The next wave of elite talent is ready to dominate this fall. The Class of 2027 is absolutely loaded up at the WR, RB, and TE spots. I have a feeling we see quite a few of them eventually playing D1 football. Before they can do play at the collegiate level, this group of young men need to make their presence felt on the varsity field, or continue to for some. While the Class of 2027 is preparing for their first season as upperclassmen I want to take time to dive into the film and talk about just how dominant this next generation of talent is. The seven athletes in today's article all dominant in their own way. Let's turn on the tape and see how they do it!

Bryce is one of the best pure athletes in the Class of 2027. He checks in at 6'2" 170 lbs with elite athletic attributes. Let's start with his play at WR. Bryce is quick off the line and can hit top speed within a few yards of the line of scrimmage. That allows him to stack the corner on deep routes or force them to bail when playing off coverage and then show off his agility and body control as he makes a quick route break under the DB. Even when the DB is in correct position, Bryce is excellent at timing and high pointing the ball with strong hands all the way to the ground. Route running, hands, body control, balance, and elusive running after the catch are all over his highlights.

Flip to the defensive side of the ball and the athletic traits still shine. They allow him to easily turn and run in man coverage or close quickly in zone. The closing speed is huge for him because of his ability to bait QBs into bad throws. I'm confident the 2027 ATH can play either side of the ball. As a sophomore he put up 1,000+ yards, 11 TDs, and grabbed 5 INTs. Get ready for a show this fall.

Another outstanding WR/DB 2027 is Lorenzz Pratt out of Kenosha Bradford. The 6' 165 lbs athlete has been a varsity contributor since he was a freshman. I love the way he plays on Friday nights. He has all the physical tools necessary when it comes to agility, acceleration, balance, route running nuances and reliable hands. What separates him is the physicality that the 165 lbs athlete brings to the field. On offense Larenzz has the elusiveness to make DBs miss, but he also won't hesitate to lower the shoulder and earn some tough yards. That carries over to defense where the sophomore will close on the ball like he is shot out of a cannon and deliver huge hits. Pratt is on his way towards big things based on the way he plays. He is must watch.

Another talented, intriguing, and impactful two way varsity starter as a sophomore is [player_tooltip player_id='1335706' first='Zach' last='Hewitt'] of New Berlin West. The offensive side of the ball is where I'm most impressed by Zach when I watch through the tape. He is already such a smooth athlete with that elite 6'3" 180 lbs frame. Zach offers a huge catch radius with his wingspan, ability to catch the ball away from his body, and leaping ability to go up and get the ball. Zach's ability to find and adjust to the ball in flight is another major strength as his positioning at the catch point to box out DBs. I have a feeling we see the big target take another step towards being one of the top mismatches in the state with his size, ball skills, and smooth athleticism.

A lot of these stud sophomores have one thing in common. They all make an impact on both sides of the ball. Today's focus is on offense, but definitely consider them for more than that. Next up in that mold is Lake Mills' [player_tooltip player_id='1336912' first='Dylan' last='Brinkmann']. I love the way this dude battles for his QB downfield. Just put it up close to him and Dylan is going to find a way to reel it in. The tape shows an outstanding ability to adjust to the ball, or go and get it. He has some outstanding catches in traffic under his belt as well. Dylan does so well with his hand eye coordination and concentration. The athletic traits around those tools are also dominant. Dylan has the ability to cut on a dime with explosive lateral burst. It feels like he already knows his next move as the play is unfolding. The sophomore is an exciting two way player to keep a close eye on.

We go from one of the most agile athletes in the class to one of the most physically imposing athletes in the class. Tristan is an imposing 6'2" 230 lbs running back. As you might expect, Tristan is a load to bring down. He is a one cut runner that has no problem running past arm tackle attempts. He is so big and strong that you get caught off guard when you see him hit the open field and hit that second gear to pull away from the field of defenders. Berrens is a workhorse back that can wear down a defense with his hard-nosed running style. This is definitely a kid to get your eyes on this summer and fall.

An athlete who is quickly becoming one of my favorite new hits on the radar is Green Bay Notre Dame's [player_tooltip player_id='1733768' first='Joey' last='Massey']. The sophomore is developing at a rapid pace. He has a fantastic frame at 6'3" 230 lbs. Joey's mobility, balance, flexibility, and fluidity are very well developed, making him a smooth and explosive athlete on the varsity field. Massey is also becoming a complete TE prospect. He is a dominant run blocker. The sophomore uses leverage, runs his feet through contact, has good hand placement, and has the power to overwhelm his opponent. As a receiver Joey runs angry. You can't tackle him high or he is going to throw you to the side with his strength and balance through contact. I'm very excited to watch him take that next step into a bigger role this fall and make a name for himself. Get on this kid today. Big things ahead for him.

Coaches, Bay Port has a ton of talent on their roster. There is a lot of established talent, but [player_tooltip player_id='1733765' first='Clark' last='Butler'] is going to be establishing himself this fall as a varsity game changer and needs your attention. The 6' 180 lbs sophomore spent a good chunk of his time on JV where he put up a field flipping 21.2 yds/rec. The '27 is ready for the varsity jump physically. On tape you see him eat up cushion from DBs and quickly pull away on deep routes. His acceleration out of route breaks opens up a ton of separation from DBs, and if he can get them to bite the wrong way with a head fake it's over from there. Clark is able to hit that second gear instantly too. Physically, he is going to be a tough matchup for any DB this fall. On top of those athletic tools, Clark also has developed trustworthy hands for his QB. He naturally plucks it out of the air and will fight for it in traffic. Butler checks a lot of boxes and that has us excited for what is to come. Keep a close eye on this kid.
