Roberts is one of the most intriguing athletes in his class. He led the Mustangs in receiving yards, touchdowns, and was tied for leading in receptions last season with 403, 2, and 20, respectively, all in just 6 games. He also tallied 9 tackles on defense and a kick return TD. If you watch his tape, it becomes clear that you want to feed Roberts the ball. The dude is a threat as soon as he gets the rock. He’s able to anticipate the openings and closures of run lanes, especially when returning kicks, and has proven himself to be a devastating YAC threat. I expect Roberts’ recruiting to blow up during his senior year, and for him to be a driving force on the Mustangs’ offense.

Despite missing 2 games due to injury, Roberts finished with a solid 403 yards on just 20 receptions and 2 touchdowns. Roberts has a great catch-radius, and his route-running ability was really impressive, showing great twitch and speed off his breaks that has made him an electric deep-threat. Breck works well in space, doing a great job at aiming his routes toward the secondary’s weak points on each play, and he plays hard through contact, refusing to go down easy. Roberts is a great asset for Breck to build around, and he could very well translate his skillset into becoming a playmaker at the next level.

Not only is Breck High School’s 6’1, 190 lber. CJ Roberts CJ Roberts 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Breck | 2026 State MN one of Minnesota’s Most Versatile 2026s, he’s also one of the Ranking’s Top Newcomers, easily debuting as a Top 150 prospect with a ton of room to raise that ranking soon. Roberts‘ tape is very exciting, leaving me fired up after my initial viewing of the junior film when grinding for the rankings, and I can also attest to his size, as I just met him at a recent 7v7 showdown between The Hitmen and E7United. Roberts was a well-built, noticeably cut-up DB/LB who acted as a menacing presence in the defensive secondary, breaking up passes and showing instincts and man coverage ability. His three-phase contributing ability made the Breck product an easy choice for one of the state’s Most Versatile prospects.

The tape and in-person combination are a fun pair, as you can easily see Roberts’s power, strength, body control, and balance whether you’re watching him on Hudl or on the gridiron. The junior recorded 20 catches for 404 yards and 2 TDs, and his explosiveness is highlighted by his 81-yard kickoff return TD against St. Agnes that saw him blow by the Aggies coverage unit like it was a middle school KOR team. Roberts opens his tape with one of the best individual efforts I saw while watching 2026 tape, taking a simple hitch past seven, yes seven, Minneapolis South defenders thanks to a couple quick cuts, some contact balance, breakaway speed, and the vision to see the TD calling his name. He owns homerun ability when he gets into space, is quick out of his breaks, and easily steps and slips through weaker tackle attempts, making him a nuisance to bring down 1v1 thanks to his size, strength, fight, and effort. The 190 lber. is a tough, confident wideout who can easily and willingly reel in catches through traffic and oncoming contact, possesses great ball skills, as he’s able to high-point the ball over tight coverage while remaining upright, and is strong after the catch and in the air. Plus, Roberts owns solid range as a high safety who can patrol the MOF effectively. I really hope I see the Breck product on the camp circuit this spring/summer to verify that athleticism, but his body control, balance, strength, and explosiveness make me think that Roberts is going to be a successful college player wherever he lands.
