What Do We Have Here?

Finding athletes with the desire to play at the next level and shining the spotlight on them to help them get that attention they need to make it possible. One of my favorite parts is when I find a new athlete that I was unaware of. The athlete that pops up while I'm looking at stats, or diving into a roster, or in attendance at a camp and makes me go "What do we have here?" That is such an exciting moment as I get to learn about a new player and the talent they have and can offer the next level. I keep a list of those players and have them saved for the next rankings update. I don't want to wait for the next update to talk about these kids though. So we are going to talk about them now. The most recent athletes who have caught my eyes and had me asking... He just hit my radar this offseason and the All Conference Honorable Mention OL &amp; DL definitely has the talent to carry him on to the next level. I love the power this kid brings to the field. You see it early in the tape as he flattens OL trying to kick him out. Dominic takes the fight to the opponent and never waits for his opponent. He is aggressive and attacks. Yet while he has all that power the '27 OL/DL is still able to be so light, sudden, and explosive on his feet. The Oak Creek 2027 OL primarily held down the center position this past season. Jacob's talents match the interior of the OL. He has that lateral agility in a phone booth, quickly sliding to pick up DL, give help to his guards, or pick up a blitzing LB. I love the power Jacob flashes, especially when the OL is working laterally. Jacob is able to create a push while helping to stretch the field laterally. I can see Jacob is a zone scheme where he can let that athleticism shine. Jonah has that next level frame at 6'2" 185 lbs. He brings so much playmaking abilities between his arm and his dangerous dual threat talents. This kid can sling it. You see him drive it deep downfield with velocity. The '27 has very sound technique that has helped him to be a consistently accurate passer. That athleticism also allows him to throw on the run and escape the pocket while still looking to throw. Then you see the speed he does have when he breaks the line of scrimmage and it is clear that Jonah is a weapon that can change a game on any snap. He is working hard this offseason too so look for him to be even better as a passer this summer/fall. The 6'1" 265 lbs sophomore possesses a rare blend of power, quickness, and violence. A combo that I am confident will earn him plenty of interest and offers from the upper levels of college football. Samuel already has such an explosive first step off the snap and there is no delay between that speed and playing with violence from his leg drive to his active hands. It is so great to see his motor match that talent as he seems to be going 100 mph in every rep of his highlights. I can't wait to see him take the next leap this offseason. While that might not be his home Jay has the talent to at LB. The tape at DE has me thinking Jay could even have an impact blitzing off the edge in scenarios. You see the range from the edge, a quick first step, and enough power to be able to set the edge and shed blocks to hold up against the outside run.
