QB who is being recruited to play TE or LB at the next level, has long been covered and discussed on PRzMN, including his P4 recruitment, which has been the most fruitful of the 2026 class in Minnesota. UCLA and Auburn are his most recent offers, as well as Miami (FL), making his recruitment truly national, and it shouldn't come as much of a surprise given how rare it is to find 6'4, 215 lbers. with 4.6 speed and a 10' broad jump.

The junior owns a dazzling blend of speed, power, and finesse that we haven't seen in a long time in Minnesota. Voss can easily outpace pursuers down the sideline and in space like a 180 lb. sprinter and displays a fantastic toolbox of ways to beat tackle attempts, including a truck stick, raw speed, hurdles, sudden footwork that can stop on a dime, loose and fluid movement skills, short-area quickness, and a fluidity that makes his effort look like it's nothing harder than running around a track. To speak to his versatility, Voss has a rep of him playing man coverage in the slot and carrying a slot receiver all the way downfield, winning vertically and taking the top off the defense as a WR, INTs returned for TDs, special teams splash plays, big hits, sacks, and about every single way a tackle could be broken possible. Enjoy him while he's here, folks! [player_tooltip player_id='212362' first='Roman' last='Voss'] is special.

https://twitter.com/romanvoss2/status/1862951049461432369

Representing the rare and aggressive EDGE/RB hybrid combination, there is a lot to like about East Ridge's [player_tooltip player_id='1256218' first='Henry' last='Bern'] besides the fact that he moonlights as a 6'1+, 235 lb. ball carrier. A rising three-year starter in the 6A ranks and trenches, Bern is a well-filled-out EDGE prospect with good testing times (4.71 shuttle, 8'7 broad) on this past summer's camp circuit, transferring the momentum, as well as his impressive weight room numbers like his 500 lb. squat and 365 lb. bench, to a strong junior season on the gridiron. The younger brother of current St. Thomas freshman LB Charlie Bern, Henry owns hard-to-find versatility at the 6A level, stepping in as a productive RB with guaranteed go-forward when he's not chasing down RBs and QBs for sacks and TFLs. Bern is a hard hitter and can overwhelm blockers with his power, and he shows good quickness that helps him execute twists and stunts effectively. The pop he uses to knock blockers backward at first contact, especially if it's a RB in pass pro, stands out particularly well on tape. Plus, he demonstrates good speed as a blitzer off the edge and when pursuing and running down ball carriers out to the sideline and thump as a tackler. As a RB, Bern displays good burst, which helps him resemble a F150 of a RB when he hits the hole with a full head of steam, and he shows good vision as a ball carrier who requires multiple defenders to bring him down, keeping his legs pumping for extra yardage after contact. Northwestern and Indiana have reached out with camp invites and St. Thomas sent a junior day invite as well.

https://twitter.com/HenryjBern/status/1856499931306975572

One of the most compelling juniors on the 2026 Big Board also happens to be one of the most versatile, no surprises there. Zimmerman's [player_tooltip player_id='743283' first='Noah' last='Schmit'] is a part of the Thunder's outstanding 2026 class that we have long been hyping up on PRzMN, possessing ridiculous upside at a verified 6'3, 180+ with an absurd amount of room to fill in. Schmit has long been an eye-catcher athletically, showing up and showing out as a tester at multiple exposure points we've seen on the LB/WR, most recently a 31" vert, 4.72 40, 4.44 shuttle, and 8'11 broad at the UWRF Mega Camp last summer. The tape is fun too, as he was named a Hardest Hitter in Minnesota's 2026 class last year as a sophomore, and he goes into his senior year as a rising three-year starter with a ton of varsity reps, production, and utility as a rare LB/WR combo.

