Last Sunday, PrepRedzoneMNand a host of college coaches and social media outlets descended on Concordia-St. Paul's indoor dome for a day of testing and offensive-minded drill work primed to develop quarterbacks and wide receivers. If you don't know, 612Qs and 612WRs, founded by Robbinsdale Armstrong and Augsburg alum Quinn Frisell, has revolutionized the landscape of Minnesota's offseason football development, particularly with the quarterback position, and is, more importantly, a good person who is in the game for the right reasons. With a decorated coaching staff that includes some of the Land of Lakes' best signal-callers of the last half-decade, 612Qs is invested in Minnesota athletes across the state, and they put on a quality showcase today in the 651. Tons of reps, high-quality coaching, and six different states represented on the athlete roster, and some fantastic 2027, 2028, and 2029 prospects, some of whom were completely unknown coming into Sunday's event. In fact, make sure you check out the 2029 who yours truly is quite excited about going into high school. Last 612Q's recap from your MN lead scout, dig in!

--

Alpha: [player_tooltip player_id='1543013' first='Reed' last='Creighton'] (Belle Plaine) 2028. 6'1, 170 lbs.

Creighton is a QB worth getting excited about in the developing 2028 QB race, and PRzMN has been lucky enough to have had eyes on the Belle Plaine product since he was an 8th grader, so we're starting to feel like we're getting to know the kid pretty well. In terms of where his skillset is compared to his age, Creighton was my obvious choice for UnderclassMen Alpha. To start with, Creighton is growing, and he's up to a now-verified 6'1 with more room to grow in his remaining high school years. Additionally, he added a 28.4" vert and 4.69 shuttle, so there's some athleticism to work with that is only improving. Creighton was paired with the rising senior QB group and more than held his own, proving himself to be one of the most consistent, accurate, and mechanically sound QBs in the Big Boy group while demonstrating the arm strength, timing, and touch to work the ball to all three levels of the field. I believe all the scouts at PRzMN are bullish on Creighton's projection into the college level already. He's going to have a ton of high school snaps and reps in his career when it's all said and done. Additionally, he's coachable, and is a hard worker, grinding week after week with 612Q's and making the most out of every opportunity to get better.

Biggest Stock Riser: [player_tooltip player_id='1643890' first='Jack' last='Laurel'] (Prior Lake) 2029. 6'2, 180 lbs.

Another live event, another 8th grader walking away as the contest's Biggest Stock Riser. Laurel was literally head & shoulders above his peers, as his now-verified 6'2, 180 lbs. could have passed for a high school sophomore or junior, a stark contrast to his peers still waiting to hit that first major growth spurt. Not only was he physically mature, Laurel was a smooth route technician with some nuance to his game, and he also displayed a big catch radius and didn't drop a single ball that I saw all morning long. Clocking in with a 26.3" vert, 5 second 40, and 4.62 shuttle, as well as a representative of 6A Prior Lake, it's an easy bet to think that Laurel is going to play far earlier than most of his peers. Remember: PrepRedzoneMN is where you're going to hear of future big-time names first.

[player_tooltip player_id='1643890' first='Jack' last='Laurel'] at 612Q's 2025 Offensive Skills Camp

Quarterbacks

[player_tooltip player_id='1665774' first='Drew' last='Julson'] (Princeton) 2027. 5'8, 158 lbs.

With how successful the Princeton Tigers are at running the rock, you wouldn't expect to find real-deal quarterbacks on the Tigers' roster, but Princeton is handing the keys from senior [player_tooltip player_id='743246' first='Brayden' last='Shafer'] (Waldorf commit) to yet another effective passer in rising junior [player_tooltip player_id='1665774' first='Drew' last='Julson']. Not the biggest kid around, but I consistently heard the 612Q's coaches complimenting his timing on a variety of passes around the gridiron, and I also liked his touch from the multiple reps I saw of him stretching the ball downfield. Go Tigers!

[player_tooltip player_id='1217899' first='Osborne' last='Lorenz'] (Mankato West) 2027. 6'4, 218 lbs.

