Grafton is coming off a State Championship, and despite the dominant season we are seeing them return quite a bit of talent. One standout is OL/DL Sam Heerey who was a 14 game starter for the team in 2025 as a sophomore. The 6’1″ 265 lbs lineman has a 6’6″ wingspan and 10.5″ hands, so we might not be done seeing that frame continue to grow. This past season the tape shows us a kid with lightning quick burst and agility, especially for his size. On the offensive side of the ball he has fantastic range, getting downfield and making key blocks. It is impressive to see an underclassman not only have his traits, but also play with the technique and IQ he shows while also playing both sides of the ball. Sam should have a monster year for Grafton.

This kid had my jaw dropping while watching through his sophomore highlights. The 6’1″ 265 lbs sophomore possesses a rare blend of power, quickness, and violence. A combo that I am confident will earn him plenty of interest and offers from the upper levels of college football. Samuel already has such an explosive first step off the snap and there is no delay between that speed and playing with violence from his leg drive to his active hands. It is so great to see his motor match that talent as he seems to be going 100 mph in every rep of his highlights. I can’t wait to see him take the next leap this offseason. This is definitely an athlete who had me asking “What do we have here?!”
