Yesterday, PrepRedzoneMN, as well as a host of college coaches and social media outlets, descended on Concordia-St. Paul's indoor dome for a day of testing and offensive-minded drill work primed to develop quarterbacks and wide receivers. If you don't know 612Qs and 612WRs, founded by Robbinsdale Armstrong and Augsburg alum Quinn Frisell, has revolutionized the landscape of Minnesota's offseason football development, particularly with the quarterback position, and is more importantly a good person who is in the game for the right reasons. With a decorated coaching staff that includes some of the Land of Lakes best signal-callers of the last half-decade, 612Qs is invested in Minnesota athletes across the state, and they put on a quality showcase today in the 651. Tons of reps, high-quality coaching, six different states represented on the athlete roster, and some high-profile Upperclassmen Standouts who put on quite the show. Check out my favorite 2026 performers below!

--

Alpha Dog: [player_tooltip player_id='1255129' first='Q' last='Barnslater'] (Apple Valley) 2026. WR.

Named WR MVP by the 612Q's decorated coaching staff, Apple Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='1255129' first='Q' last='Barnslater'] also walks away with the title of PrepRedzoneMN's Alpha Dog of the 2025 612Q's Showcase at Concordia-St. Paul. After recently receiving his first offer, which happened to come from powerhouse North Dakota State, Barnslater was first and foremost in my sights as the #1 prospect I wanted to see on Sunday. Even though the junior didn't test, he was far and away the best player in attendance who my eyes kept finding again and again during drill work and routes on air. Barnslater runs and cuts with 0 wasted movement, and could really get vertical with speed and pace, showing a smooth ability to track, find, and play deep balls well in and out of the air. Barnslater had a very memorable rep where the Apple Valley junior caught two different balls and passes in a single rep, as the QBs, standing side-by-side behind the LOS, got mixed up as to who was throwing to who. No worries, as Barnslater caught one, flipped it aside, and then caught the other just for good measure. He was consistently smooth and explosive, with a twitchy route-running ability that fluid and sudden, and he shut his routes down exceptionally easily. I loved watching Barnslater work, and after getting a good hour of feeling him out and watching him, it's no surprise the Bison got involved. He's going to have a monster senior season, that much I can assure you guys.

Biggest Stock Riser: [player_tooltip player_id='1491934' first='Joseph' last='Mapson'] (Andover) 2026. QB.

My QB MVP of the 2025 612Q's Showcase played himself into quite a significant rankings bump in the coming weeks, pulling off a fantastic performance yesterday at Concordia-St. Paul created some major buzz amongst the college coaches in attendance on Sunday. To kickstart the performance, Mapson measured in at a legit 6' and 172 pounds, and holy moly did he blow away the testing. Mapson went 29.3" in his vertical, clocked an eye-popping 4.67 40 on the lasers (!), and went 4.34 in the 5-10-5 shuttle to highlight some outstanding athleticism as a duel-threat QB. Not only that, Mapson can really sling the rock. The Andover junior had the most consistent performance of any QB in attendance, throwing with timing, accuracy, and confidence to all three levels of the field. He also had one of the quickest releases in attendance, with a tight, compact throwing motion, and was overall on the money throughout the day of drills and competition. With Concordia-St. Paul and MSU-Mankato offers already under his belt, and Mapson is already making big inroads on the recruiting trail and is only creating more and more steam as he develops and betters his game. Still a bit raw, but this kid's future is bright. What a showing by our Biggest Stock Riser.

Quarterbacks

[player_tooltip player_id='1126287' first='Nick' last='Stellrecht'] (New Richmond, WI) 2026. 6'5, 230 lbs.

New Richmond, Wisconsin product Stellrecht was my runner-up for QB MVP & Biggest Stock Riser, and holy cow was this kid making waves at the 612Q's Showcase yesterday. The coaches were buzzing about the massive junior gunslinger from over the border, as were the receivers, as were the parents, and as was PrepRedzone. With a cannon of an arm that could stretch the field as easy as a simple slant or hitch route, Stellrecht had a particular rep where he flicked the ball 45+ yards downfield, hitting the check-in table, on the fly and off his back foot in what was an eye-popping display of arm strength. Stellrecht was also mechanically sound and concise in his arm rotation and release, had one of the tightest spirals in attendance, was consistently accurate to all three levels of the field, and was measured in at a verified 6'5, 229 pounds with a 28" vert and a very very near sub-5-second 40 for good measure. The New Richmond junior was a pleasure to watch and should create some tidal waves on the summer camp circuit in the coming months. College coaches: check this kid out!

