It is go time for Brock and Grantsburg as they look to make a return trip to Camp Randall in late November. It started this past Friday with an elite display of accuracy and overall arm talent from Brock. In rhythm, off platform, on a rope, or dropping it in a bucket. Brock made a highlight worthy completion in every one of those ways. The senior QB has made strides in terms of arm talent. There is more velocity on the ball than last year while still maintaining pinpoint ball placement. The growth has caught the eye of the next level too as he just recently earned a D2 offer from Winona State. Grantsburg is rolling, as is the senior QB. Check him out!

In one of the top, small-school matchups Brock and the Grantsburg offense put on a show. The high-flying offense was too much to handle as Brock spread the ball around the field and even got it done with his legs. Brock showed a bit of everything in this week’s highlights. The ability to be accurate off platform and on the move. The ability to stand tall in the pocket and go through progressions. The arm talent to put the ball anywhere he needs it, and with the velocity required to hit windows. Plus when the play breaks down Brock is going to keep his eyes downfield while buying time. The senior QB is putting together a great early season as he and his team look to get back to Camp Randall in November.

Every time I see Matheny, I wish he played in Minnesota and not Wisconsin. The kid is chock full of talent and has a litany of traits that colleges look at for a scholarship QB. Boasting a big arm and the ability to let the ball fly deep, Matheny hit several well-placed seam and fade routes throughout the night. He also ripped a handful of quick slants where the velo on the balls caught my eye. Matheny is starting to garner more attention, but it’s shocking how he doesn’t have a reported offer yet. He’s going to be a big-time steal for whoever lands the Grantsburg product.

Brock is a small school prospect with big time talent. The 2026 led his team to a State appearance back in 2024, utilizing his passing abilities to keep his offense perfectly balanced and the defense on its heels. The 6’3″ 195 lbs passer has spent a ton of time working on his craft, so it is no surprise that his game is well refined. Even going back to his junior tape you see him stand tall in the pocket, be able to move and reset quickly, play with fine tuned mechanics, and be accurate to every level of the field. The D3 level here in WI is going to get a steal based off the current offers that the studs in this class have. Brock is one of those steals with offers from Oshkosh and Eau Claire.

Matheny lit it up in Wisconsin last season, with a state runner-up and a 2,000 passing yard season to his name. He’s got that 6’2″+ frame that makes him an already appealing prospect, but he was also dropping dimes to receivers all morning. Pinpoint accuracy is attached to another one of the camp’s top arms, and his success in the dome was instantaneous. He’s got stellar touch, can rocket balls on short routes, and dot receivers up from 35+ yards away. This kid has all the potential to cause serious problems at the next level.

. Brock put together a great junior season that ended with a trip to Madison for a shot at a State Championship. While they didn’t bring home the win Brock was able to set multiple State Championship Game records. Watching the highlights it is clear that Brock is developing a collegiate arm and all around QB skill set. His arm strength opens up every level of the field. His concise, consistent throwing motion allows him to be pinpoint accurate with his ball placement. Plus his decision making protects the ball and keeps his offense on the field. I’m very excited to see how the 6’3″ 195 lbs QB looks this summer with another offseason under his belt. Coaches, you need to be recruiting Grantsburg HS.

Brock had a fantastic outing in the D6 State Championship game. In fact, it was a record setting performance. Brock set the D6 State Game record for attempts, completions, and yards. Grantsburg put the ball in his hands throughout the entire game and the junior delivered. Brock looks the part at 6’3″ 190 lbs and played the part. He is a smooth operator in the pocket. His feet are quick and able to quickly set to throw. He has a smooth throwing motion with a quick, over the top motion and release. It was impressive watching him go read to read, find matchups he liked and placing the ball with outstanding accuracy where his man could get it without there being risk of a defender making a play on it. I was also blown away at the junior’s poise in the pocket. He stood tall against pressure, worked through progressions, and was patient to allow plays to develop. The junior is going to be a top prospect to watch during camps and next season.

The small schools are giving us several QBs to know over these next couple years. A 2026 to know is the 6’4″ 185 lbs athlete. The tape gets me excited for this fall to see how he has improved. Brock was slinging it all over the field in 2023 with confidence. He pushed the ball downfield aggressively with impressive touch and ball placement. Despite the long frame, Brock has solid foot quickness in the pocket and he has the athleticism to be a threat to the defense with his legs. On the short to intermediate throws, Brock has the ability to drive the ball on a frozen rope with no air under the ball. If he wants it there right now he can get it there. The dual threat QB led his team to a 12-1 record as a sophomore in 2023. I’m pumped for the encore to that performance. Give the film a watch.

Grantsburg put together an extremely efficient passing offense. They were able to do that because they field the most accurate QB in the class. Brock carved up defenses to the tune of a 62.7% completion percentage. It wasn’t a dink and dunk offense either. Brock finished with a 9.1 yards per attempt average that tells us he was aggressive with his decisions.
The only way you can consistently hit passes downfield at the rate Brock did last season is with accuracy. Accuracy to every level of the field. Not just being able to hit a spot, but pinpoint accuracy where he understands where the ball needs to be for his man to be most effective after the catch. He can hit his man over the shoulder deep downfield. He can float it over an underneath man with touch. We also see him fire it into his man’s chest on routes his man can use his body to box out. Matheny did a great job with ball placement and accuracy to every level of the field in 2023.
