PRZVA Team Previews: Saint James Academy

<p>It is year 1 for Head Coach Daryl Overton at the Saint James Academy. He brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, winning and state titles to his credentials. Coach Overton won back to back state titles at Freedom-Woodbrige and was poised to win a third at Hayfield last fall before their season was abruptly shutdown. Daryl is a winner and he gets his players to the next level, if you go to Saint James game this season, any week there is a high chance of seeing major college football recruiters roaming his sidelines. Now over at the Saint James Academy, Overton is playing a national level schedule where every week is expected to be a barn burner. They have yet to play a regular season game and his impact is already taking effect. One of the more accurate passers in the DMV, he already has a number of Division 1 offers. As I said in my opening paragraph Coach Overton gets kids to the next level and in cases like Carter, he will get him Power 4 looks. [player_tooltip player_id='1313584' first='Jeremy' last='Davis'] ranks 47th overall in the 2026 class, with offers ranging from Syracuse to Boston College. Cobb is dangerous with the ball in his hands another game changer at Carter's disposal. Up to 300 lbs. now, he looks to be another anchor on this offensive line. He too came over from Hayfield and played as a freshmen last year, the coaching staff is really excited about his progress. Ranked 107th overall in the 2028 class, [player_tooltip player_id='1693312' first='Quevon' last='Mcbeth'] is a name to remember before week 1.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">After playing for Mount Zion last year, [player_tooltip player_id='853976' first='Tristan' last='Lux'] is back in Virginia to finish his high school career. Healthy and looking spry along the Strivers defensive line, he is up to 6'1 and 250 lbs.. Plays with a high motor and never quits on a play, expect to see him on both sides of the ball. Our 6th ranked edge rusher in the 2026 class, Lux may be their fullback on offense this season. The Army commit looked comfortable in the Huguenot scrimmage setting the edge off the Strivers line.
