The high school season is well underway, and we're covering the whole state. So far, we've previewed over 50 games, handed out dozens of game balls, and covered big-picture trends across the state.

While it's early, there's a set of players who can fly under the radar. These are the guys having great seasons, but who haven't really been in a bunch of matchup previews or haven't been given a game ball yet. Stats matter, but college coaches care about much more. Here are five senior WRs flying under the radar to start the season.

We featured Morgan as a key player for Ayden-Grifton when we looked at the Eastern Plains Conference in the offseason, but he's elevated his game, especially as a deep threat. The Chargers sit at 1-1 with one of the better offenses in 3A. Morgan, for his part, has operated down the field and has already matched last year's touchdown output, with one in the opener and two in a Week 2 win. He got behind the defense multiple times against North Pitt, and that specialized role opens up room underneath for the rest of the offense.

Karras is one of the top possession receivers in the state and is money on third downs. He operates underneath and can create space in tight areas, making him a quarterback's best friend. He's really leaned into that role this season and is on pace for an 80-catch, 800-yard season after playing two of the toughest teams on the schedule. The uncommitted senior isn't the flashiest receiver in the game, but as college teams struggle to find reliable pass-catchers who can create separation, he sits right there as a top option.

The emergence of other offensive playmakers hasn't eaten into Brown's target share or yardage. In fact, he's on pace to have a better season than last year's 800-yard, 15-touchdown year, even as the offense has become more balanced. Brown is a threat to take any pass to the house and excels after the catch. He's a wiry jitterbug of a receiver who will need to add weight in a college weight program, but he can make people miss and turn a seven-yard slant into an 80-yard touchdown.

Wilson certainly fits the bill of an under-the-radar receiver. We can't find much about him before this year, and he popped up out of nowhere, as we didn't even mention him in our preseason preview as a potential contributor in a receiver room that lost most of its production. He had not one, but two 50-plus yard touchdown catches in Week 2 and is a threat to take any pass to the house.

We mentioned Hunt before the season as a guy who could potentially take the next step as a senior. He's a strong route-runner, one of the best in the state, and the speed training he did in the offseason seems to be translating to the field. He's on pace to catch 60 passes and eclipse the 800-yard mark for a South Iredell team looking for a spark after two tough non-conference losses.
