Over the last few months, my main focus has been to completely familiarize myself with the 2027 class in Georgia. Over the next few months, I'll provide a complete scouting guide to some of the names you should keep tabs on. We will start with the blue-chip QBs in the state.

Smaller, stouter QB prospect with impressive athletic metrics from track - 11.52 100M, 43' 7.5'' TJ (2025). (+) Clean, polished mechanics. Snappy hips, always gets back to a good base when operating the RPO game. Clean, quick delivery. Pinpoint accurate to the short and intermediate areas. Rhythm-based thrower with impressive timing. Plays "shortstop" well, making altered arm angle throws on the move. Bigger arm than you'd think for his size. Can attack each level. (-) A tick late to react to pressure. Forced some throws as you get further and further beyond the LOS.

Power Statement: Hughley is an athletic, smooth QB prospect with a stronger arm than he gets credit for. He is a true point guard-style QB who attacks each level of the field with drive and touch. Compensates for his size with elite operational skills. High floor.

(+) Tall, lean prospect with room to get bigger. Real fluid, clean mechanics. Snappy hips. Natural arm talent, can work different angles on the move. Has some flashes of backyard football on tape. Can buzz the ball even when he can't follow through on his throws. Ball comes out with some life, and all levels of the field are reachable. He hits his layups. Real easy, pretty thrower. Not a super twitchy athlete, but a better runner in space than he gets credit for. Build up to speed runner with his long strides. (-) Tends to hold onto the ball a tick too long, allowing DBs to crash downhill.

Power Statement: Prototype QB with a massive frame and clean mechanics. Everything he does looks easy. He generates easy buzz on the ball with and without a clean base. Has improved with age and as he has grown into his huge frame. Jarrard is the premier pure pocket passer in GA's 2027 class and is capable of easily dispensing the ball around the yard.

(+) Prototype frame and elite athletic traits paint the picture of an ideal size/speed prospect in Johnson. Has the arm strength to let the ball eat and launch it around the yard and the legs to stay ahead of the chains. He isn't easy to bring down once he gets going due to his speed and muscled-up frame. Coils the ball around his ear and gets the ball out quickly to the short areas. Taps into different gears on the ball to make different throws. Makes several backyard football plays, flipping the ball out with defenders at his feet. Operates well in chaos. (-) Developing the twitch needed to dodge and evade pressure. Will sometimes short-arm the deep ball, causing it to flutter and land short.

Power Statement: Johnson is an athletic specimen at QB with the size, speed, and arm strength to do everything on the field. Would love to see him more consistently step into his throws and let the ball eat. When he is on, the flashes are bright. Will get better as he matures and cleans up his mechanics. Booming potential. Reminds me of the QBs Tennessee has signed in recent classes.

Muscular, low to the ground, explosive prospect. Has generated P4 recruiting attention despite no full-time starting experience on varsity. Explosive athlete who is more quick than fast. Can dart around traffic and has the horsepower in his lower body to drive the pile forward if he wishes. Durable, physical running threat. Easy, effortless thrower of the football with low stress on his arm due to the torque he generates. Ball buzzes out of his hand with sharp spin. Can tightrope the ball into tight windows and touch it over the top as well, although I would say he is more equipped to drive it to a spot at this stage. Possesses compact mechanics with a quick release. Baker is built beyond his years and will get plenty of valuable reps this fall. He will get a re-eval from me, but the current intrigue around him is legit. The ball is pretty, and he throws the fastball like few others in the class.

Adequate size at 6'2 195 with impressive T/F metrics. PR'd in the 100M at 11.13 in 2024, long jumped over 21 feet in 2025. (+) Elite athlete equipped with speed, burst, and toughness as a runner. Can be more than just a chain mover, you can design around him in the run game. Loose, explosive hips that allow him to cut across his body without losing much velo on the run or off-platform. In fact, he is most accurate on the move and ripping across his body. Has the arm strength to threaten each level of the field. Spins the ball well. (-) Struggles to anticipate and often forces throws further down the field. Developing as a marksman within the pocket.

Power Statement: Raw as a processor, but possesses elite athletic traits and is a dynamic playmaker. Equipped with speed, explosiveness, and toughness as a runner. Plenty of talent in the arm to build off of. Has two years to reel in physical traits and become a well-rounded QB prospect. Running ability adds another element to his game. Reminds me of Haynes King.

Adequate size at 6'2 195 with room to pack on weight. (+) Slick, smooth athlete who flashes a hot motor to escape chaos. Has the speed to be more than just a chain mover with his legs. Utilizes his juice mostly to create space for himself to launch. Elastic, quick arm action. Can push the ball while working off-platform and dealing with pressure at his face. Generates off-script wow plays. Flashes of good pocket play when he stands in there. Has requisite arm strength to drive the ball into tight windows, but will need to keep his release quick to do so. (-) Will hold onto ball too long, letting backside pressure get home. Timing-based misfires with receivers on occasion in the short areas.

Power Statement: Hunter is a silky smooth athlete playing the QB spot who embraces action when the play breaks down. He has a hot motor to escape chaos and pairs that with an elastic enough arm to make wow throws. Will need to play more on time with his receivers in the drop-back passing game, but the flashes indicate he is capable of picking up chunk plays in the air if he can be reigned in. He pairs that with athleticism, making him a true dual threat.

Shorter, stout, explosive prospect with gifted traits. Standalone elite athlete outside of his QB skills. Would be considered an elite athlete at any position, and has even generated some buzz as a positionless player. PR'd in the 100M in 2025 at 10.52. He is equipped with both speed and quickness as a runner, pairing his breakaway speed with the explosive ability to cut, bob, and weave through and around traffic. As a passer, the ball looks to flutter at times, but he keeps everything compact around the ear and gets it out quickly. He has some horsepower on the ball, and it arrives loud. If he sticks at QB, Murphy has an argument for the most freaky QB prospect in the country from a pure traits perspective. He holds several P4 offers, and I expect his recruitment to take shape over the next 6 months or so. Will re-eval, hopefully in a full game setting, at a later date.