As a WR, Schmit is a tall, long, fast, and tough pass catcher with a bigger catch radius, and he breaks his routes off smoothly and does a good job of working back to the football. Schmit can reel in contested catches through tight coverage, absorbing big hits and keeping the rock secured through handsy and sometimes physical DBs, and he accelerates out of his cuts and past man coverage. Plus, the 180 lber. owns burners after the catch and can win vertically. Defensively, as an OLB who can play both as a standup edge on the LOS and as an off-ball 'backer on the perimeter, Schmit can create disruption as a pass rusher thanks to his good get-off, noticeable closing speed, and comfortability tackling in space. However, he also uses his length to break up passes and stick his arms into passing lanes in the middle of the second level. Plus, the 180 lber. naturally rips at the ball with his free arm to create turnovers. I think his future is best served on defense at the college level, but this kind of versatility is a massive asset at the prep level. Schmit visited Augustana in October for a gameday experience and more visits are coming!

https://twitter.com/NoahSchmit10/status/1842702845172170819

Talk about a football player! Blaine Bengal [player_tooltip player_id='1476066' first='Tristan' last='Harris'] has already been all over the place on the offseason trail, both this past summer and in the early 2025 offseason, leading to a nod on this PRzMN 2026 Rankings Update special as one of the state's Most Versatile prospects. Harris, whose junior tape is primarily at off-ball linebacker, was seen by PRzMN at the LOScrimmage Holiday Clinic around New Year working as a hand-down defensive end, and he came into this past December's PRzMN Stock-Up Showcase to work as a WR. Harris also has some experience as a RB, and this past summer he had a good showing at the UW-River Falls Mega Camp, especially in the testing department, where he came in at 6'2, 208 lbs. and recorded a 30" vert, 4.78 40, 4.47 shuttle, and 9'1 broad to really turn some heads.

Harris displays big-time range as a ILB, able to pursue sideline-to-sideline with pace, as well as change direction smoothly and accelerate from a dead stop with noticeable burst, allowing him to come downhill and cover significant amounts of ground when chasing down loose QBs and RBs. I love how he mirrors and tracks a ball carrier's hip, runs the alley well, and does a good job of beating blocking attempts with speed and not allowing iOL to tie him up around the box. The 210 lber. can also flip his hips, stick his cleat in the ground, and break on the ball to disrupt an opponent's passing game and lay the wood on outstretched receivers. Harris is a strong tackler who can go shoulder-to-shoulder with RBs in the hole, sticking them and disallowing extra gains after contact. Bemidji State just sent a junior day invite!

It's gotta be an exciting prospect for college coaches and recruiters to have one of the state's most versatile recruits come out of powerhouse Eden Prairie. 6'3, nearly 6'4, linebacker and defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1120625' first='Luke' last='Henry'] has the athleticism to back up his two-position utility in the trenches and in the box of Minnesota's 6A competition. He's posted a 4.88 40, 4.62 shuttle, and 9'1 broad at nearly 215 lbs. at our PRzMN Showcases, and college programs have been paying attention to the versatility, athleticism, size, and film, as Henry has earned boatload of Ivy League attention, most recently seeing Harvard stop by EPHS for a visit and Yale extending a junior day invite. FBS Wyoming also checked in on the Eagle's 2026 defensive athlete last week.

Henry's tape is strong as both an off-ball ILB and a hand-down 5T defensive lineman. Henry possesses a quick get-off and first step, allowing him to get into the backfield in a hurry, where he can diagnose, close, and tackle effectively in space and in 1v1 settings. His noticeable speed as a blitzer can find and take advantage of holes and gaps across the LOS, and he used his speed and get off to block a punt in 2024. Henry is also laterally quick and balanced, able to scrape across the LOS smoothly and effectively and cover multiple gaps in run support, and the 215 lber. attacks blockers with physicality and can keep them at bay with his strong punch and long arms. Plus, he's twitchy when defeating blocks at the LOS, can unlock his hips, and shows a little bit of bend off an opponent's backside. Someone is going to get a stud, and Henry is well-positioned for a big rankings climb sooner rather than later.

Not only is Breck High School's 6'1, 190 lber. [player_tooltip player_id='1602736' first='CJ' last='Roberts'] one of Minnesota's Most Versatile 2026s, he's also one of the Ranking's Top Newcomers, easily debuting as a Top 150 prospect with a ton of room to raise that ranking soon. Roberts' tape is very exciting, leaving me fired up after my initial viewing of the junior film when grinding for the rankings, and I can also attest to his size, as I just met him at a recent 7v7 showdown between The Hitmen and E7United. Roberts was a well-built, noticeably cut-up DB/LB who acted as a menacing presence in the defensive secondary, breaking up passes and showing instincts and man coverage ability. His three-phase contributing ability made the Breck product an easy choice for one of the state's Most Versatile prospects.

