Hayes was dynamic as a junior before missing the final two games of the season, scoring in every game. He was at his best against top competition, eclipsing 200 yards against both Southern and a strong Panther Creek defense. A 1,200-yard season in less than nine full games is impressive, and Hayes has the speed and power to be even better in 2026.

Hayes had a big year for Jordan in his first season as a starter, averaging over 150 yards from scrimmage per game. It really was an opportunity thing, as he replaced a Power Four recruit and stepped in with little to no drop off. He’s a one-cut downhill runner with finesse and wiggle in the hole and when he gets into the open field, he’s able to kick it into another gear.

Damien Hayes Damien Hayes 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Jordan | 2027 State NC made the most of his limited touches last season as a sophomore. Now, heading into his junior year, Hayes is set to take over as the feature back—and he’s more than ready for the challenge.
At Jordan High School, Hayes has the size and speed you’d expect from a Power 4-caliber running back. He’s a physical runner with burst, and this offseason, all eyes will be on how he performs as a receiver. Jordan likes to use their backs in the passing game, and the Super 75 Showcase will offer a preview of what Hayes can do with more opportunities through the air.
Don’t be surprised if Hayes makes a major leap this season—he has all the tools to do it.

Hayes is a chain-mover who gets north and south in a hurry and always falls forward. He rarely gets pushed back and that’s a valuable trait for a back on a solid team. CE Jordan loses a 2,000 yard rusher, so it’s not out of the question to think Hayes could get over 200 carries next season as the offense looks to replace plenty of carries. As one of the most experienced backups in the state, it’s now time for Hayes to take over.

means you don’t get a ton of carries, but Damien did a really good job in showing his talents in the chances he got. This past season on 77 carries, Damien tallied 564 yards and 4 touchdowns, averaging a nice 7.3 yards per carry. Damien shows a nice sidestep move when pressing the hole, then accelerates well north/south when finding daylight. Damien has a nice build and has quick feet in the open field, showing good agility in space. With more opportunity next season, it will be fun to see what Damien does with it.
