The Game of the week is Orem at Lone Peak. Orem is one of the most complete teams in the state, no matter the classification. They come off an impressive opener against Granger. Lone Peak pulled in some key players in the portal and has weapons all over. Both teams are looking to make a deep run and potentially state title in their respective classification. Let's take a look at some key players in this high-stakes matchup.   Orem    Ka'awa had a tremendous season opener, and the offseason size that he put on has paid dividends. He has a big arm and will be facing off against an active Lone Peak defense. Orem brings length to the skilled position, and Ka'awa will look to stress the Lone Peak defense and make them cover the entire field.     Akana is an exceptional two-way athlete, and he'll be an important part on both sides of the ball. As a defensive back, he brings good speed, anticipation, and shows the closing speed and range you want to see. He has good physicality and will be tasked to shade and cut down some key receivers for Lone Peak. Offensively, he has a good release package and shows good footwork. He easily creates separation and is a receiver who is strong at the catch point and creates with the ball in his hand.     Wesley is a large target and should be a key part against Lone Peak. He'll operate in the middle and can be a reliable chain mover in key 3rd downs, and he has the skill set to win intermediate. He'll be an extension of the run and, with his strong hands, can help Orem maintain drives and possessions. He'll be a player to watch.     Moala had six sacks last week and wrecked the game plan for the opposing team. He'll look to continue his hot hand and disrupt the quarterback all night.     Ioane will look to benefit as the edge rusher opposite of Juni and will look to capitalize on single coverage. He has good length and will continue to grow into his frame. He's an exceptional talent and can be a key player on Friday night.     Kojima will be a key part of the Orem defense. He's a backer that flashes good instincts, will disengage from his blocks and continue his pursuit, and he has good overall size to take on bigger blocks. He has good tackling form, and with Lone Peak wanting to take the pressure off their signal caller, the run game will be key, and Kojima will help lead the charge to stymie the Lone Peak offense.     Rasmussen is an athletic mover who will be asked to cover some elite receivers for Lone Peak. Rasmussen is quick twitched, has good speed, and does a good job of sticking to a receiver and showing good ball skills     Sudweeks is a defensive back who has good range and closing speed. He has good ball skills, has the hips to stick with a receiver, and is athletic enough to play multiple positions in the defensive backfield.    Lone Peak    Christensen gets another spot start, and he has done well this offseason in 7's events, and he opened the season in fine fashion. He was decisive, operated within the system, and got the ball to his playmakers. He proved to be a valuable distributor. He has another tough task at hand, this time with an aggressive Orem defense. If he continues to place the ball well like he did last week, he should have another good week. He's likely auditioning to be the guy next year, and from what we've seen, he's someone who is more than capable of operating an offense and knowing where to go with the ball.     Fonua is an exciting runner with good patience and vision behind the line. He shows a good burst once he gets to the second level and showcases good speed to get to the edge and break a long run. He has good size and has the ability to be a workhorse back.     Barney was an effective and efficient runner last week. He brings good size, physicality, and vision. Being part of the rotation and the size that he has, he will wear down a defense and will force a defense to absorb his impact. He'll look to continue to carve out a role as the bruising back this week.     Mounga saw action last week, and it's always good to see a freshman get varsity reps. He's an exciting, physical runner who has good contact balance and, once he gets to the second level, has the speed to get to the edge. It'll be interesting to see if he gets additional reps against a tough matchup in Orem.     Jaron is an exceptional route runner and has such an advanced nuance for the position. He is by far my favorite route runner of any receiver in the state. He has tremendous footwork, is great off the line and has subtle head fakes and body gestures to play with his cornerback. He easily creates separation and is strong at the catch point. He is effortless and exceptional; he'll be drawing attention from multiple defensive backs all night long.     Kennan is an exceptional two-way athlete who is a fluid receiver and is effortless in his route running. Kennan has great footwork and naturally creates separation. He is strong at the catch point and does a great job creating after the catch. Defensively, he is a premier deep safety that has great range, physicality, and does a good job of erasing big plays.     Bott is focusing his talents on the offensive line, and it'll be a fun matchup with the edge rushers that Orem has. Bott has great strength and physicality and is a player who is light on his feet. The trenches vs Orem will be key, and Bott will he at the head of the must-watch list for Lone Peak trenchmen.     Rona transferred in and became an important piece as an offensive chess piece. Last week, he saw snaps at quarterback. He's an athletic mover with good size and is physical. As a quarterback, he is a dual threat and will move the chains with his legs. He's an excellent athlete and does a good job of jump-starting an offense. If the offense is stagnant, expect Rona to come in and give them a boost.     Kingston has already made an impact as a freshman and was part of the rotation on defense. He should continue to garner reps and will make an impact. He is an exceptional talent and can play multiple positions within the defense, including any of the defensive back roles and backer positions. He brings great versatility to Lone Peak and will look to be impactful.     Rami played a key part last week on defense and was impactful on the night. He is an athletic mover who has good ball skills and he showed good instincts. He has good length, and that'll be needed against an Orem team that likes to play above the rim.