[player_tooltip player_id='1220684' first='Brock' last='Matheny'] (Grantsburg, WI) 2026. 6'3, 195 lbs.

Matheny represented Wisconsin well, bringing a filled-out frame to the table and the size to get a scholarship collegiate program excited. Matheny threw for over 2,000 yards in 2024, 2,035 exactly, and showed why at CSP's Dome, as he was consistent in his mechanics and could stretch the ball to all three levels of the field and hit every route on the route tree. Lots of high school reps and wins, production, size, arm strength, and a 64% completion percentage last fall all make me think he has the makings to be a successful collegiate QB wherever he ends up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1201408' first='Grant' last='Benson'] (Buffalo) 2026. 6'4, 200 lbs.

Big kid who could really stretch the field and a knack for throwing the deep ball. I didn't get to see him as much as I would have liked, but I did spy Benson throw a beautiful deep fade that dropped right into the receiver's breadbasket. Lot of raw talent to work with in the Buffalo gunslinger.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602783' first='Garett' last='Lidke'] (Braham) 2026. 6'3, 180 lbs.

First time seeing the Braham product in person and I walked away impressed. Lidke is tall, lean, and long, with a frame that could wear 40 more pounds with ease, and Lidke could really spin the rock with some torque and velocity. He was a bit inconsistent when working the ball downfield, but he had some strong reps that showed off timing and arm strength in abundance.

[player_tooltip player_id='592128' first='Peyton' last='Meyers'] (Benilde-St. Margaret's) 2026. 6', 185 lbs.

The more I see of Meyers the more I like him. The rising senior is a confident and consistent presence at every live event I see him at, and he had another good showing at the 612Q's Showcase. Meyers is accurate to all three levels of the field and has smooth mechanics that he's worked on tirelessly throughout his high school career, and it shows, as he's got good command of the ball overall.

Wide Receivers

Ben O'Neil (Mankato West) 2026. 5'10, 174 lbs.

Yet another Mankato product to know, I didn't get to watch O'Neil as much as I would have liked, but I did catch a rep that really caught my eye late in the routes on air segment of the 612Q's Camp. In a casual, been-there-done-that motion, O'Neil made a smooth and beautiful play on the ball on a back-shoulder fade that displayed some serious bounce, ball skills, and body control. Plus, O'Neil went 28.2" on the vert, a 4.91 laser 40, and 4.75 on the shuttle, so he's a good athlete coming out of a powerhouse 5A program in Southern Minnesota. Always worth recruiting MW products.

[player_tooltip player_id='1220758' first='Caden' last='Matheny'] (Grantsburg, WI) 2026. TE.

Verified, 6'7, 209 pounds and as lean as could be. Let's start there. The Grantsburg product also added a 28" vert, 5.01 40, and 4.97 shuttle, so you're getting a large and versatile athlete with a ton of upside, especially once you get him a college S&C program. Matheny, especially for his size, did a good job of breaking his routes off cleanly and smoothly, and could generally change direction well as a route runner. Matheny also brings plus length to the table and a big catch radius that comes with it. Another solid showing from a Wisconsin product at the 612Q's Showcase!

[player_tooltip player_id='1289981' first='Caleb' last='Kamara'] (Burnsville) 2026. RB.

Things are on the come-up at Burnsville High School. With a drop-down to Class 5A, the Blaze are poised to bring their 6A experience, along with a roster full of youth, as they regain their bearings as a prep football program. Not only do the Blaze have youth, but they also have arguably the state's fastest player in RB [player_tooltip player_id='1289981' first='Caleb' last='Kamara']. After unfortunately missing the 2024 season due to injury, I've been itching to get some eyes on Kamara, as well as his recovery, as things have been looking optimistic given the sprint and track times he's been posting with Burnsville since getting healthy. I'm pumped to report that Kamara is back to his old explosive self, as he popped off an exciting 4.68 40, 34.7" vert, and 4.31 shuttle for what has my pick for the best overall testing performance of the entire 612Q's Showcase. Kamara also showed some juice as a route runner out of the slot, as he was quick out of his breaks and when changing direction, displayed loose hips, and had soft hands as a pass catcher. I cannot wait to see what this dude is going to do in pads in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1248709' first='Dane' last='Birr'] (Hudson, WI) 2026. 5'11, 168 lbs.