The tape and in-person combination are a fun pair, as you can easily see Roberts's power, strength, body control, and balance whether you're watching him on Hudl or on the gridiron. The junior recorded 20 catches for 404 yards and 2 TDs, and his explosiveness is highlighted by his 81-yard kickoff return TD against St. Agnes that saw him blow by the Aggies coverage unit like it was a middle school KOR team. Roberts opens his tape with one of the best individual efforts I saw while watching 2026 tape, taking a simple hitch past seven, yes seven, Minneapolis South defenders thanks to a couple quick cuts, some contact balance, breakaway speed, and the vision to see the TD calling his name. He owns homerun ability when he gets into space, is quick out of his breaks, and easily steps and slips through weaker tackle attempts, making him a nuisance to bring down 1v1 thanks to his size, strength, fight, and effort. The 190 lber. is a tough, confident wideout who can easily and willingly reel in catches through traffic and oncoming contact, possesses great ball skills, as he's able to high-point the ball over tight coverage while remaining upright, and is strong after the catch and in the air. Plus, Roberts owns solid range as a high safety who can patrol the MOF effectively. I really hope I see the Breck product on the camp circuit this spring/summer to verify that athleticism, but his body control, balance, strength, and explosiveness make me think that Roberts is going to be a successful college player wherever he lands.

In an absolutely loaded 5A, 612, Friday Night showdown last fall between Robbinsdale Armstrong and Robbinsdale Cooper, 2026 pass-catcher [player_tooltip player_id='1489326' first='Eli' last='Kuempel'] made his mark and the Falcons' most reliable, clutch, and dependable pass catchers and offensive weapons, as well as one its toughest. Add this to Kuempel's eye-catching athleticism, verified this summer at a couple prospect and mega camps, and you have the makings of a bonafide scholarship football talent. Kuempel is also a stock riser from the recent 2026 PRzMN Update, seeing his ranking climb a couple of spots despite an addition of nearly 200 new names, and if he can best his testing times from last summer this offseason, I don't see why he wouldn't be a Top 100 prospect in Minnesota. Kuempel, at 6', 195 lb., recorded bests of a 33" vert, 4.72 40, 4.43 shuttle, and 9'7 broad, owning the size and athleticism to be a WR1 in college, but thanks to Kuempel's toughness and versatility, Armstrong uses him as a utility TE/HB with a big role in the run game as a blocker. Don't get it twisted though, Kuempel added an 11.39 100M and 23.24 200M times this past spring, you know the kid can fly, and you could see his current positional classification potentially change in the coming offseason.

Talk about versatility! Kuempel is one of the best route runners in the 2026 class, tough blocker who can find work and move mass in the box as a blocker, has snaps, sacks, and production as a DE and LB, and even has a rep of him evading pressure on a failed PAT attempt, where he gets the ball off and throws a dart to a waiting receiving option, showing some arm mechanics and talent as well. As a WR, the Armstrong junior primarily works out of the slot but is alignment versatile before the snap, and he opens his tape with a beautiful display of his track speed, taking a jet sweep right in-between the OT and TE and exploding upfield before hitting an extra gear and pulling away from a couple of close pursuers to finish the run untouched and for six against Mahtomedi. Kuempel is a nuanced route runner who is fluid, technically impressive, and shifty at the top of the route. Uses head fakes, owns loose hips, and is subtle yet effective in his movements and footwork throughout a route. Can easily create separation at multiple points throughout a route and owns clean, smooth, quick COD ability when working to get open.