What a showing for the Scarlets XL gunslinger! From the athletes in attendance who attended both the 2024 and 2025 612Q's Offensive Skills Camp, Lorenz has my backing as the Most Improved Player. A now-verified 6'4, 215+, Lorenz is also a good athlete who measured a 29.8" vert, 4.65 shuttle, and 5.12 laser 40 for a strong foundation of athleticism for a 15/16 year-old sophomore, and he has done a great job of cleaning up his release and accuracy, as well as consistency. The ball also rockets out of his hand, with noticeable arm talent that shows up on a variety of throws around the field, Lorenz could stretch the field and throw with accuracy downfield all morning long. Mankato West may have a QB battle on their hands this summer!

Carson Smith (Superior, WI) 2027. 6', 160 lbs.

Repping the Badger State, I wish I got to see more reps of Superior High School's Smith, but I did get to see the rising junior flick an absolute moon shot high into the air of the CSP Indoor Dome before landing right into the awaiting bread basket of the streaking wide receiver. It got the coaching staff who had eyes on hyped and definitely left an impression on me.

[player_tooltip player_id='1540406' first='Everett' last='Arnold'] (St. Louis Park) 2027. Verified 6'5, 222 lbs.

You saw that right, St. Louis Park Oriole Arnold is a verified 6'5, 222 in the spring of his sophomore school year, and it's worth saying that Arnold is one of the leaner 220+ pounders I've seen in my professional career with PRzMN. Additionally, he clocked a 26.5" vert to add another positive athletic data point to his growing profile, and he was more than impressive during positional drills and routes on air as well. I liked watching Arnold the most during drills and positional-specific work that required footwork, mobility, and throwing on the move. Arnold was smooth, effortless, and sudden when navigating and climbing the pocket, as well as working out to the perimeter, and he throws a good ball on the move in terms of accuracy and zip. Additionally, Arnold had one of the strongest arms in attendance, displayed good timing, and was able to put the ball on a rope on some of the tougher required throws of the day, but he was up and down in terms of accuracy despite the raw and in-your-face physical tools. Going to be one of the most closely watched sophomores in Minnesota this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1645705' first='Carson' last='Brenny'] (Foley) 2027. 6'3, 170 lbs.

Representing the Foley Falcons, Brenny's frame and size initially caught the eye, and his arm makes you stay. At a verified 6'3, 170, Brenny clocked a 4.45 shuttle and 23" vertical during the testing portion of the 2025 612Q's Offensive Skills Camp, with a big arm attached to his right shoulder that could really rip the pigskin with velocity. The Foley sophomore had a rep where he threw a gorgeous teardrop on a fade ball that hung in the air so long and dropped so perfectly into the receiver's awaiting arms that it drew an audible gasp from the coaches and parents in attendance. He certainly flashed and had an impressive amount of arm talent as an underclassman signal-caller. Safe to assume we'll be hearing more about this kid next season.

Tyson Zauhar (Rocori) 2028. 5'10, 164 lbs.

Well, well, well, what do we have here! Rocori's Tyson Zauhar was a freshman who was making some serious noise behind the scenes from 612Q's coaches, including the head man himself, as he was well above his age group in terms of command of the ball, accuracy, and overall poise. Didn't get to watch him as much as I would have liked, but to sweeten the pot, Zauhar also added a 26.8" vert and 4.57 shuttle, Mechanically sound, gets the rock out of his hand quick, and good reps of accuracy, the future is bright for this kid.

[player_tooltip player_id='1654549' first='Graham' last='Greseth'] Jr. (Rogers) 2028. 6'3, 174 lbs.

A can't-miss freshman in terms of size, I'd put some money on Rogers's product Greseth debuting near the top of the upcoming 2028 Rankings Drop, as he was a consensus pick by the 612Q staff as one of the best and brightest rising sophomores at both the 612Q's 2025 Offensive Skills Camp, as well as the state itself. Big-time pocket presence, smooth, easy release, accurate, albeit a bit up and down, and posted a 28" vert and 4.63 shuttle, but he has a big arm and all of the tools in the world to own and make his mark on a 5A varsity scene. Big things coming for Greseth Jr.

[player_tooltip player_id='1145639' first='Elijah' last='Tablante'] (Sterling, Illinois) 2029. 5'7, 140 lbs.