Another good live showing for Birr, who has been all over the Midwest on the camp and 7v7 trail. Birr showed some of the better releases I saw at the 612Q's Showcase and was sudden in his change of direction ability as a route runner.

Duncan Schuette (Totino-Grace) 2026. WR.

Measuring in at a verified 6'3, 175 lbs., Schuette was the real deal at playing the high ball, in large part thanks to his 31.7" vertical and plus length with a ton of room to fill in. Was locked in, competitive, and is coming out of a talent factory that is Totino-Grace High School.

[player_tooltip player_id='924222' first='Henry' last='Hauge'] (Lakeville South) 2026. TE.

Another weekend live event, another exposure point to Lakeville South's [player_tooltip player_id='924222' first='Henry' last='Hauge']. This dude has my backing as one of the hardest working 2026s in Minnesota, who seems to pop up at any and every workout, training, camp, or opportunity to compete. Just last weekend I saw Hauge compete as a DE at the LOS Big Dawgs Camp, so to see him running routes, unlocking his hips, plant & drive, and work vertically again cements my thought that Hauge's functional athleticism and versatility really bode well for his future college suitor, no matter what position is it. Not only that, Hauge has been getting bigger, faster, and stronger, and he blew the roof off the 612Q's Camp in the testing department. Measuring in at a verified 6'5, 262 pounds, Hauge jumped 24.6" in the vertical and followed it up with an astonishing 4.853 laser 40 and an exceptional 4.51 shuttle to once again force himself on the podium as one of the state's most athletic 2026s. The top speed shows up when he works vertically as a wideout, and he displays good command of the route tree with quick and impressive COD ability. Army, Northern Iowa, and Air Force have all smartly offered up so far. More to come!

[player_tooltip player_id='343080' first='Owen' last='Egge'] (Stillwater) 2026. 5'10, 166 lbs.

Good to once again see Stillwater's [player_tooltip player_id='343080' first='Owen' last='Egge'] live and in person, this time at the 612Q's Camp. Egge was a standout in every part of the 612Q's Camp, and he was a can't-miss route runner during drills and routes on air. Egge's experience as a route runner and at creating separation show up in his command of the route tree, twitch, and silky smooth COD ability in and out of his cuts. He also tracks the deep ball, shows some high-point ability and ball skills, and was one of the best route runners in attendance. Egge and Stilly are poised for big-time 2025 seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1613489' first='William' last='Becker'] (St. Francis) 2026. TE/DE.

The St. Francis standout junior didn't test, but he did measure in at a legit 6'5, 225, and although we like him as a DE at the next level, it was good to see him move, change direction, and catch the rock in person. Becker showed good hands that could reel in catches away from his body and showed some comfortability at tracking and playing the ball in the air. Really wish he would have tested but a good initial first eye test on the possible big-tim stock riser.

[player_tooltip player_id='1425960' first='Jaidyn' last='Garibaldi'] (Benilde-St. Margaret's) 2026.

The 5'10, 159 lber. out of Benilde-St. Margaret's was another kid I was itching to get a first look at live and in the flesh, and Garibaldi passed the test, although he unfortunately elected not to test. The junior was one of the most explosive receivers in attendance, played and acted as a true deep threat, and showed off body control when playing the ball in the air. Can't wait to see some more of this dude this summer.

Patrick Mix (Minneapolis Camden) 2026.

Something special going on at Minneapolis Camden, who have a heckuva 2027 class that will quickly begin to make noise in the 612, Section 4, and Class 4A overall. However, the Patriots had an exciting rising senior make some waves, as slotback Patrick Mix was a favorite of the PRzMN scouts in attendance. A smaller receiving option out of the slot, Mix posted a 27.4" vert, 4.9 laser 40, and 4.79 shuttle, raising some exciting prospects about Mix, his athleticism, and how that translates to the next level. UMAC, MIAC, GPAC, and MCAC schools, get him on your boards!
