There were standout plays across every position, but a handful of quarterbacks definitely caught my eye. Whether it was ball placement, timing, or just the confidence they played with, some of these dudes made it really hard not to take notice. A couple were already on the radar, while others made the kind of impression that'll have people remembering their names come the fall. Here are the QBs who turned heads at this Thursday's ASU 7s.

WOAH. This dude flat-out put on a show. [player_tooltip player_id='677793' first='Dominick' last='Barjona'] helped lead Williams Field to the title, and it didn't take long to see why. Early on, he dropped a couple of absolute dimes downfield — those kinds of throws that make you perk up and go, “Wait, who's that?” But what really made it stick was how he kept doing it. It wasn't just a few flashy moments — he was sharp from start to finish. Short game, deep game, didn't matter. He was throwing with precision all over the field. And the confidence he plays with makes him all the more dangerous. He wasn't forcing things, but he also wasn't afraid to rip it into tight coverage. Even though he's not the biggest guy out there, he uses his lower half really well to generate power and put some heat on the ball. You could tell he's been putting in real work. I didn't come in expecting to be blown away by him, but by the end of the night, he was the main name stuck in my head.

After rotating last season, [player_tooltip player_id='1190650' first='Will' last='Mencl'] looks like a guy who's ready to take the keys full-time. He's got that sturdy frame college coaches love, and when he needs to rip it, there's definitely some juice behind the throw. But more importantly, he looked calm and steady all night. He didn't force anything, didn't get flustered — just played within himself and let the game come to him. What really stood out was his delivery. It's a bit exaggerated and super over-the-top, but in a good way — it gives him a clear release point, and with his height, there's zero worry about balls getting batted down at the line. Everything came out clean, and you could see the chemistry starting to build with his weapons. He's in a great spot to have a big year if he keeps stacking good reps like this. Definitely a name to keep an eye on as he gets more and more comfortable running the show.

[player_tooltip player_id='884389' first='Blake' last='Roskopf'] really checks a lot of boxes at quarterback. Physically, he looks the part — tall, athletic, and smooth with his mechanics. He plays with a looseness that helps him stay comfortable under pressure, but still maintains control over what he's doing. That balance is tough to teach, and it really stood out throughout the night. He's got a group of burners around him, so being able to hit the deep ball is a must — and he's got that part down. The ball jumps out of his hand, and with his size, it looks almost effortless when he flicks it to the far side of the field. Even when a rep didn't go his way, you could see how locked in he was. He'd be visibly frustrated for a second, then lock back in and respond with a strong throw the next snap. That bounce-back mentality and ability to stay composed are big pluses at this position. Desert Edge already had plenty of firepower last season, and with Roskopf's continued growth and poise, they might be even scarier this fall. He looks more and more like the kind of QB who can take full command of an offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1369417' first='Brady' last='Goodman'], now officially committed to Utah State, made it easy to see what the Aggies liked in him. Even before he threw a pass, he stood out just walking onto the field — the dude is massive. But what really caught my eye was how smooth and controlled his game is for someone with that kind of frame. He's got one of the cleaner deep balls I saw all night, and it's not just arm strength. He's got a sturdy base, clean footwork, and keeps everything in rhythm, which allows him to really drive the ball without overexerting. A lot of bigger QBs can look stiff or slow-footed in a 7s setting, but Goodman didn't fall into that trap. He moved with intent, reset his platform when needed, and didn't let his size turn him into a stationary target. He was also accurate all night long. Didn't matter the route — he was hitting guys in stride and giving them a real shot to make plays after the catch. It wasn't a loud or flashy performance, but it was mature, steady, and incredibly efficient. Utah State got themselves a guy who's still getting better, and that's a scary thought.

[player_tooltip player_id='401151' first='Case' last='Vanden Bosch'] is known more for his mobility, so I was curious how he'd look in a setting like this where running isn't really part of the equation. Turns out, he didn't need it to stand out. He looked in control from the jump — trusting his eyes, trusting his receivers, and making smart decisions without trying to do too much. What I liked most was his feel for the moment. He knew when to push the ball downfield and when to take the safer throw. That kind of situational awareness is big, especially in 7s where it's easy to get greedy. Mechanics-wise, he's still a little rigid. The motion can look a bit stiff and robotic, like he's thinking through the throw instead of just letting it rip. But to his credit, the ball still came out clean and got where it needed to go. You could tell he's working on refining things, and if he keeps stacking outings like this, he's going to keep trending up. Solid night all around and a good reminder that there's more to his game than just his legs.

[player_tooltip player_id='401158' first='Dominic' last='Carmigiano'] had one of the tougher assignments of the night — lining up against his former team. That kind of matchup always adds a little extra spice, and you could tell the other side came out fired up, looking to make a statement. But if there were any nerves or emotions on his end, he didn't show it. He stayed locked in, kept his cool, and just went about his business. What stood out most was how clean his throws looked. He consistently delivered tight, catchable spirals that made life easier on his receivers. Not every quarterback spins it like that. His delivery isn't super exaggerated or high-effort, which means he's not going to wow you with raw velocity, but he more than made up for it with timing and touch. He dropped multiple throws right into the bucket. It was one of those performances that might fly under the radar at first, but the more you watched, the more you appreciated just how solid and efficient he really was.

[player_tooltip player_id='292113' first='Dominic' last='Kramer'] might not be the biggest QB out there, but don't let the frame fool you — he showed some real tools at ASU 7s. Even in a no-contact setting where scrambling isn't part of the deal, you could still see the athleticism pop. He's got a quick, twitchy style to him that makes you feel like he's always one step away from making something happen. What stood out to me was how focused he was on the little things — footwork, rhythm, staying balanced even without pressure in his face. A lot of guys get lazy with mechanics in 7s, but Kramer stayed sharp the whole time. The real difference-maker, though, was his delivery. It's compact and quick, and he pairs it with smart foot movement that keeps him ready to fire at all times. As his eyes move through the progression, his feet follow, which means he's always in position to make a quick, on-time throw. He's not going to overwhelm you with size or arm strength, but there's a real steadiness to his game that shows he's putting in the work. For a guy that might get overlooked walking onto the field, he did more than enough to make a strong impression.
