A solid, all-around defensive prospect out of the secondary for Brick Memorial goesd by [player_tooltip player_id='1453899' first='Shawn' last='Fowler']. A corner, Fowler has good speed, especially during the chaotic nature of sudden changes. On film it seems as though Fowler plays outstanding team defense. His eye discipline affords him the opportunity to drive and make plays on routes in front of him. When driving on the ball, he keep his feet buzzing through contact to stop all-and-any forward momentum. In my estimation, Fowler does an outstanding job in run support as a cover 2-type corner. As well coached as he is, he keeps his head outside to maintain his force responsibility in run fits.

Another defensive back standout from the Shore Conference is Manchester's [player_tooltip player_id='1650128' first='Stephon' last='McFadden']. A outstanding-boarder-line-excellent tackler, McFadden aggressively attacks at the thigh boards of ball carriers, wrapping well. This same aggressive nature in tackling translates to how he plays the ball - as he looks to undercut and jump routes. I would probably describe McFadden as a defensive special teams ace. That said, he MUST identify himself pre-snap on his tape.

With a frame to work with and a program that cultivates outstanding prospects, [player_tooltip player_id='1648966' first='Sydney' last='Padilla'] is already FCS-bound. As a tight end/wing you see a very distinct burst out of his stance. Knowing how to use his assets, Padilla will use his long arms to come up with catches in traffic, both extending and high topping shorter defenders. Because he has such a sturdy and unwavering base, Padilla is able to generate displacement when assigned to block one-on-one.

I love prospects who show outstanding fundamentals. For Wallkill Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='1524798' first='Travis' last='Barlow'], he is a running back who pins the ball to himself high and tight. In a similar sense, more than any other film I can recall watching recently, Barlow takes his pass protection responsibility seriously, even giving up his body to protect his quarterback. Once Barlow gets going, he motors along and can rip of big gainer. His strength as a runner is running straight ahead - that is north/south - rather than running east/west. Unquestionably there is one thing apparent on his tape: Barlow is excited to play the game of football and is fired up doing so. There is a burst of speed that Barlow possesses, as we see him nearly run through the middle of split safeties.

A prospect that I wish I had been on a bit sooner, [player_tooltip player_id='912932' first='Tre' last='Williams'] is a high-quality receiver who has noting but upside. First thing is first: Williams uses his hands to catch the ball, as any quality receiver should. A subtly to this, we see him extend his arms to accept/receive the ball as soon as he can. Furthermore, he is a hustler - hustling and continually working to set his teammates up for success way down field. Williams also attempts to use his body. We see on film that he absorbs hits well, but will also try to return the favor when carrying the rock. The well coached prospect, Williams can win on a slant route with either an inside or outside release. Expect an increased role for Williams this fall.

Lining up elsewhere in the offensive formation for St. Peter's Prep is [player_tooltip player_id='1185394' first='Ty'ire' last='Clark']. An explosive receiver, Clark has been showcased as a slot receiver and return man. With his open field vision, we see him make a single break, shake opponents, and set up his blockers flawlessly. Clark appears to have a strong body too, absorbing a hit and many times keeping balance and continuing upfield. To my eye he profiles as a short/quick/now/RPO game type player where the rule is simple: the sooner he possesses the ball, the sooner good things can happen. I thought that Clark also high pointed the ball well too.
