pumas haven't necessarily been getting a ton of press for their 2-0 start so far in Charlotte, but their defense has been dominant so far this season. Nick is a big part of that defensive success, but the Pumas are also getting him involved even more this season, and he's rewarding their trust in him with his production in the first two games. Palisades heads into an interesting matchup this week with Clover out of South Carolina.

Grae Ponder - West Lincoln - 236 Rushing Yards and 7 Touchdowns in victory over Lincoln Charter - County Record!
