is taking his recruitment into the traditional National Signing Day without committing. PRZMN has gotten a long and detailed look at Mceachern throughout his career, notably at Minnesota Gopher prospect camps and the Bemidji State Big School War on the Shore Team Camp, where the senior was a looming and long 6’3, 180+ who was slashing and stabbing MN 6A defenses when he got out in space. The Minnesota Mr. Football nominee and MN All-Star holds offers from Minot State, MSU-Moorhead, Bemidji State, Concordia-St. Paul, UWRF, and UW-Stout, yet his dynamic, speedy, elusive, and experienced skillset remains without a home going into February. Hit him up!

is one of the longest ranked 2026s in the state and a name long-known to us at PRzMN, especially when talking potential D1 prospects. The height, length, and speed combination, coupled with his positional flexibility as a QB who thrives as a ball carrier, have made him on of Minnesota’s Most Versatile since Day 1. A rising three-year starter, Mceachern made a couple of solid showings in the summer camp circuit, going 4.8 in the 40s, 4.5 in the shuttle, and 9’4 in the broad. The tape is what really pops, as Mceachern is an impressive scrambler and ultra-mobile QB who is at his best when things have broken down. His sudden, powerful cuts generate noticeable force when he sticks his cleat in the ground, sending defenders flying past them for missed tackles, and he made some defenders look straight-up foolish in 2024. Mceachern’s shifty, speed gait and big-play speed can take the rock to the house and create TD runs when given minimal space, making defenders look like they were stuck in the mud. His long, strong lower body and impressive balance help him slip through weaker tackle attempts at his lower body, as well as power and burst through arm tackles at the first and second level of the field. The small forward on the basketball team, where he can show off his 35″ vert, posted 1,059 -passing yards and 10 TDs in 2024 on the gridiron, as well as 827 rushing yards at 7.3 YPC and 12 TDs on the ground. Dakota State, Bemidji State, North Dakota, and North Dakota State (attended) have sent junior day invites so far this offseason. You’ll be hearing more about Mceachern and his teammates in the coming months.

(Zimmerman) ATH – Saw his stock rise from #33 to #20 in the Minnesota 2026 rankings.
13-spot climb for Zimmerman Thunder 6’4, 175 lb. athlete Thomas Mceachern, and the Thunder are in early contention for the top 2026 class in Minnesota as well. Mceachern was a standout performer at December’s PRzMN Stock-Up Showcase, measuring in at 6’4, 163 pounds, and running a 4.63 in the 40 and jumping 9’1 on the broad, and the tape shows off a dynamic, playmaking, and naturally elusive ball carrier with some real talent in the open field. I remember Mceachern’s freshman tape had similar vibes, but he’s done a great job of transitioning to varsity ball, and now that I have some verified numbers on him, I feel a lot better about putting him in the top tier of the class.
Mceachern has a solid arm and can move his offense with his passing ability, but his future collegiate position is elsewhere, and I could see him potentially playing a few positions at the next level. This is a good thing, and to add to his dynamic ability and skillset, the 6’4 sophomore also possesses an accomplished basketball background. His long legs and strong lower body help him stay upright and balanced through contact, and he’s a twitchy and sudden ball carrier who is very fun to watch forcing missed tackles and making defenders miss. The 6’4 QB shows good burst, and good vision, will run behind his pads when needed, and shows excellent scrambling ability when he’s buying time and improvising behind the LOS. The only real improvement I can think of is generally increasing his speed, as I’d like to see Mceachern finish more of these big runs he creates, but there’s still visible speed on tape and when you play QB you do get told to save your body and be conscious about contact. I have no clue where his future lies position-wise, but he’s one of the top playmakers in the class with ball in hand and I’m excited to see what happens.

, who played QB and safety for the Thunder last fall in the non-varsity ranks. With a great frame and a ton of length that can hold an intriguing amount of increased weight, Mceachern showed off a dynamic skillset that created a ton of big plays for both his offense and defense in 2022. With burst, top-end, breakaway speed, vision, and a little bit of wiggle with the rock in-hand, he popped off some explosive TD runs that rarely saw him even touched by opponents, and in addition to the running ability, he showed soft hands, the ability to throw the rock, and dominance as a tackler as a MOF defender. If he had a good offseason, I could see him getting varsity reps somewhere on the field in 2023. Loads of potential in Mceachern!