Making the drive from the Great State of Illinois, Tablante was making waves amongst the underclassmen and middle school group of QBs and wideouts, with shocking poise, command, and ball placement for a developing gunslinger still green to the high school ranks. Tablante's mechanics were smooth, sound, and consistent, and he could throw to nearly the entire route tree with accuracy, with an arm possessing some noticeable pop for his age and size. In Illinois, rising quarterbacks making the transition from the middle school to high school ranks who have found success at the youth level generally transfer it to the high school ranks, and there's a strong tradition of long-time, well-known QB names turning into big-time recruits in high school, so it's important not to disregard the size and age thing here. I'll be keeping a close eye on Tablante for PRzIL this offseason and beyond.

[player_tooltip player_id='888363' first='Brayden' last='Hartmann'] (Centennial) 2029. 5'8, 145 lbs.

Didn't get a ton of looks at the Cougars rising freshman standout, but he had a couple of good reps that got the coaching staff's attention and had a better arm than most of the middle school gunslingers in attendance.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

[player_tooltip player_id='1626389' first='Brady' last='Kemp'] (Lakeville North) 2027. TE.

One of the newest and potentially highest-upside sophomores to PRzMN's radar, Kemp had another good showing live and unpadded this offseason. The numbers got messed up on the spreadsheet of athletic testing for Kemp, but no matter, as he once again showed that he has a legitimate pass-catching game and skillset as a 6'4+ sophomore TE running with one of the state's Big Dogs in Lakeville North High School. Kemp was able to stretch the field better than any of the TEs in attendance, with a good understanding of route running, and I loved his big catch radius and consistent, reliable hands. I'm very excited to continue to seeing how Kemp develops his game. He's a bit raw still, and very much a young buck, but has a natural size and athleticism combination that doesn't grow on trees. Plus, Minnesota has a strong tradition of TE development. Could be a potential breakout contender in 2025 with the Panthers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1645057' first='Jackson' last='Onell'] (Watertown-Mayer) 2027. 6'6, 169 lbs.

Holy cow, what a fun new find for the 2027 Big Board! Coming at an eye-popping and now-verified 6'6, 169 pounds, Onell represented Watertown-Mayer well, bringing a rare and potentially big-time frame that you don't just stumble upon every day. Onell had one particular rep that caught and held my attention, as Onell high-pointed and snagged an overthrown back-shoulder fade that is flying over your typical WR's head, leaping high into the air and twisting his body on an athletic display of ball skills and body control. His 27" vert at 6'6 can be thanked for that, and in terms of redzone ability, matchup advantages, and 50/50 ball capability, Onell presents a package that can be an absolute nightmare for opposing DC's to try and deal with and one that a college program could easily make use of. He'll be on the 2027 Big Board by the end of the week!

[player_tooltip player_id='1238166' first='David' last='Downs'] (St. Francis) 2028. 5'8, 162 lbs.

Downs came in with a fair bit of hype behind him, as the freshman was a PrepRedzoneNEXT Showcase WR MVP in middle school, and boy oh boy the St. Francis product blow the testing out of the water. Downs popped off a 33.1" and 31.9" vert, 4.8 laser 40, and 4.7 shuttle, and as a slot receiver, he had a sudden COD ability as a route runner who was also explosive and could easily work vertically. With verified athleticism as his foundation and three full seasons left of high school ball, it's hard not to think that Downs is going to be a serious weapon for St. Francis the next few seasons.

Datione Warren (MPLS Camden) 2027. 5'9, 158 lbs.

One of a strong contingent of MPLS Camden 2026 and 2027s to show up and show out at Concordia-St. Paul's indoor dome, Warren had a great showing on the testing end of the 612Q's 2025 Offensive Skills Camp despite a lack of experience in the particular drills ran on the unpadded camp circuit. Highlighting explosiveness, raw speed, and quickness, Warren popped off a 31.8" and 32.2" vert, 4.91 laser 40, and 4.67 shuttle, and he put them to good use during drills and routes on air. Warren was a quick, smooth route runner with some noticeable COD ability, with real danger in space. MPLS Camden is on the rise, folks!

[player_tooltip player_id='1393180' first='Joaquin' last='Brown'] (Burnsville) 2027. 6', 146 lbs.

