Expert Analysis
Will Helms | Prep Redzone Scout
The emergence of other offensive playmakers hasn’t eaten into Brown’s target share or yardage. In fact, he’s on pace to have a better season than last year’s 800-yard, 15-touchdown year, even as the offense has become more balanced. Brown is a threat to take any pass to the house and excels after the catch. He’s a wiry jitterbug of a receiver who will need to add weight in a college weight program, but he can make people miss and turn a seven-yard slant into an 80-yard touchdown.

We’ve ranked DJ Brown DJ Brown 5'11" | 140 lbs | WR Harnett Central | 2026 State NC as a wide receiver, but he makes our Deep Dives list as a cornerback, a position he was excellent at last season, with 34 tackles and two picks. He’s a bit on the lighter side, but he has excellent hips and footwork to stay in front of offensive players and he isn’t afraid of contact either.

Brown can jump out of the stadium, meaning he’s one of the best contested catch receivers in the area, even with his slender frame. He has excellent body control and the ability to get down the field. Both his quarterback and coaching staff feel comfortable getting him the ball often down the field as he can stretch the defense.