The 200 lber. displays good contact balance that can easily bounce weaker tacklers off his lower and stay upright through arm tackles and weaker tackle attempts. He owns big-time burst when he sees daylight and works upfield, and can smoothly and effectively takes the sideline on a defense, seemingly unexpected, where he can blow by those last pursuit angles from backside DBs. Kuempel also demonstrates a big catch radius and strong hands can reel in and finish catches through tight coverage and a ton of contact, he will high point the ball in-between traffic, and he has a great rep of him climbing to the second level and eliminating the #1 player in the state from run support as a zone blocker. Also plays OLB/DE, displaying impressive closing speed on the defensive side of the ball, getting into a QB or RBs face in a blink off the snap. Laid some massive hits on QBs trying to get the ball off in 2024 and generally lays the wood at the contact point. Has some Big Boy tackles on tape from 2024. He's pound for pound one of the toughest and most versatile 2026s in MN and should have been named one of Minnesota's Fastest Prospects in our recently published feature. What a talent!

https://twitter.com/EliKuempel/status/1863330001036222574

Another classic example of small town, multi-sporter dripping with versatility, both on the gridiron and on his overall athletic resume, Randolph's [player_tooltip player_id='1257224' first='Tristan' last='Zingler'] is a decorated prep athlete on the football field, wrestling mat, and baseball diamond. The 6', 200 lber. is also a heckuva RB/LB combo, as well as occasional punter, for Class AA Randolph High School, making for a dynamic and dangerous piece of the Rockets' exciting 2026 class of prospects. A 2x All-District football selection, 1x state wrestling entrant, and All-Section & All-Conference baseball player totaled 1,074 all-purpose yards and 15 total TDs in 2024, along with 99 tackles, 3 TFls, 2 FF, and 1 sack as a linebacker.

Zingler is a crushing lead blocker who opens his tape with a rep of him pancaking not one, but two Cannon Falls defenders while staying upright and onward to spring his teammate loose for a big gain, and his tape proves he owns some of the best contact balance of any RB in the state. Zingler eats and absorbs tackle attempts with noticeable ease, continuing forward for extra yardage post-contact, and steps through LBs and DBs trying to drag him down like they are his younger cousins on Thanksgiving Day. Has reps of him breaking handfuls of tackle attempts in a single run, and that's not with speed folks, he's running straight North-South through these dudes with a little bit of shake mixed in for good measure. The 200 lber. spins off, slips and steps through, runs over, and shakes by would-be tacklers in highlight reel fashion, as his quick feet and sudden cuts help him slip by tackle attempts when he works laterally. Zingler also should have been named one of the state's Hardest Hitters in Sunday's special feature - both for his crushing lead blocking ability, run-you-over run style, and thumping tackle strength as a LB. With good speed on both sides of the ball, Zingler reads, seeks, and finds the ball with pace and bad intentions defensively. Lots of play speed and physicality in his defensive game. I don't think the Randolph 2026 made any camp stops last summer, so I'd love to verify the athleticism, but Zingler looks like a potential NSIC kid if the numbers hold up. Colleges: make sure you stop by Randolph in your 2026 recruiting.

https://twitter.com/zingler_t/status/1854715140047860182

One of the longest-standing names and talents in the Minnesota 2026 Rankings, Kingsland's [player_tooltip player_id='402074' first='Kaaleem' last='Reiland'] is going to be a four-year starter for the 9Man heavyweight Knights when it's all said and done, not to mention a varsity contributor for even longer, and he helped catapult Kingsland to a 4-5 record in 2022 to an 13-1 record in 2023 and a two-point loss in the 9Man Prep Bowl. Reiland's dynamic athleticism has shown up at a multitude of PRzMN Showcases, where he's lightning quick and agile in space, not to mention very effective as a route runner, and it's built on the back of some strong weight room numbers, namely a 225x9 bench press showing during last season. Already fresh off junior day visits to St. Thomas and North Dakota State, Reiland has also heard from North Dakota, Northwestern College, Augustana, and the University of Jamestown so far this offseason, proving himself to be one of the more popular names in Minnesota's 2026 class.

