2027 Player Rankings: Must-See Prospect Film, Part II

<p>One of my guilty pleasures from watching film is that I get to find prospects that I <em>really</em> like. After being glued to Hudl for countless hours, here are the prospects that I thought had outstanding film and have the opportunity to be outstanding college players.</p>   <p>Be sure to follow me on <a href="https://x.com/BrendanScoutsNJ">Twitter</a> for the latest New Jersey high school football prospect news and not miss a beat!</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    <p class="text-gray-700">Not necessarily known as a bastion for football, Mercer County is represented well by the play of Ewing's [player_tooltip player_id='1691506' first='Tyson' last='Brown']. Brown has very good get off. He has a burst that is quick, violent, and disruptive. Additionally, Brown has the endurance to chase quarterbacks all over the lot, as well as the speed to apply legitimate pressure to them. There is some solid coaching going on within his position group too, as film shows Brown step down and squeeze when unblocked. On tape it is as clear as the sky is blue that Brown desires to make every play on the football field.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Tysonbrown960 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">The next outstanding playmaker for Atlantic City might already be on the roster. [player_tooltip player_id='1270705' first='Vish' last='Turner'], a receiver, is very quick off of the line. This immediate release allows him to gain optimal positioning to high point the ball and catch it with his hands. Not lost upon his is acrobatic abilities, adjusting to the ball mid-fight too - especially the poorly thrown ones. I might venture to say that Turner is quicker than he is fast, as on film it looks like he is absolutely buzzing around. That same quickness allows him to make people miss in space and makes over-pursing defenders in particularly vulnerable positions. I think Turner profiles as a slot receiver due to his quickness and shiftiness. He also can separate once in-and-behind the defense's second level and is unafraid to run routes over the middle.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/vishturner0 </div></figure>     <p>The story of [player_tooltip player_id='1540506' first='Xyere' last='Brooks'] is a sad one. Brooks recently lost his life to gun violence prior to the release of this article. Despite this, I made the conscious decision to proceed with writing about Brooks to honor his great play and talent. Ranked within the class of 2027's top 70 and the 8th overall running back, Brooks would go head first into a pile, keep his legs churning, and eek out extra yardage. AS a receiver, he high pointed the ball and uses his hands to catch it - the tell-tale sign of any natural athlete. Speed was a part of Brooks' game too, as film shows him beating linebackers to the sideline <em>and then </em>turning up the sideline in a hurry. Somewhat a human joystick, defenses must defend the entire field against him as cutback vision is full-on display. Lastly, Brooks was awfully creative in the open field making defenders miss in the most unexpected ways. </p>   <p>May [player_tooltip player_id='1540506' first='Xyere' last='Brooks'] rest in peace. <br>May his family's hurt and suffering heal.<br>May his image and memory be preserved.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Perennial North Jersey power Passaic County Tech has [player_tooltip player_id='570944' first='Zachari' last='Rosario'] set to play a bigger role this season. A lineman with a nasty streak to him, film shows Rosario as the type of player who works and keeps coming at you. Part of his pop off the line is how well he loads his hands before attacking his assignment and working up-and-into your chest. As a center, Rosario fights well and manages to win by positioning due to his play-to-the-whistle mindset. Rosario has also played guard too.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/zachrosario57 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">A prospect looking to crack the varsity rotation in a major way this season is Ridge's [player_tooltip player_id='1555709' first='Zachary' last='Blanford']. Blanford tackles extremely well, yet manages to wrap up defenders even better. I had a hard time getting a strong evaluation on him since he did not always highlight himself pre-snap on tape or early enough. Blanford does see his keys and has shown a variety of tackling forms and technique. </p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Don Bosco rosters a young, varsity slot receiver by the name of [player_tooltip player_id='751492' first='Zakai' last='Murphy']. Seeing solid burn his sophomore season, Murphy separates over the middle against slot corners and safeties alike. I thought Murphy had very good route depth in order to create space for himself. An athlete, Murphy uses his hands to catch the ball and extends his arms to deliver the ball to himself ASAP. Good ball skills are on display too, as we see him track the ball over his shoulder well. Surprisingly, I thought that film showed Murphy's size advantage over many second-level defenders.