Speaking of programs on the up-and-up, Brown was one of a handful of Burnsville Blaze athletes to put together a really strong shift and performance during the 612Q's 2025 Offensive Skills Camp, making me hopeful for a resurgent season by the Blaze as they navigate the 5A ranks after bumping down a classification for the 2025 season. Brown had one of the best testing performances of any athlete in attendance, regardless of position or grad class, as he popped off a 29.6" vert, 4.84 40 on the lasers, and 4.42 shuttle to bring some intriguing verified athleticism to the table with two and half years of high school lifts, workouts, and reps remaining. Brown is also long, with noticeable room to fill in, and had a solid day in all three parts of the 612Q's 2025 Offensive Skills Camp. Smooth COD ability, good handle on route running, and tons of athleticism to work with. Go Blaze!

Lavon Jordan (MPLS Camden) 2027. 5'5, 141 lbs.

Not your biggest athlete in attendance, however, Jordan could fly, clocking a 4.88 laser 40, a 4.63 shuttle, and a 28" vert to the table as a sophomore wideout. Jordan had a big catch radius for his size and was a smooth route runner with clean footwork and a ton of twitch in his game. Look out for the MPLS Camden WR room in 2025!

[player_tooltip player_id='1288386' first='Tommy' last='Subah'] (Burnsville) 2027. 6', 159 lbs.

A Burnsville product we've had our eyes on since he was a young freshman, Subah has really developed and sharpened his toolkit as a route runner, with quick footwork, sudden stick & plant ability, and some especially dirty releases at the LOS. Subah can drop his hips and cut off his routes suddenly and has a good understanding of the route tree. Additionally, he posted an explosive 32" vert during testing, and I was pumped to find out he was named a captain as a junior for the upcoming 2025 season. This kid can get open, and with consistency to boot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1810969' first='Trenton' last='Tapper'] (Eagan) 2027. 5'9, 160 lbs.

With a powerful and noticeably defined lower body, Tapper's 160 pounds powered him to an impressive 32.4" vertical as a sophomore, along with a notable 4.93 laser 40 and a 4.53 shuttle to highlight some athleticism that fits in at the 6A Big School record. Tapper was a smooth, fluid mover who gets out of his breaks suddenly and explosively. Hard to tell without a DB involved, buut Tapper looks like he has all the tools to create separation at the 6A level.

Walter Johnson III (Hopkins) 2027. 5'10, 162 lbs.

Good all-around showing from Hopkins sophomore Johnson III, starting with his verified testing. 30.9" vert, 4.95 40 on the lasers, and a 4.73 shuttle are nothing to discount, and the Royals wideout showed he could work vertically and track the deep ball with success.

[player_tooltip player_id='1644573' first='Brody' last='Johnson'] (Lakeville North) 2028. 5'8, 145 lbs.

Another Lakeville North product, freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1644573' first='Brody' last='Johnson'] had a polished route running skillset for a young buck and good hands that could consistently reel in catches away from his body. Got in and out of his breaks quickly and effectively and looked good on air on a variety of routes.

John Ngaima (Belle Plaine) 2028. 5'4, 132 lbs.

Not the biggest freshman, but Ngaima was a solid route runner who could break his routes off well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1640892' first='Josiah' last='Turner'] (Annandale) 2028. 5'8, 160 lbs.

With more visible muscle definition than his peers, Turner also showed a much better understanding of route running and getting open, as his quick COD ability and footwork caught the eye, and he had strong that could catch the ball away from his body. Lot of good football left for the Annandale young buck.

Logan Rolle (Prior Lake) 2029. 5'4, 115 lbs.

Still waiting on that first major growth spurt, but Rolle caught our attention when working deep routes, as he showed good acceleration, tracked and played the deep ball, and had good balance, making strong plays on the ball and remaining upright at a much higher clip than his middle school peers. Another young and promising name out of a rising Prior Lake 2029 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1634068' first='Zion' last='Davis'] (Lakeville North) 2028. 5'9, 180 lbs.

A thick, powerful, and athletic freshman coming from the rich recruiting grounds of Lakeville, this is our second live look at Davis, and he once again impressed. Davis was the best underclassman route runner in attendance, showing a fluid and smooth COD ability and a ton of burst and juice at the top of the route. Great hands, good releases, loose hips, and showed the ball skills to make plays on 50/50 balls and contested catches. Balanced, dynamic skillset that should see varsity minutes earlier than most with the powerhouse Panthers.