A dynamic QB/RB/LB/DB, Reiland is at his best with the ball in-hand and green grass in front of him, as he was a natural, explosive, and productive 9Man weapon in 2024 with an electric highlight tape of big TD runs, forced missed tackles, and splash plays. Reiland's homerun speed can take advantage of even the slightest miss-alignment, missed assignment, or open gap, and his impressive burst leaves defenders diving for ankles and grasping at air as he blows past them. The junior displays good vision and does a solid of job of hitting the hole before bouncing the rock outside smoothly, as well as sudden COD ability with the ball in hand. Reiland also owns an aggressive truck stick that sat more than a few would-be tacklers down in 2024, quick feet help him set up free defenders in space, and natural elusiveness that also aides him when scrambling and extending plays as a QB. Also a good basketball player, the combination of production, playmaking ability, varsity experience, athleticism, and versatility spell out good things for his college career. Should be a busy offseason for the 9Man standout!

A PrepRedzoneMN Showcase standout and veteran, Chaska's [player_tooltip player_id='665266' first='Mason' last='Davis'] brings one of the more diverse skillsets and resume to the state's 2026 rankings. As a sophomore, Davis started for 5A Chaskaon the interior OL, primarily as an offensive center, where he showed good initial pop, low pad level off the snap, leg drive post-contact, and good balance. Davis, as an underclassman and first-year starter, was strong enough to handle massive DTs and NGs 1v1 in the trenches, both in run and pass blocking settings, and also took reps as a DT, stuffing up gaps in the run game and once again excelling in contact-heavy situations.

The 6'1, 210 lber. moved to his rightful position of linebacker in his junior campaign, reporting over 100 tackles with the 5-5 Hawks while showing some prowess in run defense. Davis can shock and shed blockers and maintain gap integrity and proper leverage while making tackles through contact, and he's also able to drop his hips a bit and rip up and under interior OL for clean block defeats, as well as use his quickness to his advantage. Davis can create some big collisions behind a full head of steam, has a couple strong reps of him identifying screens and slipping through the setting offensive linemen for slippery TFLs and botched plays by the offense, and is able to pursue, mirror, change direction, and breakdown when chasing QBs and RBs in space and in the backfield. Last April, at the PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series Showcase, Davis measured in at 6'1, 211, posting a 5.06 40, 4.47 and 4.5 40, 9'3 and 9'6 broad jump, and 7.22 and 7.25 L-drill. Should be a monster senior year for the ILB from Chaska High.

https://twitter.com/MasonDavis2026/status/1853555474869657991

As evidence of the Zimmerman Thunder 2026 class's high-end talent, we have another junior on this talented list of Minnesota's Most Versatile, one whose name should be more than familiar with fans of PRzMN. 6'4, 180 lb. QB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='743298' first='Thomas' last='Mceachern'] is one of the longest ranked 2026s in the state and a name long-known to us at PRzMN, especially when talking potential D1 prospects. The height, length, and speed combination, coupled with his positional flexibility as a QB who thrives as a ball carrier, have made him on of Minnesota's Most Versatile since Day 1. A rising three-year starter, Mceachern made a couple of solid showings in the summer camp circuit, going 4.8 in the 40s, 4.5 in the shuttle, and 9'4 in the broad. The tape is what really pops, as Mceachern is an impressive scrambler and ultra-mobile QB who is at his best when things have broken down. His sudden, powerful cuts generate noticeable force when he sticks his cleat in the ground, sending defenders flying past them for missed tackles, and he made some defenders look straight-up foolish in 2024. Mceachern's shifty, speed gait and big-play speed can take the rock to the house and create TD runs when given minimal space, making defenders look like they were stuck in the mud. His long, strong lower body and impressive balance help him slip through weaker tackle attempts at his lower body, as well as power and burst through arm tackles at the first and second level of the field. The small forward on the basketball team, where he can show off his 35" vert, posted 1,059 -passing yards and 10 TDs in 2024 on the gridiron, as well as 827 rushing yards at 7.3 YPC and 12 TDs on the ground. Dakota State, Bemidji State, North Dakota, and North Dakota State (attended) have sent junior day invites so far this offseason. You'll be hearing more about Mceachern and his teammates in the coming months.

https://twitter.com/ThomasMceacher9/status/1853229402328363438

--
