About Luke

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as aggressive, Competative, and to the whistle. Each rep/play I go 100% until I hear a whistle or until the play is dead. I have the mindset of beating the guy across from me and dominating and executing my responsibility for my team and my position.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a hard-working player who just wants to get better. No matter if it's new moves for linemen, new test-taking tricks to get better scores, or even being a better person in public. I strive to be 1% better and always hold myself to a higher standard in school, Football, religion, and life.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

- Im in FBLA, - Eagle scout Rank (BSA)

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have Developed Leadership by helping out the underclassman no matter if it's helping them with technique in the weight room, Plays on the field, or helping them in school. I have also developed teamwork by playing sports and learning that success is built from having good teamwork and not just playing for yourself.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had to face many significant challenges, most being staying motivated because sometimes I feel like I should have gotten one thing when I didnt and I remind myself each time that you have to just trust the process, stuff happens, but you have to go through the downs in order to go up in success.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a good bond and relationship between coaches and players. I'm looking for a college whose mindset is to get better 1% each day, and looking for a college that pushes me to my limits and helps me become better.

Luke is in line to compete for a massive increase in varsity playing time on the DL. Grafton graduates a lot of talent at the position and the 6’4″ 225 lbs 2028 could be up next. In 2025 the sophomore spent time playing JV while also getting a taste of varsity action. Luke flashes a solid first step that has gotten him into the backfield quickly. It is great to see him playing with his hands and using that length of his to keep himself clean so he can be quicker to shed and make tackles. This offseason is the time for him to push himself to that next level. Become quicker, stronger and build upon his hand use technique. I’m excited for what is to come from the 2028.

We had a great representation of up and coming edge defenders. One of the members of that group was Luke Schubert Luke Schubert Luke Schubert 6'4" | 240 lbs | EDGE/DL Grafton | 2028 State WI of Grafton. The 6’4″ 215 lbs athlete has a 6’4″ wingspan and elite 10 7/8″ hands. Luke came out after his team won a State Championship a week before, so the kid clearly loves to compete and learn. Luke is on the verge of taking that next leap in his production. He has length, plays with a solid first step, and can play with heavy hands and a strong initial punch to create separation. As he gets more and more experience with his hand fighting and pass rush moves he is going to be so much more impactful and dangerous. Keep an eye on this kid. The tools are coming together.
