The Saint James Strivers dominated Good Counsel 43-7 and got a bounceback performance from their defense. After uncharacteristically allowing 40 plus points a week ago, Coach Overton’s defense responded holding Good Counsel off the scoreboard after halftime. Playing for Saint Michaels the Archangel the past couple of seasons, Holland had close to 10 Division 1 offers and decided to stay in state with his commitment. With a potentially loaded squad and playing a national schedule it appears he wanted to get his recruitment out of the way before Coach Overton’s debut season began. I completely understand and I really like this fit for him. Should be interesting to see if he enrolls early their too, he could play for them right away in my opinion.

Nearly 700 receiving yards for a loaded Saint Michael’s squad as a junior should get you notice anywhere, but Matt Holland Matt Holland 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Saint James Academy | 2026 State VA seems to want more. He has been a standout for the Warriors these past couple of seasons and was excellent in front of the Saint James staff at the tryouts.

A ball hawking safety and a playmaking wide receiver. Anytime the ball is near Matt you can expect him to be making a play that benefits the Warrior’s offense. He has shown why he is a Top-20 ranked ATH in our rankings. Expect him to be a key part of St. Michael’s gameplan this Saturday.
