Week 2 Preview: Fremont at Davis, CCHS at West Broward(FL)

Let's continue our look at Week 2 and some premium games. Fremont at Davis is an exciting matchup with both teams looking to make a deep run in their respective classification. Both teams have great playmakers on both sides of the ball, and it should be a fantastic game. Fremont: They're coming off a decisive win over Weber and now face a stiffer opponent. Davis will likely be making a deep postseason run, and this will be a good test for Fremont. If they're to pull off the upset, they need these key players to come through.    Tuatagaloa will be leaned on this week as Davis will be coming from all angles defensively. Tuatagaloa did a good job of creating chaos with his legs last week, and that allowed him to find passing lanes as backers had to come up to stop the run. Should Davis stack the box, he'll showcase his arm talent and will need to beat them deep to make Davis respect the pass and not put 8 in a box.     Hadley is coming off a career game with 3 touchdowns and 115 yards on the ground. Hadley proved to be an effective three-down back and could handle the workload. He'll need to use his vision and quickness against an aggressive Davis defense and a front seven that is quick and has good speed. Hadley moves well laterally and makes defenders miss, he'll be a key player for Fremont if they wish to upset Davis.     Parker should be a bigger focal point on offense and the two-way player will look to be effective on both sides. He's a great athlete and an overall playmaker. Davis has a high-powered offense and he'll be needed to help out against one of the best trio of receivers in the state.     Moa will need to impact the game on both sides of the ball. One of the best athletes in the state will need to be a focal point. Offensively, if they can scheme him up and let him create with the ball in his hands, he can change the game on offense. As a defensive back, he'll be in charge of helping to shut down some of the best receivers in the state on the Davis side.     Bell came back in the lineup to start his Senior year and didn't miss a beat. He is an instinctive defensive back who has good length and showcases a good quick burst. He'll be needed to help contain the Davis passing attack.     Aisa is an athlete and someone who needs to be on the field. He's found a home as a hybrid backer on defense, and that role will be effective against a Davis offense that likes the short passing game to keep them ahead of the chains. He is a player who has good quickness, showcases physicality, and has good lateral quickness and burst. His skill set makes him an effective backer, either attacking or off the ball and in coverage. He might be the key part of the defense to get them off the field on third downs.     Masters is an attacking pass rusher, and he'll need to add pressure against a Davis offense that likes to move the ball around and open things up. If he can add pressure to Davis and speed up the internal clock, it could create turnovers for the Fremont secondary.    Davis: Davis opened the season against an outmatched Brighton team, and Davis spread the ball around and picked up chunk yards throughout the night. They'll have a tougher opponent in Fremont, and they'll need their key players to step up.    Bessinger kicked off the season in fine fashion with over 400 all-purpose yards and 6 total touchdowns. He has done a tremendous job putting on good size this offseason, and he's become an excellent processor and gets to his third reads with ease. His delivery is quick, and his accuracy is precise. He's made a lot of strides this offseason and will be looking to continue his tear on the season against Fremont.     Sparrow scored touchdowns on both sides of the ball last week. He is an exceptional athlete, and a potential matchup against him and Salesi for the entire night is intoxicating. Sparrow always finds a way to get open and make plays, no matter who is covering him when he is a receiver. He's an exceptional athlete, and uses great footwork and route running to get open, and he is a nuanced receiver who understands tempo, spacing, and attacking at the stem. Defensively, he has great range, moves well laterally, and has great hip fluidity that allows him to move exceptionally well, and he has great closing speed and will make a play on the ball.     Itaaehau did an exceptional job last week in finding the endzone twice last week. He is a twitchy athlete and can win at all levels. He's a player who does well in short area catches where he can create on his own. He is a quick-twitch athlete, and getting him in space is key.     Baggett is another two-way player, and offensively, he's the glue guy; he pieces everything together on offense and is a player who comes up big when the offense needs it. He infuses a spark in that offense and is a twitched-up receiver. As a cornerback, he does a good job with slot receivers and with boundary receivers who may have some length on him, but he makes up for it with his athleticism.     Young has come into Davis and made an immediate impact. He is instinctual, moves well, has a good burst, and does well disengaging from his blocks and getting to the ball carrier. He'll be an important part of the Davis defense    Corner Canyon at West Broward. Corner Canyon makes a cross country trip to Florida and what should be an exciting showdown. This time last year, Corner Canyon faced a tough IMG Academy and came away with a valiant victory in what was one of the best games of the year. This time, they hit the road to the state of Florida and take on a good West Broward team. Let's take a look at some key players for Corner Canyon.    Casuga is an elite player, and he'll put the team on his back if he has to. He was highly efficient last week against Bingham, and he's made the Florida trip before during the offseason, so it won't be new for him. He'll ensure that he keeps his team ahead of the chains and attack an aggressive defense.     A tough road environment with a bullseye on their back, that setting is primed for a huge run game to slow the momentum and eat up some clock. Briggs will be a big part of the offense and he'll help balance the offense and will tire out a defense. Briggs is a bruising power back with good footwork and has the speed to get to the edge. He'll be looking to attack and wear down the defense.     Meza had a great kickoff to the season with a 97-yard touchdown reception. He has put in the work this offseason, and he's put on good size and has exceptional footwork and speed. He'll be the primary target.     Mayberry will be an important part of the offense, and he'll be a player who will win the intermediate routes. He is slippery and a tough matchup. He'll be a player who has a great showing.     Dart is the hammer for the defense and erases and cleans up any mistakes that might happen. He is an exceptional free safety that has great range, closing speed and physicality to his game. He's put on great size this offseason, and he will be a key part of the defense.
