Expert Analysis
Ellis Williams | Prep Redzone Scout
Nordlund is the tone-setter up front—smart, physical, and assignment-clean. Upfront, he fits Zimmerman’s identity. He is explosive with his first two steps on down blocks, square on contact, and has the strength to dent double teams. He’s comfortable pulling and finding second-level work on GT/counter, arriving with low pads and independent hands. Pass pro is efficient and patient; he carries width without oversetting, re-anchors vs. power, and replaces hands when long-armers lock him out. He’s a natural tackle, comfortable with power runs and dominating at the point of attack. On defense, he plays with leverage and knock-back, squeezing gaps and finishing with effort. A college-ready frame, the Minnesota State commit is having another anchoring season. The tape shows a powerful competitor. Nordlund will be the one who gets your run game on schedule and can be trusted one-on-one on third-and-7.

has been one of the most popular names in the NSIC recruiting scene during the spring. The PrepRedzoneMN Showcase veteran and top performer, Nordlund has earned offers from MSU-Mankato, Northern State, and Sioux Falls, solidifying himself as a top target of the three NSIC competitors going into the fall. Nordlund’s Mavericks offer camp after a standout performance at Mankato’s camp as well. Big-time pop at the contact point, active and effective hands, a mean bull rush, and good strength and power from the interior, Nordlund is going to be a popular name on the summer’s camp circuit next month.

Nordlund showed solid inside pass-rush moves. He started with a good swim move. Then, he used good power and a rip move on an inside rush. Finally, he used good old-fashioned quickness and power on a final inside rush.
